#JOTW Something pretty during a dreary time - feel free to add yours!

In the last couple months, I ended up with one of my grandpa’s wedding bands, my grandma’s original engagement ring (the illusion setting was clipped off when she had a new wedding ring made), a flat band and a half round band both in rose, & reset my old five stone into a seven stone band in rose. So I’ve had a lot of new combination options to wear around my living room ;)2:lol-2:

Stunning collection of bands!

If the photos don't have to be solely bling...

This was taken on a trip to Korea a long time ago. The Hanja characters on the kimchi dish means "Three Generations". May all generations of our loved ones stay safe and healthy during this difficult period.

most of my jewlery comes from the mall

this is one of my better trade me (NZ email) auction wins
its peridot and aquanarine
it only needs to be resized a tiny amount to fit
im hoping now im on a diet due to fear of not being able to get a supermarket delivery before the cuboards are bare because im doing what the govt told us and ive been shopping nornally and i can't go out because Gary has too many risk factors20200323_171700.jpg
anyway im hoping by the time this is all over it might fit and not need to be resized - obviously not for my index finger20200323_171731.jpg :appl:

this little cacti has been flowering its heart out for 2 months on my kitchen window sill

excuse typos as usually
too late too fix it

Such beautiful pops of colours during this terrible time. Working from home is the new norm for us.

Thank you DiaDiva! Stay safe and healthy.

I love this idea, distract with beauty, remind us all that there are many joys in life no matter the circumstances.
A plant ("fuchsia")I bought last week, covered in hot pink buds, promising to attract hummingbirds...then it blooms this week, and the blooms are purple inside! Yes, please!

We have a dove nesting box on our side patio. The dove babies were born last week, but yesterday flew for the first time, and settled on our fan. The fan twirled slowly in the breeze, giving the babies a carousel ride!

And some random bling

And thankful for a new stone I'm still discovering, enchanting me with some wild , yet beautiful visuals:

Oh I hope mine grows up to be that pretty! I had never seen this plant before, was so pleased when I saw these first blooms. ;)

This depressing time is even more so for me...my rings have both been sent in...1 for general maintenance and re-rhodium plating, and the other to be reset into a completely new ring. I miss my sparklies!! Thank goodness for Pricescope. It’s a great distraction! 305B3432-5D47-48BA-95A7-4DE8FB16E603.jpeg

The second one, middle stone, will be reset into a similar setting to the following, only with 18k rose gold halos around new trapezoids, and the rest of the ring 18k yg.

awww yay you got that ring from her! i missed out and hoped it went to a PSer...she is a sweetheart!

since i missed that ring, i consoled myself with these 3 lovlies from her...i love them so much, dainty yet sparkly :kiss2:

Holy moly, you did pretty darn well for yourself!

A few pieces I have stored on my phone that I often look through for a pick-me-up. There are some feelings that only beauty can inspire... that beauty never fails to inspire...

@missy's father's gift to her mother in 1972 - a Cartier lightning ridge opal fit for a goddess:

An old PSer @soycoffee's set - OEC in Sally's Lotus setting with plain band. Heartbreakingly lovely in its delicacy and simplicity:

@cokitty's glorious, hauntingly rich spinel set masterfully by Steven Kirsch:

@iluvcarats's Van Craeynest bangle - old-world artistry that's rare and precious nowadays:

Not owned by a PSer - MC2's Flora pieces in bloomed gold. Organic dimensionality and simplicity, perfectly bottled and preserved

@hathalove's style. Talk about effortlessly chic ::)

Also not owned by a PSer as far as I know. This piece has hypnotized me for years - I feel like she could tell a thousand stories, but she wouldn't tell them to just anyone - you'd have to coax them out.

@mrs-b's hoops. Custom made to suit her in every way - size, weight, diameter, width, closure. Sometimes "perfect" comes in deceptively simple packaging ::)

@amoline's otherworldy akoyas. I never knew pearls like this existed before he shared these with us here. A living, breathing creature right here in our seas created these...

@eh613c's effortless and bold bracelet stack has three pieces I'd never have thought to put together - a delightful reminder to think outside my own boxes!

@kayla17's Tiffany enchant butterfly - I saw this piece in-person many years ago, the first time I'd ever seen rose cuts and full cuts juxtaposed, it took my breath away - and 5ct CZ pendant from her then-8yo son

@soxfan's old OEC cluster ring by CvB - just the most perfect halo I've ever seen, and the inspiration for my opal earrings. I adore everything about this ring - the proportions, the angle of the halo, the prongs, the milgrain, the metal colours...

@megeve's pave Trinity bracelet. One day I will buy this for myself, and I will call it My Precious and hoard it gleefully. One day. One day.

@icy_jade has an absolutely enviable collection of pearls - I have so many pearls photos that happen to be her pieces!! Here's one of my favourites - those colours are unbelievable:

My own old U-prong in unplated 14k WG. I wanted larger stones, so had this same U-prong style remade... I chose platinum the second time round, and I hugely regret it - I miss that soft antique-lace colour. I'll have my eternity remade in the right metal one of these days.

@JPie's ethereal rose cut cluster from JbG. Every time I see this photo I'm reminded of brisk, sunny mornings outside eating WeetBix whilst my mum hung sheets on the clothesline. I have no idea why this photo (of someone else's ring, no less!) unfailingly evokes this particular memory. But there it is.

And another day begins. Hope everyone is keeping well.

Mum's old amethyst necklace set in silver. I like the dichroism of the amethysts.

New seven stone from DK should be here tomorrow. With the California lockdown, his regular photographer couldn't take pictures. He was able to take a few with his phone and I thought this picture was beautiful. My inspiration came from mrs-b's seven stone.
Set in platinum, and 1.9 ctw. I will take more pictures tomorrow when I get it.

Edited to add a photo of our green cheek, yellow sided conure. It's so calming to be around her. We love her so much.
