I am very new to the gemstone community and fell in love with a Montana Sapphire ring. I noticed that jewel designers on Instagram charge thousands of dollars for a ring but seemed to never state the information (clarity, cut, saturation, etc) about the gemstones used besides the measurements. I have been searching for a round teal sapphire w minimal inclusions. I came across this website and wanted to know if the gem reflected the price tag? Thank you

Description: Gorgeous teal green Montana sapphire round. A deep teal-green in N daylight, it shifts very little under fluorescent light. Under incandescent light it darkens and exhibits more blue. Beautifully cut with a high crown, it is eye clean. (Cut by Andrew Gulij). Closest Pantone coated color card: No match.

It’s very pretty. Gemfix and Andrew are well regarded by the Pricescope community and I think it’s a fair price for a lovely Montana sapphire.
As it is with jewellery, it’s very expensive to have a custom setting made but at 6mm you would have plenty of choices for a stock setting. I love Ivy & Rose (as do others) for the Art Nouveau/ Vintage vibe and for excellent value. They will also set your gem for a modest fee.

Thank you so much for your response and I will definitely check out Ivy and Rose. I had purchased a ring from an independent jewelry maker and another person saw it and said I paid too much for the type of gemstones they used. I still love the ring but wanted to make sure I was paying a fair price.

The price is quite good for the material and cut. Also please keep in mind that precision cut stones (depending on who the cutter is) can be a bit higher in price.

If I recall correctly gemfix has a very good return policy, but double check that it works for you if the stone is not as you expect. (always a good idea to check return policies of ANY seller)

Yes, I definitely want to pay the cutter a fair price for their work. I have been looking at it everyday and I absolutely love it so I just purchased it. Thank you for your input :)
