I saw this lot of 3mm square cut tourmalines on Dana''s site, and having never bought from him before decided to give them a go...

This parcel has 36 stones for a total ~6.5cts, in orange, pink and blue-green colours:

After I ordered this one, Dana asked if I wanted a second parcel of matching cut and size.
Considering the price, I said why not

These ones are 32 gems for a total carat weight of 5.84 carats.
There is more pink, some green and a couple blue-greens.

At the moment I don''t have a clue what I will do with them, but I know I can''t wait to receive them all and start mixing + matching and lining up all the colours

I was thinking they would make a great size for a unique channel set band - say using alternating pink and orange gems in a lovely peach gold?

Open to other ideas too, and will do a fun photo shoot once they arrive

very pretty AJ - they almost remind me of glass tiles the way they''re laid out.

They are so cool! What about a couple of "diamonds by the yard" style strands? Or one super super long one?

End to end you''ve got 8 inches of stones. Bracelet with matching string earrings? Maybe a few left you could use in a ringeven if just sides to a larger but matching stone? THere are a lot of possibilities there. Nice buy!

I''d happily tile my bathroom with these babies! Then I''d spend hours in the bath gazing adoringly at the walls....... Tee Hee Hee!

Thankyou Cell - they do, you''re right. How cool would a splashback in these be

Thanks Deco - I like it, delicately bezeled "tourms by the yard" style in 18k Peach or Apricot Gold like this - yum.
I hadn''t thought of this, cheers!

Thankyou VL! aw, I am currently having a bracelet made with different gems..
but they are very different to these...any ideas for style of bracelet?
A channel set bangle-style could be cool..
I don''t wear earrings, but cheers for the suggestion

I feel like I should ''think outside the box'' and come up with something unique and fun for these.

They''re pretty AJ-and how fun to have so many at once to play with!

Deco, ohh you made me snort! Makes me think of back in the day, SNL had a commercial for Happy Fun Ball.."do not taunt Happy Fun Ball" hahahaha

a) a gorgeous bracelet
b) one-of-a-kind bathroom tiles
c) tiles for the Shuttle (instead of the ceramic ones that performed so poorly). Good reflective ability as well...

And in general, they are absolutely gorgeous. Glad that you bought them from Dana. So far I had no luck although his website has very nice stones.

My uncreative mind an only think of a bangle? bracelet? long necklace with abt 1.5 inches interval between 2 stones (coco chanel jewelry inspired)

Wow I didn''t know these were still available! I really like the colour combination.

I have an idea!
It is likely too big for a ring, would need to be a bangle bracelet..
but I am currently waiting for the baguette diamonds from this ring to get back to me,
and they are also looking for a project
5.gif

How about, one tourm than two baggs - or two tourms than one bag..
you get the picture

Hopefully, the diamonds will come back from being removed from the ring around the same time as Dana''s stones arrive, so I can play around with them together

(the channel setting was mega wonky in this ring, the baggs are actually nicely cut and pretty).

there are 12 diamonds total, 1.25ctw...
will need to look up the measurements of each..

but in the meantime, watchya think?

Oooh I love them as is! How about a brooch? Or how about set in a necklace like this? Instead of the baby picture obviously...only picture I could find

oops double post!

Oooh, oooh, like this necklace! But bigger! Like an invisible set ring, yanno...a huge, checkerboard one!

These look so fun! I’d make an entire set out of them to include a wide band, earrings, bracelet and if there are any leftovers, a necklace/pendant. I guess the next issue will be cost though; it is going to be labour intensive to set so many of these little stones.

I''m afraid you may now need another dozen dozen

Very lovely! Looking forward to seeing your pics AJ.

Thanks for looking all!

Cheers Packrat.

Thanks Crasru for the suggestions and the giggle

Like you, I had not seen anything that grabbed me on Dana''s site until now, even though his prices are super low. I know they are only small stones, but they appear well cut and at just under 38cts for $110, I was happy.

Dana is just as everyone says, extremely friendly and helpful.

Cheers chictomato!

Thanks LG.

Thankyou Porridge - actually, I like that last photo you posted..I would not wear a broach, but that invisible set pendant may not be a bad idea..cheers!

Hey Chrono - Thanks love! I think you have a point, to create some kind of matching set..but exactly, the metal and labour will be extraordinary in comparison to cost of the stones! What do you think about combining them with my loose baguette diamonds?

VL - really? what ever for? lol..I''m thinking it will be like Christmas when these come in...expect loads of pics, everyone

Thankyou Indy. I can see a saturday afternoon easily being wiled away playing with these and the loose baggs.

What great colors! The peachiness and the blues and greens work really well together.

What about a Tiara? You could start a trend that sweeps the globe!

sweet looking how you have the stones set up like that..some of those blues look very very good

Thankyou Davi!
I know, I was surprised at how well such different colours seem to work together.

Ha ha, I am certainly not fit for any sort of crown, nor have anywhere to wear one! But it's c a cute suggestion

Hi amguy,
these photos are Dana''s, but I agree it was cool of him to set up the colours as so
1.gif

Thankyou - I have been after a large (ring stone) blue-green tourm for a while to no avail; these may not be large, but I am excited about checking out the colour on the blues and blue-greens IRL.

I think a channel set band (or bangle) with the blues and greens either alternating or graduated would be really pretty..

Nice find AJ. There are so many possibilities with that number of stones and I can see you''re going to have fun making patterns with them when you get them.

Very pretty. The colors together are wonderful.

Who is Dana??? Awesome stones AJ!!!

Lori

Lovely stones.
Am sure you''ll have lots of fun creating something pretty.
