I just realized that the delicrate Yearick gown has been sitting in my closet bustled. Is that dangerous for the silk and beading? I mean in terms of pulling? How is it safest to store the dress?

IG, I wish I had an authoritative answer for you, but I''m afraid I''m no expert. How is the bustle done? I think my only concern would be that if the bustle point(s) on the train aren''t along seams then maybe it could put some strain on the silk? Does the dress have one of those hanging loops under the skirt? If so, I would use that instead of the bustle. If not, then maybe leave it unbustled? It''s in a dress bag, right? I seem to remember you making reference to hiding it in a black dress bag just like all your others so FI wouldn''t be curious.

Thanks Ladyciel! I''ll have a look and see if I can figure out how it''s done (I know, I shoulda been paying attention!). And maybe I should just call the seamstress and ask her.

Well in bridal shops they keep the trains unbustled and hooked on to the hanger, if you know what I am saying. It would probably depend on how heavy the train is and if the weight of it is pulling on the fabric. If I were you I would unbustle it.

ETA the safest way to store a dress is probably horizontally off the hanger, in a box, now that I am giving this some thought...

Drop that dress! I cannot believe your bridal salon didnt tell you to do this as soon as you got the dress home!! Silk can wrinkle and the beads can leave time dents in the fabric if left to long!! I am sure you plan to have the dress steamed/pressed before the big day...but for the time being, drop the train, hang the dress high up in a closet or other safe place and put a garmet bag over the gown lightly and untied to avoid condensation from forming.

Thanks Gals! I''ll hop to it.
