8FEEC27A-8486-4C87-914B-FFA3E507AD81.jpeg I thought that people did not really make synthetic tourmalines, but then I saw this on a website and now really want this colour!

Have you ever had experience with synthetic Tourmaline? How good/bad is it versus real ones? Any watch outs?

Never heard of synthetic tourmaline before. Is it new?

Think it is a synthetic somewhat ( spinel, corundum) - a synthetic tourmaline doesn't make sense ( to expensive) - the tourmaline group has a very complicated chemistry.

Quite sure it is a mistake...

Maybe you ask him....

Synthetic tourmaline was produced experimentally by a German lab some years ago. I was unaware that it was commercially available.

Probably a simulant, not a synthetic.

The stone weights 3,7 ct - we would know it if there is synthetic tourmaline in the market.

I will send an email to the vendor. Google synthetic tourmaline, gia or agl or other labs, organisations - they would know it before a custom cutter in sweden is able to purchase and cut a rough item large enough for a 3,7 ct gem.

There was experimental syth. tourmaline - small, expensive.

And "synthetic tourmaline" is NOT synthetic spinel colored like tourmaline. This would be misleading and unprofessional.

Same with synthetic alexandrite!
