I''m glad you''re doing OK! What remodeling are you doing? I''m in the paying-off-the-CCs boat too, but I''m sure the issue is a bit more pressing with a baby on the way!!

I''m doing pretty well. In the midst of finals, the hardest one is out of the way, so one more weekend of studying and I should be good. FF and his family are not so hot. His dad and brother both lost their jobs, his SIL was in a horrible car accident (she''s OK) and totalled her car, and his SILs step-mom died out of the blue a couple of weeks ago. His poor family!!

Just trying to stay positive! LIWitis has been bad lately.. and I''m usually so good! It must be the holidays. A diamond ring would look sooo nice with a holiday manicure.

Right now its more interior design. I don''t like the layout of our living room and I think what we reallly need is a new living room set which would suck since our set is only 1.5 years old. Also, our bathroom needs some serious work. I think our toilet is about to fly away because it makes all kinds of noises at night (our condo is pretty old). And then there''s the master bedroom. My mom had given us a bedroom set as a gift when we moved in together. The only thing is that my mom''s master is about 3 times the size of ours so when she purchased the set, she had her room in mind. So we can barely get around all the furniture. I am going to have to switch sides with FI soon since my side has little space to walk out of and I''m pretty sure I''ll be a walking whale in a few months so I need more room LOL

Weekend studying! I remember those days

Sending lots of positive wishes to your ff''s family! Everyone''s going through so much these days. Incredible.

haha holiday manicure. Love it!

Hey LP-Whatever happened to your parents and their psycho neighbors??

Aww, thanks for asking Fiery!
35.gif

At this point they''re just ignoring them and doing everything possible to not have contact. They just redid their deck in the backyard and it looks beautiful, (see picture below) so they''re focusing on that rather than worrying about the crazy people next door. One side note that is awfully funny is that if they ever see each other when the neighbors are walking their dog, the dog likes my dad way better than he likes them, so he always tries to run to him. At least dogs have good taste in people.

Good for them! I got so annoyed with your posts about them. I was seriously going to ask you to send me their address so I can write them a nasty letter LMAO.

ETA: That came out wrong. I mean that I got annoyed with them not you LOL

LOL--you and me both! My mom had to talk me out of it because she said it would just make things worse. They were awful, though.

ETA - DreamGirl, I think you''d be an awesome psychologist! Maybe that''s your second calling!
You really think so? I haven''t said this before but I actually have the ability to get another degree at no cost. It would be completely free (a perk from my job.) But, I just don''t feel much interested in going back to school again....lol Also, S is so crazy about being done with school before getting married. Remember my whole: "He might go back for his MBA and if he does, there won''t be a engagment while he is doing that." situation. Maybe someday along the line I might, I''d just rather live my life. ha!

Thank you sweets!

And Dreamgirl! Want to trade?! I''ll go do Graphic Arts stuff and you can do Psych!
THAT could be fun!!! I wouldn''t mind that at all for a while. I love being a graphic artist though. Psychology is awesome. I''ve taken several classes in it before. I find it so interesting. That sure is a lot of work!

Except that SATs are now out of 2400 or something. Weird...

You just seem very smart and compassionate, so I absolutely think that would be a good choice for you!

Becoming a psychologist would be a ton of work, since you''d need a doctorate. Maybe if you just like counseling, you could get an MSW?

That''s awesome that you could get another degree! If my work paid for my school, I''d become a doctor of something... anything! But I''m a school nerd.

You could always wait until post-wedding.

Really?? LOL. I''m out the loop!

When did that happen? I took my ACTs nearly 10 years ago (OMG, I''m old!

) so it''s been a while since I''ve thought about college entrance exams.

Thank you elle! You are so sweet. Maybe I can work towards it one day but it would be like starting over because I have a design degree which is completely different than a psychology degree. Perhaps I could "retire" one day as a designer and turn to being a psychologist when I'm like 50. haha! I highlighted the most important part that you mention....
31.gif
27.gif
hehe! Waiting until post-wedding would be an EXCELLENT idea. This way I get my ring and a husband sooner!
11.gif

ETA- I've always wondered if there was such a thing as an animal psychologist. That would be AWESOME!!! It's not like they would talk to me haha! But more of a behavior study. I know they do stuff like that...

Ummm... a few years ago? Younger sibs. Ha, FSIL told me her score (it was over 1600) and I was like WHAT?!?! How''d you manage that?!?!

There are animal behavioral therapists for sure! I wonder if you''d have to go to Vet school? That''s a rough field. I don''t think I could handle it.

Although, without training, I find my animals to the best psychologists. They always know just what to do to make me smile.

haha! Funny you mention vet school. Growing up I really wanted to be a vet. I changed my mind as I got older because it would just be too hard on me to have to put some to sleep, surgeries....etc....I'm a softy when it comes to animals.

Dang! Now if I tell my future kids my SAT score, they'll think I'm dumb.

"Well back in my day, that was a darn good score! And I had to walk to school uphill in the snow BOTH WAYS. Now you don't even HAVE snow because of global warming!"

Man, that will be a depressing conversation.

So some sad news over here--I just called the cat rescue organization because we STILL hadn''t heard from them, and they told me they adopted out the cat we wanted to someone else. Jerks. We''ve been trying to get them to call us back for the last 2 weeks but they were always too busy to even return our emails and now when I finally reach someone in their office they gave our cat away.

I wonder if they even would have ever told us. It makes me not want to work with rescue organizations if they''re going to be so rude and disorganized.

Awww... LP that is such a bummer. Sorry you didn''t get the kitty you wanted.

Not all rescues are like that, and I''m sure they''re very much overwhelmed right now with such an increase in homeless animals and decrease in donations.

That is really rude that they couldn''t even bother to get back to you. I guess I like to give people who are trying to do a good thing the benefit of the doubt.

I hope you find another rescue that works well with you, so you can give a homeless kitty a forever family!!

I know!! Well now I''ll just inflate my score. Hey, inflation happens.

Speaking of snow, Seattle is supposed to get 5" dumped tonight!!!

This never happens. I''m watching the whitecaps in the Sound at work. Woo!

That sucks about your kitteh. That''s just rude.

Sorry about that LP!

I graduated in '06 from groves... I know you are older than me but I figured a lot of the people have younger/older siblings... Ahhh forgot to quote, but anyways...

Love the small talk thread. Anyone around? The moving truck is coming tomorrow morning and I''m procrastinating packing. I officially have too many clothes for my own good.

Oh, that''s really sucky. Sorry this happened, hon. Aren''t you still waiting to hear back about another cat as well?

I just saw this thread!

LP, I''m sorry to hear about the kitty. That''s really tough.

Yeah, we're still waiting to hear about the Japanese Bobtail I posted earlier in this thread. So hopefully we'll still get a kitty soon.

Thanks for the commiseration everyone! I'm feeling better about it today. I guess that kitty just wasn't meant to be.

I just wanted to rant real quick!!

It is -11 degrees outside today!!!! NEGATIVE 11!!
The building that I work in turns down the heat over the weekends...so it''s probably 55-57 degrees in my office right now!!!!
I HATE being cold...and I''m far beyond cold...I''m FREEZING!!!

RANT OVER!!

So I just found out that the heating in the building isn''t working....and it is in fact 59 degrees...I was close!

On the coldest day since like 1901 (I think that''s what the news said this a.m.) the heating isn''t working!!! WTF!!
