I would like to try that. How much does it cost approximately and how long does it last?? I went to my pharmacy today and put my name on the list for the Jergens stuff, they said they will get it next week.

I walked into Wal-Mart today and they had a shelf-full of the Jergens lotion both the light and dark lotions...maybe because it''s in CA??

I bought the Olay Quench Radiance Reviver Body Lotion today. The girl at Walgreens said that both it and the Jergens had been sold out for a while, but they had just gotten this stuff in. Here''s a review.

I just applied some... we''ll see!

I can''t believe I''m getting into being tan this year. I used to be all about the pale!

Okay I hit the Wal-Mart tonight with a buddy and they had a ton of the Jergens Glow. I will let ya''ll know how it goes.

Well, I did a very bad thing yesterday...I actually went into a real tanning bed--an Ultra Bronz...my first time ever. I wound up hating it. All I could do was lay there for the 14 minutes thinking how incredibly bad this was for me. I know too much about skin cancer (my first husband died of it!) to remotely relax and enjoy the experience. So, when I got out, I told the girl I hated it and she suggested the spray booth Mystic tan. I know ame said it turned out badly for her, but it worked great for me. Today I am a nice light golden brown so it looks natural. No splotches or streaks--even on my feet. I will probably go back to deepen it up a bit, but I like the fact that it does not look so dark and fake. I will probably get the jergens lotion to keep it up.

Anybody used Victoria Secrets' Beyond Bronze products? I haven't, but was very impressed by the subtle color difference between my hands when they demonstrated it on me. It's just a bronzing lotion, but they come in various VS fragrances. Wondering if anybody's had luck with this.

ETA: Island Dreams - My mom was diagnosed with melanoma when she was about 25. Luckily, they were able to remove all of the cancer, but I'm very aware of sun damage too. I actually had a suspicious mole removed when I was younger (8??), which was benign. Of course, my dumb sister (I love you Amy!!!) fake-bakes all the time, to the family's and her dermatologist's chagrin....

I applied the Olay Quench Radiance reviver all over last night, and then just to my legs this morning. Keep in mind that I am pale beyond pale and also very freckled.

I can already see a *slight* amount of color in places where I''ve only made one application.
My stomach, which is literally eggshell white, now has a reddish-yellowish-brownish (NOT orange) tint that is very much like what I would look like if I managed to lay out everyday for a week for about 5 minutes to avoid burning (can you see why it''s not even worth it for me to get a real tan?).

My legs are a bit darker than my stomach, but it''s harder to tell because they''re darker anyway so there''s less of a contrast.

There''s no streaking, blotching, or other nasties. It''s easy to apply (like lotion). VERY subtle, gradual, non-orange color.

Might be the next best thing to the jergens?

Velouria, that sounds great--I am similarly pale and that''s exciting that it worked so well for you!

(My friend and her bf used to joke--unbeknownst to me at the time--when the blinding sun would come in the window in the morning and wake them that it was, "AAAHHH, Blueroses naked in the window!!!!" Nice

Needless to say, I think I''ll give this a shot!

I''ve used the Mystic tanning booth many times and have great results. I''m glad it worked for you, too!! Don''t you just love looking like you just spent a week at the beach with NO sun damage?!

OKay I just called walgreens no jergen''s yet, but they do have one olay left and they are holding it for me until I get off work this afternoon. I can''t wait to try it!!!

It''s supposed to be a no brainer, we''ll see. I have a graduation on Tuesday so I''m not going to do it before then, in case it looks awful. I will try it later in the week and report back.
2.gif

It''s very subtle. I don''t think it is possible to mess it up, you barely see any color after one application, but after a week of use you have a nice glow.

Strangely, none of the drugstores around here are sold out. Maybe because I''m in CA, and not as many people need self tanner?
Hi. I have the Jergens tanner. I am fair skinned. The first time I applied it, several hours later I was streaky and slightly orange!
29.gif
. I couldn''t believe it! Today I decided to try it again to take the "edge" off my whiteness. This time I used the product very sparingly. I am pleased to report that I am still atleast a shade darker(even though that''s supposed to take a week) but I am streakfree!
36.gif
. I should note that usually self-tanners do not agree with me at all. I always get streaky and orange! Even with Neutrogena''s Build a tan last year. I did buy the neutrogena mist tanning spray to try. Has anyone tried it? How was it? I think I will stick to the Jergen''s for now though.

Well i am happy to report that the Coppertone moisturizer with self tanner is wonederful!!! I used it this morning after getting out of the shower and I have a nice tan. It is very sublte. Can''t wait to compare it with the jergens natural glow. It goes on very easily and dries in no time at all.

I used the olay last night and then put some on my legs this morning. Not sure if its working or if my eyes are playing tricks on me...I''ll have to wait and see if anyone notices.

When I was at Walgreen''s yesterday another lady came in looking for the the jergen''s NG, but they were out, so I told her about hte olay and she got it too. My grandma did manage to get the jergen''s yesterday at a different walgreens, so I''ll be trying that one soon too.

CVS is sold out around here. We don''t have a Walgreens that I know of. I am still waiting for my phamacy to get it in.

