Our Story:

BF and I met at my current job. I joined the company 2 years ago this last week and we worked with the same Key Account. (I was the Ops Coordinator and he was the Project Manager). Anyhow-the entire time that we knew each other, I thought he was married!

He would always talk about his boys and getting a "Kitchen Pass", which I thought was permission from his wife when there were evening events (like dinners, or drinks with clients).

Well, I thought SO was a really great guy, but that was it. It was hard for me to come to telecom with no experience and my team was great about explaining things to me using itty bitty words so that I would understand what they were talking about. Of the four guys on my team (I was the only woman), 2 were remote (both amazing guys as well) and one was the boss (our Sales Director) and that left BF and me. I would always organize lunches for our group when the other two were in town and for birthdays and SO would always come. I was in a LDR and things weren''t working out.

I broke off my LDR in March and SO and I continued to hang out, but since I thought he was married, there was really nothing romantic about it. We really got to know each other as friends. In May, he accepted a great position with another company and he announced his departure. I was upset because I wasn''t going to see my friend anymore, but the new opportunity sounded great and I was very happy for him. I helped plan his going away party.

On his last day at the company as he is walking out the door, he stopped at my office and gave me a hug. I told him that he needed to keep in touch and to give us a call if his new team wasn''t up for lunch. He laughed and instead asked me to dinner! I was actually abit offended!!!

Was he kidding? So I asked him how his wife would feel about it and he replied that it didn''t matter since he was divorced!!!!

So I said yes, and we have been together ever since (June 2007)....Funny side-story: I loved the guy, but I wanted to double check and asked one of the remote guys if it was true that he was divorced. Remote-guy said, "No! He''s not divorced, I know his wife!!! I was just at their house a few weeks ago, but she was at work." and I was crushed and MAD!!!!!!!!! I confronted SO about it and it turned out that he NEVER TOLD ANYONE other than family about his divorce. He had to send out a mass e-mail to all co-workers, family, and friends about his divorce before our first date! Hahahaha! He still says that I "outed" him!

ON TO MAIN POINT OF POST:

He is a member of a local charity organization called the Dallas Margarita Society and a few weeks ago, we had a chili cook-off. One of the women was talking about how her and her hubby just celebrated their 38 year wedding anniversary. Then she turns to SO and very bluntly asks: When are you two getting married? and I laugh (like I always do) and say, "Oh, we aren''t even engaged yet!". She grabs my left hand and asks SO, so when are you proposing? and SO says: when I buy a ring. And this wonderful, fantastic God-sent woman says, "Great! Let''s go to my jeweler on Monday! How is 10AM?" and SO says........"Monday at 10AM sounds great! What is your number?"

The best part, he went with her last Monday!!!! and HE''S BEEN BACK on his own!!!!

Our Annual Margarita Ball is coming up Nov 15, and I know we won''t get engaged before next year, because it''s really important for me that he ask my parents first and we won''t see them until the holidays (he is forbidden from proposing during the holidays). However, he just gave me the go-ahead to buy the Silver Manolo Blahnik Sedaraby shoes for the Ball!!!!!
