Still undecided about my wedding ring

I am not looking to add to your confusion, but I wanted to say that the DNA band is fantastic!! That is a stunner!

We will Harriet, thank you!

I wouldn''t be able to decide were I in your shoes. Both bands are beautiful

Your FI is really not going to want you to hang out with me anymore but it seems like you are torn between the DNA band and the tiny mushroom pave band. So, why don't you get both? For the days you want blingy do the DNA band for more subdued day wear the pave band.

That way you don't *have* to decide!

Ok, the other half says both. I'm not arguing.

Scarlet,
On the contrary, he told me to thank you of relieving him from bling-browsing duties. Btw, wasn't Niwakals stuff lovely?

Oh yay! Tell him he is a dear for saying yes to both! And tell him, it''s a pleasure shopping with you and I''d be happy to do it any time! The Niwaka stuff was lovely; still thinking about those stacking rings.

I''ll tell him your compliments.

Scarlet,
Me too! Shall we take another look? They are very well made.

P.S. Dancing Fire should be cloned too. He''s one of a kind. :)

I third that! Can I get one once you clone him?

I''m glad you''re getting both, Harriet! I can''t wait to see the Leon DNA band with your gorgeous ring! And I still can''t believe the SA at Tiffany...but you''re letting it go, so I will too!

Remember - he''s still a man, with all those male faults.

YAY! Your other half is so smart, and yes, we should absolutely clone that man!

So what''s the final verdict? Are you going for a mushroom set or a bright cut micropave band? And is it a Leon DNA or a Leon twist adaptation? The only thing that occurred to me with the twist is that it may sit higher off the finger than his DNA band, which might get in the way of those pretty prongs on your setting. I can''t wait to see the final product!

P.S. Thank you re: my little cushion and I cannot believe the SA at your Tiffany''s. I''m so impressed that you were able to come quick with the calm retort on the spot because it would''ve taken me at least an hour to recover from such a snarky comment. I don''t know about NYC but the Tiffany''s in Vancouver was a complete ZOO this weekend. Word of the price increase must have spread because there was a crowd at the engagement counter so deep and wide, it looked like they were waiting to order burritos or something much more mundane than diamonds! It was complete ravenous chaos and elbow to elbow people. I was so glad to have called ahead to have some rings put aside for me.

Hi Pixley,

That was my next question - mushroom or bright cut? I'm meeting Leon tomorrow to discuss adapting the DNA. I'd like it to be even more delicate.

Thank you. :)

That's a tricky one. Scarlet's is bright cut, correct? And would DS2006's Legacy band be considered bright cut? I think I'm liking the bright cut for some reason. There's something about it that looks more substantial as a stand alone than the super thin mushroom set pave bands without an e-ring. Maybe it's worth asking Leon if there's any risk of the mushroom set damaging your ering.

Scarlet''s is bright cut and I think DS''s is too. Good question about possible damage. How would you adapt the DNA?

Hey there-
Next time we have lunch, we''ll put my band next to yours to see how it looks. When you tried on the mushroom cut though I thought it looked beautiful. I think your shank is more rounded though so the mushroom cut probably matches better (although DS''s is the same as yours, and the legacy is squared).

Hmm...well I can''t afford another new ring now, but I''d be glad to go and play with them again if you''d like to go! Besides, those ladies were quite sweet! Are you considering the pink sapphire one?

I wouldn't adapt his DNA band; I think it's perfect as is. If you are going to do the twist version (something akin to what you tried on or like the Michael B.), I'd just make sure that it sits level with the surface of your e-ring, not higher or lower. I'm really interested in hearing what Leon has to say, considering he's probably seen every possible combination of his rings.

Hi scarlet Maybe you can convince CDNinNYC to join you both since she's got that beautiful new mushroom set Leon.

Same here, leave his DNA design as it is. I honestly like it much better than that twisted MB band. Then get the plain pave band similar to mine. You want metal touching metal, so it needs to be the style of the band I linked earlier in the thread. That little strip of sparkle is so elegant! I think you''ll love it!

I also vote for the plain micropave band for the primary wedding band and getting the other one for either a RHR or alternate wedding band when not wearing the e-ring.
I was right.

You know me pretty well by now, don''t you Ellen?!!!

I''ll report back on the DNA.

Scarlet,
Putting our rings together is a good idea. Yes, those SAs were delightful, but remember your promise re: browsing! :)

Woohoo that sounds like the best solution to me as well. The classic, and the ultra cool DNA? How could anyone choose? Your fiance is a doll (and he knows what is good for him)

He is. That said, I suspect he's just so tired of being dragged around jewellery stores that he's thinking "whatever you want, as long as you leave me be."

P.S. It helps that we're not doing bride and groom pressies since they are not customary.

Leon agrees with those of you who voted for the micropave band. However, as I'm a stubborn little thing, I'm still going with both. Now, the question is: Should the DNA be mushroom-set or brightcut? The micropave band will be mushroom-set.

I''m not sure I understand what mushroom set means, Harriet. Can you explain?

It''s the type of micropave that shows the least metal. There''s none on the top or bottom of the diamonds, unlike bright cut. Compare Irish Breakfast''s with Scarlet''s.

Woohoo, I''m glad you are getting both! That solves that problem!! I would probably wear the micropave band as your main wedding ring and switch it up with the DNA band.

I would go try on the MB twist DNA band and compare it to a flat DNA band to decide whether you want twist or not. I think the flat one might match better because the height will match better whereas the twist has added height that might look funny with your ring.

Woo hoo!!! Both! You lucky girl!

Would bright cut be safer to wear with your ering. I''m assuming you will be wearing them together. Am I wrong?
