So my b/f and I designed this ring based on some stones that I have purchased. The stones are currently sitting in a dresser drawer because I''ve been quoted ridiculous amounts to have it made at a local B&M. It''s quite simple in design, so I can''t imagine it would clost me the $500.00 or so I''ve been quoted to have it made in white gold. Can anyone suggest a good online vendor that might be able to do it for less?

Is $500 that much? I'm just wondering because a mold has to be made and this is a custom job, so you have to factor these aspects along with the price of the gold. I had a necklace made like the tiffany diamonds by the yard in platinum and it cost a bit more than expected. Seems like this is a fair amount. . . but hopefully I'm wrong for your sake.

Good luck!

yeah, i'm not an expert on custom settings or anything, but based on what i do know, i sort of concur with this. especially being that the center stone appears to be bezel set--i could be wrong but i think that requires a little more workmanship than regular old prongs (as it has to be made to mach the exact dimensions of your stone).

but hey, who knows, shop around!

I just had my e-ring made with many side stones on it and it's a little over $1000. I think $500 for a custom made ring setting is reasonable. Unfortunately, I can't tell you which online vendor/jeweler to use b/c I'm local in SoCal and I went thru a local jeweler.

I am having my setting made as well and it is costing over $800.00.

I think you might be able to find it for a bit less, but if you find a reputable jeweler who can create a quality setting, it might be worth the extra money.

good luck!

Oooooh, that's very pretty! I love sapphires and diamonds together. I too don't think that $500 is exorbitant. A stock setting in white gold from say Ingwer is something like $200-ish, and since this would have to be custom made, $500 doesn't sound unreasonable.
