I finally received pictures of my custom design Vatche Caroline ring from Whiteflash! I changed the pave basket to solid platinum because I liked the simplicity of it. The diamond is a 2.261 carat E color and the ring is a size 7.5 Whiteflash is making the custom wedding band, so pictures of that to follow when that is finished! Thanks to all of you who posted pictures of your Caroline rings - I have really enjoyed looking at them!

Hi all,

I've received my wedding band a few days ago and couldn't resist to take a few pics (with my phone, sorry it's a little blurry). I'll take better ones when I can officially wear it in May!

It's a full eternity, 2mm wide and it's definitely the right width (IMO at least!) to complement my ering. I'm already in love with it! It's sparkles so much! I know some of you will say I would have saved some bucks by buying online but my fiance wanted nothing but a Cartier band for him and that was easier to get both wedding bands from the same places.

My new ring is here!!! I'm soooo excited!!! I had a great experience with Luann at IDJ and she has the patience of Job.... she answered every question/email/phone call I had. She patiently priced about 20 different options for me. She never seemed to get short or lose interest - she is a DREAM to deal with! Luann sent me the email yesterday at 5pm that it was ready and it arrived here (Ontario) by noon! No issues with customs delays - just a smooth as silk transaction

It is 14K WG with 8 x .12 point F, SI stones and its in a size 8. Figured with the way my hands fluctuate and if I add a spacer, I wanted some movement on my finger. I feel totally all blinged out now! Very happy with my new ring!

I recently bought this as an everyday alternative to my 0.52 white gold solitaire from James Allen. That one is a D and that, together with the size - I think it can be a little much for daywear. So this one is more suited to me as I'm quite casual. It's only a 0.12 but it does show up.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get good close-up neck shots, for some reason. But I did get close-ups of it on the neck layered with my Russian egg pendant. See my SMTB thread "Russian Egg pendant from St. Petersburg."

So I ordered my new channel set band 3 days ago & its HERE! I ordered it from MillsJewelers through ebay who has an actual jewelry store not just the one online. They're amazing, LOVE them! Anyways - Some of you may know my 7 stone marquise ring is K-L in color. So I was scared the channel set band in I color wouldn't look to good with it but it DOES! I love it & I love them together! Now on to the pictures!
Also I know they're not the best photo's, sorry! I will get decent pictures some day! haha

My great grandma didn't own much. She wasn't much of a jewelry wearer. Just a plain gold wedding band. Then my great grandpa thought it would be nice if she had a birthstone ring. He bought it for her and in the jewelry box it went - until I was old enough to play with it. She would wrap it up with tape so it would fit my finger and then I would think I was a princess.

Flash forward 30+ years and I have a ring with tons of memories that isn't - well - my tastes. So I decided to start the process of resetting it. I finally found the perfect setting at SN Queens Jewelry (http://www.snqueens.com/) in downtown Los Angeles. They have amazing vintage pieces that they replicate (think Single Stone without Single Stone prices). It took 4 weeks, but here she is. First I'll show you what she was originally set like.

Oh, stats, it's 7.8 mm, the setting is 18k white gold brushed so that it appears to have patina. I wear a size 5.75

I've been wanting a simple solitaire diamond pendant for awhile now, and I finally have it!
The diamond is a .72ct G AGS0, Lazare Kaplan round that was formerly set in my Van Craeyest ering setting (which now houses my .9ct diamond, F diamond).

I kept debating who I might want to set it, but eventually just went with fast and simple and had it done by the same local jeweler who reset my ering. It took 4 days to order the bezel piece, and 40 minutes to set it, and no needing to worry about shipping a diamond to and fro! I picked out a thin wheat chain since the standard little link ones can get kinked when stored. All in all, the price of the whole thing still came in at less than I could find anywhere online, and I got to support a local family business, yay!

I wanted something simple, clean, low maintenance, that wouldn't flip. And I thought this sliding bezel design fit the bill.

Here is my new e-ring and wedding band.

It just came in from Fed-Ex yesterday, so I had to post some pics. I have been reading PS posts for months and you've all been sooo helpful in the buying process, thank you!!!

The diamond is a (shallow) 1.9ct I, SI2 GIA Cert, set in a basic 14k white gold tiffany setting. Although the cut was 'good' and the depth and table %'s were not ideal, I thought it was sparkley and gorgeous when I saw it! Of course it is hard to get any photos to do it justice.

This is just a temporary setting for it as I hope to get it into a pave halo setting soon; like this set by Javda in CA: http://www.javda.com/jewelrydetail.asp?tid=5749

First, I have to comment on Bruce Boone’s service. I’d read posts on here dating back to 2004 (when internet retailing was somewhat different than it is today) praising Bruce’s attention to his customers and unbelievable speed. Early on, he sent me 3 sample rings to take a look at, for nothing more than the cost of shipping (less than 10 bucks if I remember correctly). Over the course of getting this order completed, he responded to me by email a total of 13 times. 12 of those were in less than an hour, and the average was 16 minutes. The time of day when I sent my emails and he sent his responses varied from 7 AM to midnight, and all my questions were answered each time. I do have to admit, there was one time when he made me wait over 6 hours, presumably due to bypass surgery, or a wedding anniversary, or some such emergency. I shipped my stone out to Bruce, via first class mail last Friday afternoon. With us on opposite coasts, I figured it would reach him mid week, he’d spend a couple days building it, and with any luck I might have the ring in hand by the end of next week. You can imagine my surprise when I got an email from him Wednesday saying my ring was done and had been sent out…it arrived here about an hour shy of a week after I mailed the stone.

Bottom line – I do a lot of online shopping, and have for awhile now. My first big ticket online purchase was probably 1996ish, and since then, I have never experienced service this fast, personal, and attentive from any online merchant of any sort. Incredibly well done.

