I highly reccomend that you apply it right after taking a shower. I think then it goes on easier and you won''t get that sticky feeling.

I picked up the light Jergens NG today if anyone wants it...I saw tons at the grocery store.

The freckles kill me! I only have them on my shoulders, back, and chest! The rest of me is pretty freckle free....so they look out of place! My girlfriend is half Phillipino, and she has dark skin and she is covered with dark freckles...all over her face too. They look really exotic on her...

I forgot to put the Jergens on today...and I don''t want to put it on and get in my nice white sheets!

I''ll be trying my Jergens on tomorrow after I work out and have taken my shower. I''ve been wanting to use it, but I''ve been in the pool a lot in the past couple of weeks and didn''t know how chlorine would affect it. Now that I''m done with the pool, I know I can try it out.

Just a quick note to the working ladies about the Jergens glow, the lotion has a small amount of glitter in it. I dont know if this would bother anyone I just thought I would mention it in case of any issues with office dress code policies.

Hey Apple - which grocery store?

VelouriaL: HEB...they were fully stocked. Walgreens should have some by now too.

Very true. I applied after my shower this morning, and I''m feeling a lot less sticky than yesterday. It might be because the hot shower opened my pores for faster absorption.

Which location(s)?

Its the one in Sugar Land at 59 and Grand Parkway

Tawn, I didn''t realize you were in SD too! I have been looking at Long''s and had no luck, so I''m going to try SavOn and Target!!

It''s amazing how big San Diego is...and yet we always have to go to a zillion places to find what we want! Or to find a good place to eat without waiting for 2 hours in line!

Thank goodness for In and Out!

I''m pretty impressed with the Jergen''s so far!

Okay... I''m on my third day of the Jergen''s lotion. My feet - especially my toes are very orange, and I guess I didn''t put any on the side of my foot b/c it''s white. I guess I should not put it on my toes???

I also quit putting it on my face b/c it did break out my face... but my face is super sensitive. The color looks nice on my legs, though.

Now that the hunt is over and I got the Jergens, I still am very happy with the Coppertone sunless tanning lotion. It goes on easily especially after a shower and gradually builds a nice and natural looking tan. I tan very easily from years of playing competitive tennis. Now I want to avoid the sun as I''m getting older but still want the tan look.

I''ve used the Jergens (medium) lotion for the last 2 days...I''m not seeing a HUGE difference. Are my legs ghostly white anymore? No, but it doesn''t really look tan either...I''ll keep trying it for the next few days to see if anything changes, but so far I''m not REAL impressed...I may go back to my Ban de Soliel Streakguard Foam....

If you think about the Jergens Naturual Glow isn''t supposed to make you TAN, just give you a NATURAL GLOW. Being a fair skinned blonde, I never have the goal of looking tan (at least compared to other people), but all I ever want is a "natural glow" so that i look healthy and not irridescent, glow-in-the-dark, white. Obviously you really want to look Tan, then go to a tanning bed, use a real self-tanning product, or lay out.

We were disccusing sunless tanners today and an intreasting point came up. They are not made from hispanics or asians. The tonal variations they come up with are aimed at caucasions. Believe it or not this nearly ending up as a fist fight

. I had thought that not everyone here was so I was just wondering is there anyone here who is another race (I loathe that word) and use a sunless tanner that they enjoy? Also just curious does anyone think this is racist or just a matter of practicality? I had not thought about it but now it will bother me.

I have use one called "Fake-Bake" I think they sell it on the Sephora website. It is awesome, it takes patience though because you HAVE to exfoliate first and then make sure that you get it all over wearing latex gloves. I usually sleep with it on and shower in the morning. You will look really really dark when you put it on, but don''t be alarmed because in the morning it looks like a great tan and you don''t have to do multiple applications for it to look great. Definitely not for those with very fair skin!

Hello Ladies! Just found this thread. I have been on the hunt for the best self tanner for about 4 years now. I''ve tried sooooo many. There are a lot of good ones for different reasons. Last year I found the BEST ONE YET!! I am upset at myself for telling so many people about it because now it''s always sold out on the shelve- but I know to stock up now
2.gif
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but... Loreal Sublime is the BEST self tanner yet!! It comes in many variations. Gel, tinted, untined, face, med, med-deep, deep. I have found the Gel to work better than the tinted lotion- although the tinted lotion gives you an immediate bronzy glow- the Gel tans u better. IF you are fair- start with medium. If olive or darker use the med-deep or deep. I''m pretty fair, so i use the medium on day 1, then the med-deep the next day, then i skip a day, and then use deep. I keep a great tan for about a week and a half or more. Loreal Sublime has vitamin E in it so it leaves your skin soft- not dry- but make sure to moisturize a lot! It will make your tan last longer and make your color look healthy and natural. Also be sure to exfoliate for a couple of days before starting this process again. BEST body scrub ever- Dermalogica Body Scrub!! It''s a creamy body scrub packed with essential oils and awesome exfoliants- you will be in love. You will love this self tanner-It gives you the most natural, beautiful color. You can use it for a couple of days until u achieve the color you want. The gel is clear so i suggest putting it on near a window/sun so u can see where it''s been applied. And bonus- No bad scent!!

it''s under $9 and you can find it at Target, Rite Aid, Longs (i think), Some grocery store chains. For all of you San Diegans- leave some for me!

