Sweet Peridot for Mom<3

Purchased this ring from a fellow PSer for a great price!

The stone is such a vibrant & lively apple green & my mother had always wanted a stunning example of her birthstone so I pulled the trigger, had it resized, & gifted it to her for her August birthday!

The setting is simple and sweet, & was created by Sally at Heart of Water in 14k yellow gold <3

How ironic that my first piece from her shop is a gift to someone I love, as I always pictured her so loving & kind herself!

Luckily my mother loves it!
If I can, I'll have to snap one of her wearing it, but until then you'll only get me! lol She also complains of her "old lady hands" but I always shush her & remind her of how comforting and kind those hands are to me!

Oh & @Daisys and Diamonds this is for you girl! You said you wanted to see more pearls, garnets, & peridots from me, so I plan to deliver! lol

Beautiful! I love it and what a wonderful thoughtful gift @Garnetgirl for your mom! I happen to adore peridot but it is my birthstone so perhaps that plays into it. Their color to me resembles that between green chrysoberyls & demantoids: a rich, bright, & happy apple green!

Thank you Missy! Ive made it a tradition to spoil my mom with a nice piece of fine jewelry every year for her birthday as shes also into sparkly things! Haha
My mother also felt the same way growing up & didn't marvel at or love peridots until she became older and realized that it was such a unique and happy color! I've never had that problem but I'm a garnet baby, I've always admired peridots and found them to be so refreshing, like biting into a piece of fruit!

You have all that beautiful turquoise in New Mexico
Wanganui claims to fame is we have the 3rd most temperate climate in thw world ! Dont ask me who #1 & #2 are
You are welcome any time but best to wait till after we have installed insullation - our house has only 2 temperatures - too hot and freezing cold

I don't have many peridot pieces at all. By the time I started loving peridot I started loving diamonds even more lol. But I do have one very special (to me) piece bequeathed to me by a dear family friend who was an antique jewelry dealer. Sadly he died too young but he remembered me in his will and left this to me. I will cherish it always.

The yellow-greens never seem to grab my attention, but I really like the hues with very little yellow.

Every now and then there’s some fantastic greens popping up. Still haven’t found my dream piece, but for now this will do..

It's such a magnificent gemstone and a marvel that the earth creates such bright natural gems!

She's all back from getting resized & a good cleaning and my mother is in love! She said that it's stunning! I'm so happy she adores it!
