to get my promise ring cleaned haha. anyways while i was waiting i was looking at all the shiny pretty rings *drool* as i have never done this before. and then the lady says oh are you and your boyfriend looking at engagement rings yet (we buy a lot of our jewelery there, so thats how they know us) and i say wellllllllll i am lol. i say i dont even know if you guys carry moissanite...to which she replies of course we do, i have a whole case right here. so she pulls it out and there is this really pretty antique ring that seriously gave me shivers, i almost peed my pants i got so excited. so it's 1,200 or something like that which is apparently a good price or so she says...but the problem is that the other stones on it are real diamonds (me and SO are against the mining, he says he doesnt want anyone to lose a life so i can have a pretty ring). so yeah, a issue... i suppose they could just substitute the real ones with moissanite ones....ermmm i wasnt even supposed to be looking in the first place...and then on top of it all, she sent me home with a phamphlet that is now hiding in my shoe bag because i know SO will NEVER snoop in there haha. oh my. anyways i just wanted to share. oh and for freke, these are the shoes...lol

thats why i had to take it off the website, but if anyone takes a picture of my foot at the pub tonight i will post it lol

What about canadian diamonds? I''ve never seen mossainaite in person, so maybe it''s a great deal.....but just saying there are other options.

Smurfy-

My SO is the same way he doesn''t want to think anyone lost their life so I could wear a pretty ring. I''m not as understanding as you are though. I want my one diamond. Even if this is the only one I ever get. I told him if he''s that worried he should buy a Canadian stone, but that for the size I want he shouldn''t really worry about someone dying for it.

Smurfy, You''re such bad influence... those super cute shoes are further feeding my shoe addiction. Ha ha. :)

I''m glad you found a ring that makes your heart pitter. :) You have to show us a pic if you can.

really pretty antique ring that seriously gave me shivers
Smufry: Neil Beaty a/k/a DenverAppraiser wrote a great article about how to purchase a conflict free diamond. One suggestion he makes it to purchase used or antique rings as the diamonds could have been imported before the whole "Blood Diamond" situation.
