Somebody's gotta buy this stone, "If I won the lottery" edition

Somebody's gotta buy me this stone, I wannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnt :wall:

Can see a bit of a window on the hand shot though. Still, an amazing stone!

The colour and the clarity almost makes it look almost like a synthetic ruby.

I wonder if that means they couldn't sell it for that price and decided to auction it?

8.51 Ct Colombian Emerald 18 Karat Gold Diamond Cocktail Ring
$28,700
sold by Tsarina Jewels on RubyLane.com

Emerald paisley ring windowed elaborate gallery on rubylane.png

Moral of the story: If you've got a gem of beautiful hue around the perimeter, but alas, it's a bit shallow and windowed, make it look like you wanted it that way by giving it a stunning gallery that will show through the window.

Anyone with me on this? I started posting this as a joke, but the more I look at this ring (especially the hand photo on the website), the more I think it works, at least for this emerald.

Since this thread is to show off gems that "somebody's gotta buy," I assume links and prices can be posted?

I think it's incredibly clever! The color's gorgeous and it makes for a really interesting ring. Obviously, you wouldn't want to take this tact with a non-shallow stone, but here you're making lemonade!

I mean, I certainly wouldn't turn it down if someone offered it to me! The color is just...juicy. I just wish it were a cab.

Ok, so it's more like 'Somebody's gotta buy me this ring' but..wow.

A mermaid's ring!

I've seen many fanciful, architectural rings by William Llewellyn Griffiths on 1st Dibs. Quite the imagination. The teensy little jewel box rings (that actually open up) are intriguing.

And the video of the real thing - oops!

Yeah, as Freud once said to his local jeweler, "Sometimes a rock is just a rock."
P.S. That carved ruby toad in the Buyer Beware link was... well, it was something. Words fail me.

15+ct vivid blue emerald cut diamond to be auctioned for 48m

Personally, I'm not that impressed with the color. The Oppenheimer Blue and Blue Moon seem more saturated. It does look much better in the last video in the post, so maybe its a lighting thing. Wish we could see all three side by side :kiss2:

To compare, here's the Oppenheimer Blue:

The Blue Moon

(by the way I'm avidly following the dog house auction:lol-2: )

By the way, this 15.10ct vivid blue diamond ended up selling for about 57.45m

A few more videos.

The more I look at the video, the cringier it gets. All about it is meh, even the face of the photographer when he sees the stone lol

Although nothing to do with winning the lottery... This is just a beautiful unheated natural 4 ct. sapphire that is available and the price isn't exorbitant!! With a a GIA cert too!!!

FYI the cert says it is heated

Vivid red spinel, 20.21 cts from Mahenge:

A snip at $300,000, or nearly $15,000 per carat...

Not sure if this is lottery worthy, however, it is mine, a Congo blue-green Tourmaline, cut stone should be in the region of 20-30ct, and it will be an emerald cut stone by Jeff W.
