Hey ladies,
Here''s our first round of ideas for our STDs, I created it on Snapfish with the help of Paint. I''d love any feedback you have to give.

Also, does anyone know how to get a shortened knot.com website address? I want to include ours, but the url is super long...

Thanks in advance!

Ooooh I think that is super cute!

Wish I could help with the knot website address...but the picture and layout is great!

Hi Stephanie![:wavey

I can''t help you with the Knot''s website address but I LOVE the save the date!

Wish I could help too with the addy but I can''t... I ADORE YOUR STD''S THOUGH! They''re fabulous!

HH .... I LOVE IT! Love it!! So creative!

It will leave an impression and I bet looked at again and again! Great design!

I love it! So cute!!

I was under the impression that if you use the knot''s free page, you have to go with that long url. We just couldnt do it because no one would visit our site (we have each have ten letters in our last names!). So we invested in a weddingwindow website (79 for one yr) hwhich i just started working on but seems great and they also have lots of planning/organizing tools.

Oh my goodness way too cute!!

Very Cute!!!

YAY you like it, you really like it!!!

One small adjustment, I think I might make the "Save the date" line bold.

thanks ladies!

Love it but...could you do it so that your names are also written in the sand?

Or...write the entire thing in the sand???

That''s a really good idea, but I''m afraid I wouldn''t be able to do it neatly enough, the date took a few tries. Thanks though!

Earlier on another thread everyone was talking about how the woman''s name is supposed to go first...I really don''t see the difference, but I just thought I''d mention it.

you could go to tinyurl.com and make it a smaller url through that site.....

love your STD....very nice!

Looks great!

Hudson I adore your idea...and I was mesmerized when I first visited this thread as I couldn''t see how you got close enough to form the letters. I think you were hovering over them. And here I am back agin to peek...still can''t figure out the right side. I really think it is perfect.

There was some photographer that would write a message in the sand...either in morning sun or sunset and sellyou the photo. I thought I had him in my favorites, but I seemed to have deleted it. I thought it would be something to fall back on when I need that perfect gift-which I always do. I thought of you because I don''t know if you actually live close to the beach and could return as suggested and add more writings...but I couldn''t find his site.

Anywoo, I was searching for his site on an engine and found this photo. It made me think of you taking yours a step further and showing the two of you in the image. It would really be cute with the two of you in a similar position and your date visible. Again if you don''t live near the beach, all of this is mute, huh?

I saw invitations and thank you notes in my search too. You could take your great idea and use it again...just rewrite what you want said... I think what you have come up with will go over really well!

great job! i think it looks great. it must have been hard to do that cause you have to make sure you don't have any shoe prints near the writing.

i second the changing the order of the names so that the your name is first. i personally wouldn't bold the "save the date" - i think it will detract from the lovely picture and the sand writing.

did you write the date in the sand or was there a tool on snapfish to edit it into the pic?

I think that it looks great! I love it

Beautiful!

Hey ladies,
Thanks so much for your feedback. Now, a magician never gives away his/her secrets, but here''s what we did. We live about 45 minutes from the beach we took this at, but there are closer beaches to us as well. We wanted to go to a really picturesque place because we weren''t sure what would inspire us and we wanted to have other options available. Unfortunately we forgot to check the tide charts though so the tide was coming in. I think it would have been better to do low tide because there would have been more clean space available. We found a pretty clean spot, but there are still footprints there. I used a long broom handle to write the letters, they''re about 1.5-2 feet across. Honestly, I had to make them that big in order for them to look half decent-I''m not too artistic. FI took the picture. He took about 15 total, some from different angles. We just used our basic digital camera for it, and it was around 2:00 or so in the afternoon.

So those are our secrets! feel free to copy the idea-I copied it from someone on the knot...hehehe

I actually like the footprints. They add visual interest to the shot.

Wow! That''s one memorable STD!

One of my bridesmaids is a graphic designer. She came up with this version. What do you think?

I love the design of the swirls but to be honest, it looks a little distracting and it doesn''t seem to coordinate with the photo. Maybe coordinate isn''t the right word... I just think it would look a little better with one or the other but not both (the photo w/o the design OR a save the date with that design but no beach photo).

I totally agree. I think that, combined with the basket weave pattern (which I think she added to cover up the changes in the sand-she took out the footprints) makes it too busy. I''ve asked to see it without that element. FI also wanted our names on the front.

Zoe, shouldn''t you be busy teaching the youth of America??

I like the first one rather than the second one.. And as for the website, can you create a google page instead? Or use a tinyurl to get to your knot page? I am not real familiar with the knot stuff.

Ya caught me! Actually, I had a meeting all day so I didn''t have to leave as early as I usually do in the morning.

Here''s the latest version

HH
I like that the first one looks like a photo that was taken by you. The edited ones look like they could be generic beach images with an "insert date here" feel. Know what I mean??
I do like the Save the Date and your names closer to the date, rather than in the water though.

Of course, I really go for the "wow, you did that yourself" reaction whenever I can!

But, if you want something that doesn''t look like you did it yourself then I think your friend is on the right track with the editing.

Wow, I am not so good at expressing my thoughts through the keyboard this morning, I hope this has been constructive!!
