I just picked up a couple of new additions to the family. First up is a 1.55 ct. Tsavorite that my jeweler had bought years ago and he had pulled out a few months ago when I was planning my trip to France. I told him to hang onto the largest radiant in the parcel until I had some free cash after our trip. Here it is set in a setting from Jewelryhoo. I'm at about 80% satisfaction with this ring - there are some glaring dark diamonds in the halo and the underside of the halo isn't polished, but overall, it's not too bad.

Sorry for the blurry pics - it's not quite sunny in DFW, and I think my P&S may be going finally.

Now for the Gary Braun asscher tourmaline. Because of the weird weather, the colour isn''t showing up too well, but it really looks closest to a nice pinot noir.

Profile. I actually love this setting and have been hanging onto it for quite a while. It''s an LOGR setting.

Congratulations on your new tourmalines/rings!

I love the setting for the Gary one and bo the the green and Gary tourmalines are beautiful. I shall raise a nice Pinot Noir in toast to you and them tonight.

What a beautiful, and well cut tsavorite. The setting fits it so well despite the so-so diamonds. The LOGR mount looks to have much better quality diamonds, did you upgrade those?

Wow, you were in France!!?? I hope you had a nice time.

Thank you, CLE! I''m hoping you saw the post in your thread, but I adore your JKT amethyst pieces!

Lori, thanks, my friend!!!! My camera battery died right as I finished uploading, so I''ll try and add some more pics that I liked from this shoot before the batter croaked on me!

VapidLapid - thank you! I shall do the same!

TL - thank you, friend!!! Yes, W and I spent a week in the south of France (Beaulieu sur mer) and about 4 nights/5 days in Paris. If you look through my recent threads, you''ll see my post in the hangout on my trip!

Soberguy - appreciate your kind words!

LTP - Would you mind sharing the name of your jeweler? I''m from DFW (although I currently reside in Tyler) and need a good local jeweler.

I understand if you''d rather not.

Love your new rings! The color on that tsav is so nice!

Love your tsavorite! But honestly I think it deserves a better home.

Love your tourmaline ring - very nice job putting it together!

I do love the style and shape of the setting for the tsavorite, but like Yingh, I do think it deserves a better home, with better diamonds. Lauren, did you just get that setting from Jewelryhoo? I''m now concerned about the consistency of their diamonds when everyone was just recently mentioning how beautiful their default diamonds were (better than LOGR''s as a matter of fact).

Lauren, this shot is fantastic!!!

Too bad about the yucky diamonds in the tsav setting - is it possible to have your jeweler switch out the worst ones, or is it not worth the cost? I have to say they don''t look too bad in the photo, but I''m sure you''d notice them more in person.

And you MUST come to NY with us sometime - I''m dreaming even now of the photoshoot with all our rings. Clearly, we''ll need another glove!!

Lavatea - Not at all! I live in Plano, and my jeweler is also in Plano at Coit/Park. I've been training Aldemar at JB Jewelers for the better part of the last 3 years to get those claw prongs a bit more fine. We should have a GTG there if you have any stones to set, or have any custom pieces you'd like to have made. He's made my Citrine 3 stone and Scapolite rings and I love how he really listens to what I want.

Brandy_228 - thank you so much!

Lovinggems - appreciate your kind words. I should really snap a shot of the chaos that is trying to line up all of those rings on my cats' favourite windowsill. It's a madhouse with them jumping up on the windowsill when I'm not looking.

Yingh - I really love the style and feel of the setting for the Tsavorite. Honestly, if I had been involved in the design process for my e-ring, I would have asked WF to design something like this, so I was very happy to find it at Jewelryhoo. However, I didn't upgrade the diamonds, so for under $200, I can't be too disappointed in what I received.

Risingsun - thank you! I actually choose the ring first most days and then look for something in my wardrobe that will work with it.

Alene - thanks for stopping by!

Kribbie - we should set up some sort of PS timeshare, I think! Thank you!

Virgoruby - thank you so much!

TL - Yes, I just received the setting this past week. I'd originally had it made for a 7x7 asscher that Doug had cut for me, but the tsavorite ended up being a perfect fit and it just looked better in the setting.. I have other Jewelryhoo settings, and this one is like many of the others - from afar, it's lovely, but in macro mode you can really see the issues with it.

Cellantini - thank you!!! I've already decided that yes, there is going to be a NYC trip in my future. You guys seem like you have a blast, and I would have killed to attend the last trip! I think I might ask my jeweler if he can reasonably swap out the bad diamonds. Like I've said - it's not terribly noticeable in daily wear, but in macro pics, it really irks me.

OK, more pictures! Apologies in advance for all of the fingerprints.