Have fun! And don''t forget to wash your hands! helpful hint- wash hands and then apply lightly to the tops of hands with a cotton pad. when in doubt- mix a little plain lotion with some self tanner around ankles, feet and tops of hands. this will prevent you from messing up.

CIAO!

I used the Coppertone light to medium self-tanner, and it made me look great. It gave me a better color than when I tan in the real sun... less red and more brown. Except for some that I got on my elbow. I also talked my husband into putting it on my back, which was a miracle.

Matatora - They probably did market research on it and decided that there wasn''t enough of a demand for the product in shades suitable for Asians and Hispanics. I don''t think it is racist, it''s a property of the market. Of course, I''m caucasion, and the product looks good on me, so of course that''s what I think. If I were asian, and the product looked bad on me, and they didn''t make it for asian skin tones, I would be pretty mad, too!!

You might could order some from overseas. My friend is from Bolivia, and she brings beauty products back here that don''t exist in the U.S.

Matatora - I just thought of one more thing. I know in the mall, there is a make-up line for black women. Is there also such a thing for Asian women? If so, maybe they carry a sunless tanner product.

If not...you can invent it and make a lot of money!!

Are you using this stuff on your face too? I''m scared to use anything because I think I will break out or have some reaction.

Most of my Asian friends stick to Shiseido, but I use MAC. MAC has foundations and compacts that start with C....I personally think that stands for "chinese" heehee. I use a C2, and the color is very natural on me.

Anyhoo, as far as Asian self-tanner, I don''t think it would sell well. Most Asians think white porcelain whit skin is beautiful. They prize "caucasian" features such as fair skin, light eyes, tall/narrow nose. I have people asking me why I want to look tan because I was "blessed" with white skin. In fact, if you go to most asian cosmetics counters, you''ll find skin bleaching/lightening products instead of self tanners.....don''t believe me? Go to a Shiseido counter and ask if they have those products, you''ll be surprised. I guess I''ve been brainwashed by my husband, he''s Asian, but grew up here in sunny so cal, he can''t stand pasty white asians....He''s pretty bronzed, and wants me to be bronzed too.

Lastly, my critique on Jergen''s natural glow (medium)....while it doesn''t make me orange, but it makes me yellow! I look kind of jaundiced. If you don''t compare me with someone with a real tan I look fine, but next to my husband, I look a little yellow....I don''t care though, I''d rather use this stuff than burn/age my precious skin by tanning.

I use the Jergen''s Natural Glow. It doesn''t make me look yellow or orange. It doesn''t do much of anything, as far as I can tell...lol. Actually, it''s a pretty good moisturizer and it evens out my tan pretty well. That''s all I really need. I am fair skinned, so I never get dark, but if I''m out in the sun with shorts on or something on my feet, I get some tan lines. I hate going to the pool with white upper thighs when the rest of my legs are tanned. So I use the Jergens to sort of even things out. Works pretty well.

Early in the summer, when I have no tan at all, I''ve used Bananna Boat self tanner in the light to medium formula. It works well as a fake bake, and doesn''t look streaky or off color, either. The only thing I don''t like is that it smells funky after a few hours.

Windy, did you exfoliate your feet really well before you put it on? I think the big key to getting all of the sunless tanners to work well with out streaking or coming out looking wierd is the exfolitating part. I put the Jergens on my feet especially because they never tan as well and evenly as my legs, because I''m usually wearing tennis shoes with socks or sandals when I''m out in the sun. I use exfoliating foot cream, plus scrub my feet, ankles and toes really well with a scrubbie before I put the lotion on. Same with my knees. The first few times I used any self tanner, I didn''t pay close attention to doing this, and my heels, toes, and knees came out a wierd coppery orange.

I wouldn''t use any self tanner on your face unless it''s specifically formulated for your face, either. I think most of them, even the ones for light skin, are too "strong" for faces. There are some out there for faces, I''ve seen them. I don''t worry that much about my face looking tan, though. It seems to blend with the rest of me ok the way it is. Sometimes I use a little bronzer on my face. It''s not permanent, and it doesn''t cause any kind of breakouts.

I''ve been using the Jergens fair for about a week and it''s just fine. What''s funny is my legs darken up in different ways, just like they do in the real sun - darker on the knees and thighs than calves. I''m not really sure what the deal is with the glitter tho. If I wanted body glitter, I''d buy glitter! But it''s rather subtle and mostly unobjectionable.

No, I didn''t scrub my feet first. I''ll try that.

I put the Jergen''s on my face, and it did break it out. It was just too thick and heavy.

The Coppertone stuff did not break out my face, but it really made my contacts and eyes burn for days. What is a good product for the face? I like for my face to be tan so that it evens out the skin tone.

I give 2 thumbs

up for the Jergens!!! I bought it this past weekend and slapped it on my pasty white skin and was amazed at how the color developed evenly

I prefer to put it on right after showering as it blends easily and leaves a nice feeling, not sticky at all. I have very fair skin, blonde hair and blue eyes, so a little color goes a long way for me!

What I like most is the price......so long Mystic Tan
