Well In some ways I agree the dollar has been too strong and it cost us jobs some weakening of the dollar isn''t that bad a thing but its past that point and if it slides any further could lead too worldwide collapse and even ww3.
I doubt it will get up too the levels it was again and it would be a bad thing if it did.

its the small vendors who get caught in the crunch.
They pay a premium for the conversion and even a small drop while they hold it means a big loss.
The large banks get better rates and can afford too hold it if they have too.
It is the little guys who need the money right now who get hurt the most by it.

For example lets say you had $1000 in dollars and the equivalent of $900 in bills that is in local currency and the bills are now $1200 because of the lost value,, what are you going too do?
That is what happened too a lot of small businesses.

A lot of outsourcing companies are going too go belly up because they are contracted in US dollars and pay out in local currency.
That is a good thing for workers in the US not so good for them.
But they are the engine that''s driving a lot of economies which is the boat that a lot of people miss seeing is that the gains that India and China have made have come from trade with the US and that wealth can disappear over night. The EU will not let them do what they have done too the US the unions are too strong over there and will protect the jobs much better.

There goes the diamond sales and down come prices.

protecting jobs protects spending which protects the economy .....the EU will hurt but not as much as the US.

we''ve really created the worldwide mess so i guess it is only fair we take the brunt of the fallout. heaven forbid the chinese refuse to except the US $ as payment on all that money we''ve borrowed from them........

food is going up. i''ve been stockpiling nonperishables. i think this is only the beginning and i think its going to be a really really bumpy ride.