Next up, the goods. The stone is .55 ct, F, IF, very good pol/sym, 63% table, 66.5% depth, 5.81x3.99x2.65. The setting is Bruce Boone's Tension Squared titanium ring, 6 mm wide with a 2 mm palladium inlay, polished finish.

I sold my .4 BGD bezel pendant with the intention of diving into ebay to get a larger stone for a new pendant. The plan was to use the proceeds from the sold pendant to finance the new project 100% so I needed to get a great deal on a new stone.

Well...

Um...

Yeah...

I did, but it's not going in a pendant...

the pendant project still has to happen b/c I miss having it and it is the only necklace that works with some of my work clothes (and my amazingly patient DH is on board with that project even though it's not the greatest time for us to do that right now)...

b/c...

I used the proceeds of my pendant sale, plus most of my "fun" money to get a little something for my right hand (DH and I are both very attached to my wedding set, so my RH is the only real estate available...)

Stay tuned for many, many more photos!

And if I can find my loupe tomorrow, there will be many many more:-)

I still have to get it verified by a jeweler but according to the seller it is a G VS approx. .8ct set in original platinum setting.

It is GORGEOUS! A perfect checker board pattern, super white, but shoots rainbows, bright from edge to edge without a single dark zone. I never in a million years thought that I would get a diamond this gorgeous!

The setting gives it a TON of finger presence and it turns out that it looks extra blingtastic with my antique 1.25 ct five stone (another ebay steal from a few years ago--I won the auction in the last second by $0.01, very exciting!) and it looks perfect with my "real" wedding band (my actual wedding band wasn't made in time for our wedding, so I bought a $50 antique band off of ebay a few days before our wedding and had it express shipped.

A huge thanks to Dreamer_D for her OEC/ebay wisdom!!!!!

I bought these Andrew Sarosi earrings at Intergem. They are 18k white gold rhodium plated for the blackened effect, at least I think it is rhodium plating. Set with .76 ctw in diamonds and about .26 in yellow and blue sapphire and green tsavorite garnets. I was looking for a dangley pair of art deco earrings but just feel in love with these. They have a beautiful movement to them and are quite three dimensional and just generally amazing to wear. While I photographed them in the day they are amazing at night. Andrew Sarosi's jewelry is quite lovely in person, very unique, and uses high quality gems (from what I can tell) and can be found at Intergem shows and online at Africagems.com, they also have a store in LA - giving me yet another reason to go there.

I was lucky enough to be meeting fellow-pricescoper the lovely Ms. Cellentani who looked at these with her loupe and helped to enable me! In general Intergem is alot of fun and I very much enjoyed seems gems in person that I've only seen online. Perhaps when I'm feeling braver or next time I might have to get a stone to set, although for those of you that don't know it Intergem also has amazing estate jewelry in a wide range of prices - most of which I thought were very good. You could easily drop tens of thousands if you were so inclined! Or have fun with the cheap beads they sell! It is quite a gem and jewelry show!

Good morning!

A few weeks ago, I contacted IDJ about getting a 7 stone band for a RHR. I worked with Luann, who was absolutely fabulous and extremely patient in my endless questions. I finally decided on the low profile setting with 7 stones. In the meantime, I was thinking of a birthday gift for my mom. I decided that she would love one also but in yellow gold. So I ended up getting two 7 stone rings, one in white gold and the other in yellow! The arrived after only about a week and they are gorgeous! They are so sparkly, I can't believe it. I should also add that I'm a jewelry photographer newbie so the pics aren't the greatest but I just had to share!

Here are the stats on both rings:

7 X .15 diamonds = 1.05 tcw
FG, SI, Ideal cut diamonds

And I love her. <3

I posted in the Show Me the Bling forum, but thought I'd post her here, too. I'd been waiting to join the ranks of the Pricescoper's (been lurking for over 4 years..) until I had an old stone to share (well, any stone for that matter ), and on Christmas, I finally got it. So here she is:

"A transitional cut diamond of about .20 carats (H-I color; VS1-SI1 clarity) with a white gold collet surrounded by twelve (12) shaped sapphires. Wings of white gold accent each shoulder with a triangle shaped sapphire." from The Three Graces.

I also bought this ruby and diamond ring from Charles Alexander, on the Isle of Man. As with my Manx diamond hoops, posted about earlier, this ring reminds me of a very special time in my life when I was closely involved with the Isle of Man through my company's work for five years. I spent a lot of time there and made many friends. I am so glad I bought a nice Manx ring to remind me of the place - especially since I ended up moving so far away. Sometimes I look at the island on the webcam that they have set up on the coast - how sad is that!

I bought this in 2005....just because I felt like it! It's from the jewellery quarter in my home town in England, and the jeweller possesses some old Art Deco jewellery moulds. He makes new jewellery from the Art Deco moulds, so although the pieces are new they have a heritage look. I also have a beautiful gold and diamond Art Deco bracelet from him, covered in an earlier thread of mine.

This ring is too big and the citrine is loose. I need to get it altered and repaired. It's got amazing sparkles though - shame the camera can't catch that!

I bought this diamond from James Allen because I thought it was an excellent price, 18 months ago. It's a Hearts and Arrows AGS triple 0, scores 0.8 on the HCA, weighs 0.52, and is a D colour. It's also an SI2, but whatever inclusions there are, they are white and I have never been able to find them even with my x30 loupe. It's super, super sparkly, which you'd expect from a cut like that. The diamond cost $1,050, which I thought was amazing for over half a carat, D, and triple 000 cut.

I used an existing white gold chain that I'd had for years, and EB Horn in Boston made the bezel.
