It is an interesting stone (will be sleepy for sure). Has crazy inclusions and throws off pink, red orange and I see some lavander. So I bid on it and won. I like 'different' stones here and there, so I can scope them and see the inclusions.

Now I am interested to see what it will look like in person, LOL. What do you think it will look like? I wish they could put it in a pod and ship it overnight LOL. I hate the 2 week wait for new stones!!!

I am thinking the inclusions will cause a glow or sheen within the stone. They seem to hold the light a little in the video. thoughts?

It’s hard to say how the inclusions will affect the overall appearance; I doubt it will help with the glow effect much as those are usually caused by microscopic inclusions that are evenly scattered throughout the stone (generally eye clean face up)

Seems like a good price and it really does seem to have potential to look really cool. Can't wait to see your photos and read your reactions!

I agree, I think for the price it could be a really cool and unique stone. Thats why I thought "what the heck!". I really wanna see how the light catches those inclusions, or growth lines or whatever they are. They seem to go in 4 different directions throughout the stone, and shift when the light shifts.

Oh, I like that very much! Had I seen it before I'd have bid on it myself. Thankfully I didnt see it

Depends on the price...I bought a pink sleepy spinel but at such a great price...I hope yours is good!

Was 55$.

It's okay for the price you paid. The inclusions might be a little distracting IRL. I like your little heart Mahenge much better if I'm being totally honest. I hope you don't mind.

I asked for opinions, so I respect your opinion TL :-D. I LOVE my heart mahenge too. I just saw this one and actually liked the way the inclusions shift within the stone as the light moves, and the colors it shoots off. It kinda reminds me of one of those 3d book marks. I was looking for a sleepy spinel, because I already have one that sparkles. THere was a nice one a few days ago, but I was out bid.

You know I will post lots and lots of pictures when I get it.

Thanks RockHugger. BTW, what was the nice one that you were outbid on? Just curious.

It was a 2. Something ct pink/ red sleepy spinel. Sold for 91 dollars. Why did you win it? Lol

TL, I just find it funny that it is already July 8 on your comment.....Maybe you have gone to Asia to purchase gems.
(I actually tried to follow the directions to set the time to no avail.)

For the price it is a very good stone. I hope that the color meets your expectations.

TL- so you did take it!!!! Naughty! LOL

It was you! :cheeky: These measurements? 6.8 x 6.8 x 5.8 mm I thought it had great color but faced up rather small for the size. I want to see lots of pictures of it TL! :appl:

Brandy,
Yes it does face up small, but I like the price for a 2.25 carat spinel. It's not top color by any stretch of the imagination, but I couldn't resist since I suspected it wouldn't have too many bids, and it really didn't for the size/quality. I will take photos.

Sorry to hijack your thread RH. Back to your gem now.
