Somebody's gotta buy this stone, "If I won the lottery" edition

Wow, 10k per carat for a 6ct sapphire is not much cheaper than buying in US.
I thought this vendor was in Sri Lanka.

Same. I'm really surprised by the prices being thrown around. The vendors are also usually quite keen to know where I'm from which makes me think that they are 100% pricing according to what they think each individual can pay.

For sure, there is going to be a floor that they won't go below. But the discretionary part irritates me. Does it mean that they're going to give me more guarantees and better service? Doubt so :???:

4 ct., Sri Lankan, unheated "vivid blue" sapphire. USD21,000

Hi Lilith,

I know it's more than a year later, but curious who the seller is?

Am I crazy or is 820k a suprisingly low price for a 4.4ct deep bluish green diamond, all natural according to GIA? Considering it only has a GIA brief, maybe it has some major clarity issues. An interesting stone nonetheless.

I'm also surprised by the low price.

But pave diamonds mounted upside down?
A zillion culets pointing in every direction, begging to be chipped and scratching everything your hand glances against?
Really?

I find the look to be jarring and disturbing.
Brings to mind brass knuckles or that medieval torture device, the mace. :knockout:

Oh well, c'est la vie.
Bugattis and Birken bags are easily replaced.

Oh wow, didn’t even realize those were cutlets sticking up. Reminds me of an armadillo!! Lol!

Some rings are way too over the top. For example, gorgeous gem, but if I want a satellite dish, I’ll mount it on my roof. Lol!

More FCD madness...

IIRC the purple pear shape is a 0.7+ct vivid purple and the trillion green is a 2+ct vivid green...

4.x ct heated Sri Lankan sapphire, in platinum with diamonds. Absolutely sublime. Super velvetty and more cornflower like in person.

This 6ct flame spinel has been posted by multiple Asia-based IG vendors:
Every time it pops on my feed I get butterflies.

One more...
I've stalked this black opal for years. I'm sure some here have seen it. I don't think I've seen a better one barring harlequin/super rare patterns (but I'd be happy to be proven wrong). One other comes to mind, but it was in freeform shape while this is a more desirable oval cab.

Video is in the listing.

It was listed for 60k for the longest time.
5.24ct, 12.88 x 9.15 x 6.43mm

That's a gorgeous opal. This harlequin does it for me because of the paraiba blues. The gaudy gaudy ring showcasing it isn't bad either.

Wow! Almost worth getting a heated stone when it's that lovely!

So how does this story end?!

Can't help myself.
35ct unheated Burmese ruby 40+m USD

That's larger and allegedly more valuable than any auction house ruby as far as I know.
Can make a bootleg version with rubellite though!

Is it going to auction?

Is it going to auction?

Dont think so currently. It's owned by a high jewelery house called Philippe Petra. They have some insane stuff. The site is a little bare so their IG account/tag offers a better glimpse into their higher end stuff.

If I win the lottery, I want something like these. Some lucky soul‘s walking around wearing these fabulous earrings! I will have these suckers replicated. Yes siree, all 22.50 ct of these amaze-balls!!

I think we are officially in the "which lottery are we talking about?" part of this thread :lol-2:

If we won the lottery of life and were borne to that family who bought their daughter the Blue Moon diamond...

I want this demantoid. Yes, I know it's not the famed chrome green, but this metallic bluish green is my favorite color for this gem, and this is a fine specimen. . It's around five carats.

OK my turn to be that person: I think it will be dark. These super-vivid, super-saturated stones do better in small sizes, yes?

But if someone were to surprise me on Valentine's Day...
