Yes ally, let us know how it goes. It''s awful that you lost your ring in such a horrible manner. People sometimes. You wonder what''s going through their minds. I hope everything works out, and again, I''m sorry that this happened to you. It''s every ring-wearing girl''s worst nightmare.

Oh, Ally, I just got caught up on your story. I''m so sorry you''ve had to go through all of this. I feel sick just thinking about it--I can only imagine how you feel. I hope your ring is recovered or, if not, that you can start fresh with a new ring in a style you adore.

You know, if the police were competent, they would have a court of law subpoena all the transactions and link them to see the flow of money. Considering that the ring is worth a hefty amount, the purchaser(s) [don''t know how often it exchanged hands] would have to have either a large cash withdrawal, CC charge, or something else that can be tracked.

Someone knows where this ring is, but the police is not exhausting that option. I bet a private investigator could do a better job.

This being said, I don''t want to get you down, but I would rather try to empower yourself to do something about it (even if you do file an insurance claim, I would not give up on the cause).

Goldenrain, funny you say that because I had an update but was planning on starting a new thread. They recovered my ring yesturday... which is a good thing, but everything's a mess because my boyfriend had put down a deposit on a beautiful new stone....but we're trying to work everything out so we don't lose any money. I'm going to have some pics of something for everyone soon. It's a bit of a mess, and I have an exam on Friday, so it'll have to wait for the weekend.

Thanks everyone (by the way) for all of the support during this ordeal. Pics of something (not sure what yet, soon). I've seen it, it's in one piece, but the police will be holding onto it for a LOOOOOONG time

Thanks Pricescope (Irina I presume) and Kaliegh. I''m really, really happy and relieved, except a bit stressed over the fact that my boyfriend already put a deposit. But we have a solution (working on it) and I''m going to have something very pretty and sentimental to show everyone (oh yeah and sparkly too

). Hopefully everything falls into place.

I have been a lurking around the story of your ring for a while now and am so happy that you were able to recover it. It actually was one of the leading influences for me to go to leon. The pictures were amazing of your ring and then I began to follow all the technical problems and of course the loss of the ring. I am so happy you have recovered it and I hope they work it out with the deposit you placed on the new ring. Just wondering if the deposit was placed with a credit card they might be able to help "negotiate" for you to get out of the deposit.

Anyways, just wanted to say i was happy to hear you have gotten some good news.

No, not another ring. I''ve mulled it over back, and forth, and although we can afford it. I feel really bad about buying something that big when we still have any sort of mortgage. So unfortunately, it''s going to have to wait. My boyfriend wanted me to see the stone he had a deposit on but I didn''t even want to look for fear of losing all will power. He did tease me though and told me it was 2.33 carats.. and a stunner

Ok so what we did, was that we couldn''t get the deposit back, so my brother, sister, and I and my boyfriend spilt the cost with my father (WHO hasn''t purchased a present for my mother in 25 YEARS!!!! Yes they have a wonderful, amazing relationship, but they''re not gift giving people) for a present for my mom and dad''s 30 th year wedding anniversay this summer! Together the kids only contributed a small portion so my Dad picked it out ON HIS OWN! My mom is going to drop dead. She who hasn''t recieved a present from my Dad in SO LONG! They can afford everything, but my Dad''s just not the type.

So he picked it out by himself (I don''t have stats or anything, because I thought it would be rude to ask) but it''s at the appraisers and I told my dad what to look for. In any case, it''s a diamond necklace/pendent type thing, with BLACK DIAMOND accents. I''ll have pics up on Sunday so everyone can see. It''s pretty origina.!

The thought of someone else wearing your Leon was just perverse. It's wonderful news.

I would imagine because it''s evidence in the case they are building...

Thanks for all the kind words! I have a huge major exam today that I''m scared of failing, so some good vibes would be nice

I nearly had a panic attack yesturday, so suffice to say I''m not feeling confident.

Mara: Uhmmm.... yes... well let''s be totally honest (I know it sounds bratty) but when the police called me, I was "happy" I mean I''m happy, but after seeing Mat and you''s rock. It was a brief letdown. I could practically taste the 2 ct stone. But it''s ok, it''s not right for us at the very moment, but it doesn''t mean it won''t be later. I''m still in school....blah, blah, blah...yeah I''m feeling more then a tinge but I''ll adjust eventually. For now I''m anxiously awaitng pics from your ring.

I empathize with you about the finals right now I am about to take my last round of law school exams and am stressing out also; I couldn't imagine trying to study when I was worrying/thinking about my missing ring and upcoming engagement party. (I know the ring is found but I am sure you want it on your hand instead of some police evidence locker) Anyways hope all is well and I am sure you will come out on top on all acounts, school, ring, and engagement party!!!