Love This thread. Good Idea.
I bought the Jergens Natural Glow last night at Walgreen''s. They were all sold out of the one for Fair Skin (which I am) so I bought Medium Glow and applied it this morning. Exactly how long do you have to wait for it to dry?
I''m at work now and feel slightly sticky. Anyone else have this problem.
I hope I don''t get orange and streaky while at work! Sunni scared me a little bit!
Let you know how it goes.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the Jergens at my local Walgreens today - not even on the shelf yet. Can''t wait to try it - hopefully it will hide some of my soon-to-be varicose veins. Blech.

So I said I was going to try the Neutrogena Micro Mist Sunless Tanner last week before my trip to CA, but I chickened out, so I think I am going to try this week. I went online to neutrogena''s website and watched the "helpful tips" video. They made it look so easy, but I just know that has to be a trick. I will let you know if I turn out looking like a cirtus fruit.

I read that it is extremely important to exfoliate, exfoliate exfoliate right before and after to keep areas from being over exposed and to blend areas that may have been on accident.

Okay I am loving the Jergens glow! I am pasty as anyone who has seen the pictures I put up can see and I dont like to fake bake or sun outside so I was pretty light. I picked up the medium one becuase it had more of a beige undertone and I am looking pretty natural. It takes me about four minutes for it to absorb into my skin enough to get dressed but I am always freash out of the shower and I think that may help. JCJD I tried the VS Bronzer but it gave me a rash becuase of the heavy perfumes and I was itchy for days.
14.gif
Oh and I have been putting the Jergens on my face I am not sure if you are supposed to but I have been and it doesnt seem to be bothering me. I hope everyone else is having a streak free experince.

I just tried the Jergens tanning moisturizer this morning for the first time. I did feel sticky all day, but no different that a lot of moisturizers make me feel. I liked the smell, though. It kind of smelled like tanning lotion.

It went on very smoothly and evenly except for my back. I couldn''t reach it. How am I supposed to get it on my back?? I asked my husband, and he said that he is not willingly to put it on my back every morning.

I had been wondering about that too Windy! I figured the rest of ya''ll had your DH or SOs living with you and thus didnt have such issues....hmmm any ideas?

I now have the Jergen''s and the Olay. I tried the Jergen''s last night and then just my legs this morning...it has a very strong smell...the good thing is that my co-worker can''t smell it. But it also has a little glitter in it.

The olay smells good, but I''ve only used that one once too.

I love the moisturizer by coppertone and broke down an ordrerd a tube of jergen''s off ebay. I''ll let you know how they compare. The nice thing about the Coppertone is that there is no smell at all.

I can''t find any Jergen''s Natural Glow ANYWHERE, and I''m in So. Cal! I''ve been to Walmart, CVS, Rite-aid, Target, and the shelves are empty. They all say they sell it, but the minute a shipment get in, people with rain-checks or on waiting lists get first dibs, and then the rest is scooped up by people buying 6-10 tubes each!

I''m dying to try it out because I''m so pale, and I have a pool part to go to in 2 weeks AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Where in So Cal are you?? I went to a SavOn yesterday and they had a whole display FILLED with the stuff! My local Wal Mart and another SavOn i saw had smaller displays, but still nicely stocked...

I found some at Target in Mission Valley, San Diego...and they only had the light, which was great for me! I used it yesterday, and I noticed that it evened out my skintone, and I''m hoping to notice more color today. I don''t know how much I like the smell, but it''s less "metallic" smelling than Lancome!

I''m blonde, and my skin is really transparent, so when I have "no tan" at all, I''m sort of bluish....if I get cold I''m more like purple! Amazingly enough, I can get really dark if I''m very careful about sunscreen and get past the "burn" stage. My mom is very dark, so I must have gotten at least 1 "tanning"gene from her! She has some mixed heritage, and all of her brothers and sisters (14 of them!) are dark like my grandfather...and none are pale like my grandmother. My dad is European, and I got his coloring big time! Genetics are the weirdest thing...

Me too! Everyone else in my family is skinny and olive-skinned. I''ve always had to fight my weight, and slather on the sunscreen to prevent freckles. My husband said I''m the only Asian he''s seen that has a freckles on the face and shoulders.

AchiO: I''m in South Orange County (Mission Viejo/Foothill/Rancho Santa Marg/San Juan area).

Well, I''m half-Chinese, and I''ve got tons of freckle on my face and shoulders, and so does my mom and grandmother (Grandma was born in China, Mom is 1st gen ABC). So you''re not the only one!!

Thanks Matatora. I though the perfumes might be a problem.

Just my luck. I had broke down and ordered the Jergens off of Ebay. Today I went to Rite Aid and they had tons of it.

I found some Natural GLow at Target during lunch! There were 5 left, and I scooped up 3....they were all the medium-dark tone, so I hope I don''t turn orange!

I went home immediately and stripped to apply ( I work only 1 mile from home) and so far (about 1 hour later), I haven''t noticed a color change. It IS a little sticky, but I made sure not to apply too much for my first "coat" because I got the medium-dark, and didn''t want to come back to work looking like a freak.
