I had a very cheap spinel no one wanted to take off my hands and some spare baguette diamonds laying around. I had a dream of a very gothy three stone. Gold being astronomical and me wanting the metal blackened anyways- I went with silver to cast the setting. It was a huge success and ended up with a *cheap* ring that I absolutely love to wear.

9.4x6.3 2.42 spinel with about .30tcw of bags if I remember correctly.

Oh, I saw that on the jeweler's etsy page--I love it so much! I bookmarked it as an inspiration for possible settings. Where did you get your moody gray spinel?

I love this! Definitely gothy and the bezel looks comfy and practical (huge bezel fan here). Does the pattern on the ring shank go all the way around?

Yes I thought he did an amazing job executing my vision. For as inexpensive as the setting was he went though many rounds of cads to make sure I liked it.

I didn’t have him do the pattern all the way around. Can’t say as to why- just felt in keeping with the design to have him drop toward the back - there’s also that design echoed in the profile view of the shank but with two lines instead of three

I got the spinel second hand but I know it was originally purchased from an IG seller

Unique ring, thanks for sharing! :kiss2:

I love the East-West with baguettes setting, and am having an Apatite set in a similar design, possibly with a Rose Gold bezel, and the rest in white metal.

DK :))

Interesting! Would love to see pics of the profile and back when you have them. I'm intrigued by the industrial feel the lines give. Perfect with the oxidised silver.

Neat! Thank you for the pic - love the extra detail. :kiss2:

It's FABULOUS!! I love this and it gives me so many ideas!

Very cool ring! I have been loving silver jewelry and yours is beautiful! That was a great idea to have the open cutouts on the side of the center stone. My bezeled stones always get water trapped in/under them after I wash my hands and the cutouts would be a great solution to that problem!

That really is beautiful Niel. I love it paired with the bands which makes the spinel stand out more.

very cool and unique! who made it for you?

I love that you used sterling for this project! :kiss2:
I adore the grooves on the shank.
It has a very architectural feel.

Fine jewelry doesn't have to be gold!

The oxidation has mellowed out a little since I got it so don’t judge the splotchiness but I thought you might like to see the huge difference in having it shiny white silver and oxidized silver

What a great ring! The side by side comparison is AMAZING. Night and Day

This ring is amazing.

I love this! What a great idea for a setting and the metal is fabulous. @Rfisher and I were actually talking about this stone but assumed it sold. So glad you had fun with it. I have an EC tourm I need to set and now am plotting! Thanks for sharing
