I just got word that we have a two hour delay so I have time to actually log on and browse a bit before heading to work. I''m wondering how summer brides are doing and what progress has been made in planning. What do you have left to do?
My FI, his best man, and my dad are going to look at suits this weekend but we''re all clueless about what to look for. Hmmm, I think that''s a topic for another thread.
I have an appt. with our florist in March and we''ll figure out flowers, etc. at that point.
I made an appt. with a third seamstress and this is the one who will do my dress alterations. I had made appts. with two other but this third one came highly recommended by the bridal salon staff so I''ll trust their judgement. I found a great shawl, very lightweight and it will cover my upper arms, which I''ve been concerned about. I had bought a wrap in the same champagne color as my dress'' sash but it wasn''t the most practical. I found the shawl and knew it would look great and would make me not so self-conscious. Even better, it was more expensive than the wrap but the salon didn''t charge me extra when I returned the wrap.
We ordered invitations from our printer and I can''t wait to get them in. We''ll probably send them out in early May (our wedding is in mid-July).
A few family members have begun booking their hotel rooms and my parents actually got a suite for my FI and I at the same hotel. Yay!
We made an appt. to plan our ceremony with our new officiant in the spring. Our first officiant had a conflict and she recommended someone she works with occasionally.
We finally decided on a restaurant for the rehearsal dinner. This took FOREVER to do.
I''ve contacted the salon my sister and I will use and have made appts. for us to get our hair, makeup, and nails done. I still need to schedule an appt. to do a practice session (this has a name but I can''t think of it...trial?).
We''ve canceled our plans for a Portugal honeymoon and we booked a hotel in QC instead. It''s going to be much less expensive and still a very romantic destination.
I think we''re at the point now of waiting for a lot to happen in the coming months. I now see why there''s such a rush of things to get done in the months immediately before someone''s wedding. Lots of little things to do.
