Hi Bay Area PS''ers!
My wonderful FI gave me a day at a spa of my choice for Valentine''s Day. We are still fairly new to the Bay area and neither of us have been to any spas out here yet.

We would like to find a spa either on the Peninsula or San Fran. San Fran would be best because we really need to go to Macys at Union Square to do our registry (a little late)

and if we can do both in 1 day, that would be great!

Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

I don''t know whether this counts as a spa or not but I love Cinta salon right outside of Union Square. They have great nail techs and a fantastic facialist, but it certainly is a salon not a spa.

Oh if you were going to Valley Fair area I''d say Burke Williams at the Hotel Valencia. Don''t know about in the actual city though.

asscher and Gypsy, there is a Burke Williams in the San Francisco Centre.

What a lovely present from your FI! Very sweet and thoughtful

The best spa I''ve ever been to was the Fairmont Mission Inn and Spa up near Sonoma before they were owned by Fairmont. Unbelievable.

Since I know you don''t want to go that far, I''ve heard fantastic things about International Orange on Fillmore St, though I''ve not been to check it out (unfortunately). Here''s a link to their website - check it out

There''s a newish spa in the Presidio... fantastic! It''s called Sen Spa --- lots of options.

Hi Neatfreak - I''ll keep that one in mind for mani''s/pedi''s, thanks!

Hi Gypsy and Goldenstar - Burke Williams looks like a great option, glad they have one in the city. San Jose would be good but I think Macys in the city would have a larger selection of items to register for, don''t you think? Plus I''ve heard they have a large furniture selection and we are looking to purchase a sofa. So off to the city ...

Hey AmberG! I know, isn''t that so sweet of him?! He''s already started talking about spa trips during our honeymoon in Kauai (something tells me he enjoys these trips too

) That place looks awesome, thank you so much!

Thanks Thumbelina, I checked out their website too and it looks great!

I knew I''d get some great advice on here, thank you all so very much

Seriously though ps''ers, who wants to do another bay area gtg? Maybe in March?

Don''t forget Nob Hill Spa or the Ritz Carlton Spa which is within walking distance to Union Square. They have a spa at the Four Seasons on Market St but thats more of a health club / spa since its run by the SportsClubLA. But Burke Williams is definitely a great place thats 100% spa.

Mid March works okay for me. My mom will be in the hospital again after the 10th so a bling break would be greatly appreciated. Mid march then... after the 15th or so?

Thanks for the recommendations Calbear.

Gypsy - I''m so sorry to hear that your mom has to go back in, I hope she recovers quick. As for a mid march GTG, that sounds great! Maybe 3/15 or 3/16? I''d love to go to Lang''s again

I can''t wait to go (next Sat) Thank you so much for the recommendation!!!! I really appreciate it!

I''ll let you know how it is. We booked 60 min traditional massages and 75 min facials!

Oh and we had so much fun doing our Macy''s registry! We weren''t really planning on doing one, we''ve been out on our own for a while and have everything we need. But it never hurts to upgrade
