Beautiful stones, Harriet! I think the tsavorites would spin as studs, but, since they match your larger tsav so well I really think you need to put them to use!I am delighted to hear you have some square cushions for dangles as that would be my suggestion for the set you have posted! Tsavorites make fabulous dangles because of their sparkle. Oh I can just see them catching the light!
The spess is a gorgeous stone as well. If you did use 22 or 24k yellow gold perhaps you could make the band slightly wider. 3mm?
ETA: I forgot to wish you a happy birthday! Any fun plans to celebrate? Other than jewelry plans?
Ah, simplysplendid, my mints love you back.Date: 3/30/2008 11:56:00 PM

The spess and the mint tourmalines looks great! I agree with 18K yellow gold setting for the spess, but would include some diamonds on it as I like them blingy!
North/south. I''ll think carefully about the strength of higher carat gold, you gold expert.Date: 3/31/2008 12:11:08 AM

another thought: are you wanting east/west or north/south orientation for the spess?

Thank you!
Selkie,
What is that cat doing?!
Chrono,
You know you''re always welcome to come play.
Pandora,
I guess I could. Will squares still spin? I doubt little old me can deplete the tsavorite mines.
At least they will all have gone to good and loving homes!Date: 3/31/2008 1:12:50 PM

Harriet may not deplete the tsav mines on her own, but the lot of us together in this forum could probably put a good dent in it!
I don''t know what I''d do with the tsavs...SOMETHING! How about bezeling them with a big cushion diamond in the middle to form a necklace? That way you can wear your leverbacks, ring and necklace!Date: 3/31/2008 7:58:04 AM

How would you put the tsavs to use? I''m afraid I''m not into wider bands. You''ve seen my skinny e-ring. Thank you for the birthday wishes! May I come over for one of your gourment dinners? We''re off to Miami Beach for the weekend. Yay!

How about dangly plain leverbacks for the tsavs since you are worried about spinning? Personally, I would want to play up the orange color in the spess and set it in 24k yellow gold with a brushed or hammered finish.
i was going to suggest that also but i didn''t think it was the look she was going for in what she described with prongs. my spess is set in 22k hammered gold and i wouldn''t have it any other way.........unless it was 24k hammered gold!
are there side shots of your lovely ring here on ps somewhere? i would like to see the hammered effect. thanks!

I don''t think I could ever do studs in anything but a round because of the spin factor. I am a little too OCD to be able to deal w/ the lack of symmetry
