I have been working with Mike from Robinson Designer Goldsmith (http://www.rdg.co.nz) for over a year now to create this ring. When I say 'working with', I really mean 'hassling him about tiny details and generally being annoying', and to his credit, he has been nothing but patient with me the entire time. He has such a passion for what he does, and real artistic ability, and I feel incredibly lucky to have him create this ring for me. I don't think that I'm ever going to get used to looking down and seeing it on my finger. It's certainly one way to ward off DSS!

Yay! I'm finally back from vacation where I was proposed to in a garden in a chateau in Wine Country... so happy!

This is my first diamond I have ever owned and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I had my heart set on an I color VS1 or VS2 until one night I was surfing through Jon's GOG videos and watched a video of the near colorless range of diamonds and saw that J's look very beautiful and there is a huge price jump between I and J color. I found a beautiful J colored ACA and decided to jump on it! I've been driving my new FIANCE crazy looking at it in every light and shoving it into his face. It is so BRIGHT and WHITE and in some lights the crazy colorful lights getting thrown off it are unreal. I can't really see the color much IRL but sometimes in photos I've taken I definitely see color from the side.

I love the setting and the size of the diamond. I know many people have the swan and I looked at a ton of photos before officially choosing it as my setting but I have to say that no photos truly do it justice! Vatche is truly amazing and the WF ACA is magnificent!

Diamond details:
Item Code AGS-104052320002

Setting:
Vatche Swan, Platinum, Size 5
I received the plastic ring sizers from eweddingbands because I didnt like the adjustible sizers and was fairly certain that size 5 would be perfect but I'm finding the ring to be quite loose at times. I don't necessarily want to send it back for sizing yet as it is the middle of winter but I wonder if in the winter I'm closer to a 4.75.

After a number of frustrating attempts

See https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/aaaaaaahhhhhh-i-cannot-upload-my-new-vc-pictures.172691/

I have finally been able to upload a number of my pictures. I took hundreds, narrowed it down to around 50 , but will upload them as and when I can. Whilst they may look similar and not up to the standard of my inspiration, I thought they might hep someone.

Here is Frankiextah's original

Hope you enjoy the pictures. once I have exhausted that avenue, I will give a short run down on the process. It was straightforward and wonderful. Victor, is simply a darling!!!!

I shipped off my Grace e-ring and w-band to BGD to see about getting a custom eternity band made. The problem (for lack of a better word) with the Grace set is that it is super low so MOST eternity bands did not work with my rings. They were either too high or the wrong width and almost always sat against the e-ring prongs.

My first inspiration was a Ritani single prong eternity band. But then after getting feedback on PS, I was convinced that shared rpong was the way to go. My list of wants for this eternity band were pretty long: I wanted it to have the same profile as the Grace bands (ie same rounded-ness), the same height, the same width, wanted a shared prong band and from the bird's eye view did not want to see a lot of metal (in the way of a border around the stones).

Welllllll.....I just picked up my rings yesterday and I LOVE the eternity band. I think BGD really gave me what I asked for which is a good thing because I think what they made is the only option that would have suited what I had in mind. Also, the eternity band they made for me is (in my opinion) the best match for my Grace set. I'm so pleased with it!!!!

Hi PS'ers!

I'm so excited to finally share my gorgeous new eternity band from ERD (Engagement Rings Direct)! This has been my dream ring for going on 10 years now and I'm so happy that I was finally able to make my dream come true This ring is also in celebration of my 30th birthday

First I have to say that working with Mark Turnowski was incredible. I asked several PS vendors for quotes and after comparing them I was leaning in one direction (not ERD, because the cost was too high) but I chatted with Mark and he ended up revising his pricing to where the difference was so minimal that I thought it was a no-brainer but to go with him/ERD. And he was just such a doll to work with and after seeing many of his beautiful rings and stones on PS I knew he would source the most amazing stones for this ring.

The CAD only took a week and then the production of the ring was another 2 weeks. Such a great lead time, I was so happy that I didn't have to wait months

Once I received the ring I was blown away! I knew it was going to be amazing but I wasn't prepared for just how gorgeous it was going to be! It turned out though, that the ring was too big and my heart sunk. I called Mark right away to tell him how beautiful it was but that it was too big. He suggested I take it to my local jeweler to have it sized, as well as my finger. It did end up reading 6.75 (what I requested) and that's what I typically wear but the jeweler thought I should make it closer to a 6.5. I'm still not sure why my other rings fit at a 6.75 but this one is big (I don't know if this is the reason but since it's a u-prong technically there is more space between the scallops, and I wonder if that could be part of the size issue ). So Mark sent me a pre-paid label and I overnighted it back to him. I also sent him a bunch of photos showing the extra room when on my finger. He decided to put in 2 small sizing balls and send it back. I got it back the following Tuesday (I shipped it out the previous Thursday). He knew I hated to part with it but I got it back so quickly. And I have to say the sizing balls help a lot!

Now, I do have big knuckles so I knew this ring would spin and it still does. However Mark told me to wear it for a few days and see what I think. So I've been wearing it the last 3 days and I'll wear it all weekend and then decide what I want to do next. We might have to have it remade but I might wait a bit to see if I get used to it. I do like my rings a bit loose and my fingers do tend to swell in heat so even if I decide a few months from now to make another adjustment, I know Mark will be there to help

And get this, after he shipped it to me the first time, I wore it for a day and a half, then sent it back to him for few days, then he sends it back the second time and at the end of the call letting him know it was much better he said "okay, I'll go ahead and charge your card" I was shocked he hadn't done that yet! Now that's one honest and trusting jeweler. I think that right there said it all, and I will definitely be giving Mark much more of my business over the years.

