Tax time Joy!

FI and I thought we''d do our taxes this morning, since between the end of March and the middle of April is going to be a little hectic for us, what with all the getting married we''re going to be doing.

Between the two of us, we are getting SWACKS o'' cash back. I wasn''t expecting it at all! Hooray!

Sadly for FI, he will have to use his to cover all the horrible dental work he has to have done. But not me!

Hmmmm... mortgage or bling? mortgage or bling? mortgage or bling? We''ve been making double payments for 6 months now, so I feel like we''re doing good mortgage wise. Guess that means... time for some bling!

I will use it to get that spessartite for mom, and now I can set it for her ASAP after all.

congrats indi!! we used to get back swacks o'cash after we bought our house, for a blessed 4 years....but now that we are both making too much moola, we owe this year, so sad. but i guess it's a good thing. as long as it doesn't keep going up (the owe'ing). as my parents love to say 'time to have a kid'...hehehe. i'd get some BLING baby. mortgage ain't going nowhere!

IG, only you know what you can afford but it *would* be fun to use it for something sparkly!

My nephew had this onesie...he was born on Christmas 2006, so it was fitting, lol.
Good for you with the refund, woohoo! DH and I used to get a nice chuck of change back from the IRS before we got into the business partnership with my sister and BIL...now are refunds are just not the same.

I went ahead and ordered the spess for my mom today. Hooray! I''m so happy that I''ll be able to afford to set it right away, once my mom tells me what she''d like.

And I might get a little something for me, too. Maybe I''ll set those little pinky zircons I bought.

We''re getting a lot back (woo for filing jointly!), but we need it, so it will be put in savings/pay off we owe from DH''s appendectomy last month. ICK. - however, even after 8 mos, DH knows what''s the REAL priority. I asked if a certain amount would be put in "extra special savings" for the pair of studs that I''d like for our first anniversary, and he said "well, yeah, of course!"

How are you going to set the spess? Ring or pendant?

Yes-I love tax time! And double mortgage payments for 6 months means you get to get some bling with your money! Bummer about your fiance, though...dental work is sooo much $$$!

I got back the most I''ve ever gotten this year and I''m feeling mighty flush. I''m fighting the urge to splurge on a lil'' diamond I''ve got my eye on, though! (Since I got an e-ring and earrings last year and I''m now in school full time and broke for the most part, I don''t think anyone would be very impressed with me getting a new diamond! Except for me, of course!

Do you have any pics of the spess? And totally dumb question here, but they come in multiple colors, right? Or are they just orange? (Colored stone rookie here!) You''re a thoughtful daughter! I would love to get my mom a blingy something or other one of these days when I''m back to working full time.

Oh that''s right it said "tax deduction" not "tax refund." I knew it was tax related!

The main reason I am looking forward to tax day this year is because it's our first anniversary!! That and we got a hefty refund for being able to file jointly this year. It's nice to be able to have something to look forward to on April 15th!

ETA: IG...it's great of you to spend the bounty on your Mom!
