Hi all,

I didnt realised theres something called Tanzanite until yesterday when i went to tiffany tried to figure out my ring size for the wedding band.
to figured out the size of my finger i finally tried on a half round band with tanzanite and diamonds, it was different but beautiful. I do not intend to purchase this from Tiffany (as i feel its very overpriced) but i am certainly having this design in my mind. Now, after doing a few searches on this board, it seems like the general consensus is no tanzanite in a ring due to chipping issue.
Will that be different if its in a eternity band since the stones are smaller?
or shall i scrape the idea altogether? (yes, the band will be worn everyday)

thanks!

I wouldn''t get tanzanite for an eternity ring - it isn''t durable enough for wear like that.

I think you should scrap the idea. I don't think tanzanite would hold up for everyday wear, especially in an eternity band. I'm actually surprised T&C offers them in a half-eternity band.

Sapphires, yes. Tanzies, no.

I wouoldn''t do it. Tanzanites are pretty fagile and it''s likely they will chip.

I would either use a more durable stone like sapphire or a cheap replaceable stone that''s not super durable like amethist.

I am in the process of getting a tanzanite set and I have been all over the PS site and spoken with experts. Tanzanite for a ring that will be worn everyday--- NO!!!!

If you like a blue color- definitely go with a sapphire instead.
