mz, thanks for the link. i certainly would not have known, that the ring was mounted as it is, from the avatar picture. i had no idea it was set high and had the bridge. very different and bold. you were quite patient is getting the finished product on your hand. very artsy.
there you go, that''s a plan. i can see you wearing that tropical print sun dress or white jeans and an orange tee with the lovely spees. just waiting to see the picture.
i think it would be electric but because the spess is so big, you may not actually like the finished product....unless you bulk it up a bit by which i mean go with a wider band. wider hammered gold band with side oval pinks might be very interesting.........and it will be a bold statement.
however, i still really think it doesn''t need the extra stones as it really does present itself well all by its lonesome.......
movie zombie
ps thanks, crown, i was actually going for a look that would be something from 2-4 thousand years ago.....maybe just dug up yesterday at some far away archeological dig......with a few modern tweeks. i wear my 2mm 18k gold wedding band with it.
MZ,
I don''t want bulkiness, which is why I threw out rose gold as a suggestion. That way, I can have pink and orange. Think rose gold will be too soft?
i didn''t think you wanted bulk so i was surprised that you''d consider adding side stones.....
18k gold is 18k gold no matter the color: 18k red gold gets its color from the copper used as the alloy mixed with the pure gold to strengthen it. 18k yellow gold has a white alloy added. and i forget what the alloy is that when mixed in makes it look slightly green: hence, 18k green gold, which i also like.
to get a really pink gold you will need to step down to 14k or even 10k gold. then you lose the richenss of the gold. i''ve had my spess up against my 18k red gold chain and while it looks good, its not nearly as good-looking as it is with the 22k gold.....or even my 18k 2mm wedding band that i wear with the e-ring.
but it is individual taste and as always beauty is in the eye of the beholder.........
Hi Harriet-
A very good friend of mine and I were in Tiffany''s and she fell completely in love with a Legacy with an amazing spessartite in that highlighter orange color (just like yours). I was wondering, can you tell me where you sourced your stone from?
Her husband is looking to get a ring like the Legacy (without the markup) made for her 30th birthday, so being the jewelry fan that I am, I''d LOVE to find something for them. YOURS is gorgeous!!!!
