Superstitious?

I want to possibly change the date of my wedding to september, because of a number of reasons, but the only date at the venue we are looking at in available on the 13th of September (Saturday) Is it weird to not want the date because some day our anniversary will land on a friday?? My friend is getting married October 13th this year and my FMIL made that comment.

i think most people prefer not to take the 13th b/cause of its association with "bad luck". Now I''m sure there are plenty of people who''ve married that date or been born on that date that have had nothing but good luck, but i think if there''s a choice, people will avoid it (which is probably why it''s wide open).
if this is the only thing holding you back and you and your FI don''t care, then go for it. it''s a personal decision and a lot of wedding stuff is about feelings and tradition, so it really depends how much a "date" and perception of that date ties into priorities for you and your FI compared to the pros of going with the 13th.

I was somewhat superstitious, but then my DF and I shared our first kiss on Friday October 13th 2000. Any superstitions I had after that went completely out the window after that!

...so we set our wedding date as October 13th of this year at the same time we first smooched

. In the past we have celebrated our 'dating anniversary' on October 13th and also do something special for Friday the 13th just to have an excuse to go out and have fun.

ITA agree with Janine...if both you and your fi are okay with it, then do it. If either of you have doubts, I would pick a different date.

ppl prob stay away from the 13th bc of the whole "bad luck" thing....but if it doesn''t bother you then I wouldn''t worry about it...

Good News!

If we decide on the boat they have two boats and they are equal size (which I thought one was smaller) so, every Saturday is still available in Sept.! Woohoo

We are still leaning toward this, we saw it two weeks ago sailng back with all the lights twinkling and the paddles turning, it was beautiful to watch, kinda sol FI on the idea hehehe
