Spessartite garnet - durable enough for everyday ring?

I find a range of Moh's hardness listed for spessartite garnet and I'm wondering if it would be suitable enough for a frequently worn ring.
Any advice?

I think it is tough enough. I have one and I have a halo on it. I have banged up the halo a bit but the garnet is fine. I think the reality is that gemstones will show a bit of facet wear under a loupe in time, and some may get chipped too. But they are meant to be enjoyed.

I really love garnets. I usually take mine off when I start doing house chores. Since I got “bit by the bug” I don’t wear the same color ring every day either so that helps. Go for it!

Garnets are hard enough and of a sturdy crystal structure suitable for everyday wear. Obviously if you are doing gardening, handyperson work or car maintenance, take your rings off. Better safe than sorry.

Depends how hard you are on your jewelry. I think garnets are tough stones in general, but I would take it off doing chores or at bedtime.

Dang - what do you do in your bed!?
I'm sure this was a joke, but actually some people like myself move/flail around during sleep. I once woke up with a ring imprint mark on my cheek, in the first couple days I wore my engagement ring, before I started taking it off before bed. Imagine if someone knocked the ring against the nightstand while sleeping!
