I find the endless questions boring. It makes me wonder why these sometimes trivial matters are so important to the poster that they need to start a thread about it.

I hated the picture of the silver tape in a recent thread about noisy children in planes. I know it was a joke but I didn''t find it funny. I also felt sad when I saw a thread in hangout asking if it''s always the mans fault when divorce happens just after I posted about my divorce in family and home.

Anyway, thats my opinion and yes I have PMS.
I agree Maisie. I''m all for fun and haha and silly threads if people want to read it, but that divorce thread was in truly poor taste. PS works because it''s a great community with all sorts of folks. But to ask a question that heartless when one of the members of the community is obviously going through a difficult time was a dodo move if I ever saw one.

Isn''t it so annoying when people start posts just to criticize the behavior of other forum members? And start thread after thread asking ''innocent questions'' which are actually statements in disguise?

I guess the only way to discourage that behavior is to *stop feeding the _____*! At least that''s what I plan to do.

Who''s in?

Sure, I''m in. . .I haven''t read any of the responses because I just ate a bunch of food and my jeans are too tight now making me lazy, etc. Plus gotta pick kids up from school. Will the jeans button again? We may never know.

I hope your plan succeeds!

I have skipped threads like these for a long time and I find myself reading this today. And I just realised why -- I'm on leave today!

I didn''t find anything about this thread offensive...I took it as a tongue-in-cheek, good-natured ribbing amongst PS members.

Although at first I wanted to tell Deco that threads about thin veils belong in BWW.

Absolutely 100 percent positively no doubt about it right on the money couldn''t have said it better myself . . . correct.

Oh my gosh, monarch; did we just agree on something??

Awwww maaaannnnn....I guess so. Although I don''t remember really ever disagreeing with you in the first place. But if you say so...ok!

Sometimes it takes awhile to really *get* the sense of humor of some of our members here. As a newbie over 4 years ago, I felt like I was navigating treacherous waters sometimes, and even after a couple of years I was STILL getting to know how things worked. Change is always good, and sometimes threads like this, and Kenny''s threads, and DF''s threads, etc., force people to at least think outside the box for a second even if it causes controversy. As long as posters aren''t getting personally attacked and no PS rules are being broken I don''t have a problem with occasional silliness at all. I think it''s healthy, in fact.

I think it''s healthy as well. Good point Monnie. It''s good to think outside the box, gosh it would be boring if we didn''t stretch our thinking now and then. I love to see other''s perspectives on things, and issues. It makes me grow as a PS''er. I am glad this thread was started.

You see this kind of stuff in schools where some child will would try to create a sort of gang to freeze out a particular individual and there are lots of names for this kind of behaviour.
Decodelighted, do 'stop feeding the -------*!' if that's what you want to do but do you need to start a mean spirited thread and gather a gang around you to do it?
You have such a kind heart, klewis. I am sorry that you are already spoken for :-).

I found that particular joke unpleasant too. I''d have laughed at it before I had a child. Perspective.

Hugs to you, Maisie.

Ok, the duct tape was funny!

And that's coming from someone who loves kids.

ditto, loved it!

What is funny?
What isn't?

Humor is a funny thing.

I have hears that humor is one of the last things you get when learning a language and a culture of a country.

I have friends from Asian countries with fluent English who simply find humor based on hurting people or being unkind (which is VERY common in American humor) to be highly offensive.

Well, humour is very subjective. I found today that none of the people around me found something funny that made me laugh and laugh. The less funny they found it, the worse my giggle fit became. I''m sure they thought I was a callous fool, but it just hit my funny bone. Subjective!

AGBF, Mochi & Gailey,

gee, thanks gang

Mrs Mitchell, I think you hit on something when you wrote, "Well, humour is very subjective. I found today that none of the people around me found something funny that made me laugh and laugh. The less funny they found it, the worse my giggle fit became. I'm sure they thought I was a callous fool, but it just hit my funny bone. Subjective!"

One facet on the diamond of humor is being naughty.
Forbidden pleasures are far more fun.
We are not supposed to find blond jokes funny; that makes them even more funny, unless you are a grumpy old stick in the mud.
(Yes blond jokes can be about men or women.)

Exactly so!

What one person will find roll-on-the-floor funny, another will find offensive or annoying. I don''t think that will ever change, nor should it. When I laugh at something, I take the risk that someone will be hurt. While I''d try to be respectful, I don''t intend to stop having a laugh any time soon.

I have such a big stock of blonde jokes, too. My BFF is blonde and she sends me one a week. I wonder, is that a case of we can say it, you can''t?

DId you guys know its a full moon today?

I find anything terribly inappropriate just hysterically funny. It's probably awful. I really enjoy "your mom" jokes, and sadly it's because some people don't find that sort of thing funny at all. I'm containing laughter even as I type this.