Thanks again Mark for all of your help, I'm so lucky to have such an amazing piece of jewelry!

Okay now on the show

After discovering my solitaire wasnt an omc as I had been told it was, I decided to sell it and get a ring that spoke to me as it is, vs planning to reset my solitaire to make it something that would speak to me.

Here she is!! .35 round brilliant center, with baguettes channeling it on either side. I have a diamond on each side of the basket, and diamonds on the front and back sides of the shank.

She's beautiful!!!

Hi,

I'm posting pics of the Facets band I purchased to give anyone considering it an idea of what it looks like IRL. I'm impressed with the quality of the ring and the great customer service from Facets. It is a lovely, thin ribbon of diamonds that really sparkle. I was torn between it and Whiteflash Honey but liked the fact that there is very little metal on the channel and it is low profile.

The weather hasn't been great so not ideal for photographing diamonds. Anyway, here's some shots of it paired with my 3 stone oval.

Thanks to Fortekitty and her amazing ebay skills, I now have a perfect (for me) OEC Barbara pendant. I am in the minority here: I have a really big crush on yellow gold. The stone a little over .5 ct. I don't know the specs but after having macro photo'd it I don't see a single inclusion so it's gotta be pretty high up and it's a very bright color. I have it on a 15" beaded 14k YG chain so it hits right at my clavicle that I bought on ebay.

First I'll show you the picture of it in its original setting. The first picture is the one that was used on the ebay auction. It wasn't listed as OEC but Fortekitty is like the OEC whisperer so she knew it was worth a shot. The second picture is one that I took with my macro lens just to show how amazingly perfect the faceting is.

Hi all. I have become addicted to this forum, it's so fun to see what new is added every day!

For fun I thought I'd share a vintage Cartier ring I bought several years ago. I believe it's genuine but I guess have no way of knowing for sure. The hallmark is slightly worn and in the all caps Cartier logo you see in some of their vintage pieces. The inflated appraisal it came with says the center oval is 1.35 cts, G color but I think it's more like an I because the center can look yellow next to the whiter halo diamonds. The bowtie if pretty noticeable. The surrounding diamonds are about 0.08 cts each, 0.95 total. The ring sparkles beautifully in the right lighting.

My EC e-ring is being re-set right now so I've been wearing this one more. These photos aren't the best (I think I need more light), but this is practice for when I get my new ring back. The hand shot shows it as a RHR, size 6 on a 5.5 finger. Platinum with a knife edge shank. Thanks for looking!

My mad crush on yellow gold continues. I'm thinking it might be getting pretty serious. I'm thinking of popping the question. I wasn't supposed to be spending any more money, but I fell in love. And you know we can't stop ourselves from doing silly things when we're in love.

I bought this beauty on ebay. Here's the link to the auction. I didn't pay the price listed. I've learned not to do that anymore http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=190645735477&nma=true&rt=nc&si=sIs0SDCB%252BPQPgerP0HrYzRoU51E%253D&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_4939wt_1165

The emeralds are an amazing blue green and they glow even in low light.

I just wanted to show you the first picture I have of my future wedding ring. I’m from Sweden, and here we usually have a very simple engagement ring and spend the most money on the wedding ring. I cheated a little bit and had a 0.45 ct solitaire with side stones as my engagement ring (profile pic) but felt that I wanted to put more money and effort into the wedding ring since that is regarded as the more important ring here. I decided to make a three stone ring with the 0.45 as one of the side stones because then I could start from scratch but could still keep the sentimental things from my engagement ring.

So a three stone ring with 0.45 side stones it is and it made it quite difficult to choose a center stone because I wanted something that would be quite much larger compared to the side stones and the original wedding budget included just a plain band. Since I love halos, I decided that was an easy way to enhance the size of the center. I had a hard time choosing between a cushion, pear or oval but in the end GOG helped me pick a pear.

Then I needed a setting. I looked on tons of three stone rings but three stone rings with a pear is not that common and especially not with halos. I wanted a ring with a vintagey feeling and I fell in love when I first saw James Meyers style. Since I had my own diamonds and some were already in Sweden there was no option but to make the ring here. I brought some inspiration pictures of a James Meyer three stone ring to my jeweller and pictures of some halos I loved and hoped they could make something with even the slightest resemblance. That type of workmanship is no longer common in Sweden since 99% buys plain bands or diamond bands. I was quoted 2700 (gold not included) for the work and all the melees. 600 of this was the cost for creating the setting and the rest for setting the stones.

Today I was asked to come and have a look at the finished setting to approve it before the stones were set. I have so far one picture of the naked setting that doesn’t show all the details but it looks exactly as the pictures I brought and sketches I made. It was a talented young girl in her mid twenties that had created the setting. She had hand forged it and it took an entire week meaning that the initial quote of 600 for the work increased to 3700 and a total cost of 5800. They still promised to honour their first quote though. Lucky me that they don’t do this kind of rings often enough to be able to more accurately determine the time.

The stones are floating over the band very similar to James Meyer’s style but the halo has some more reinforcements. It is connected to the band with gold shaped to an M, since that is the first letter in my fiancées name. All the large stones will be bezel set which I think is important to tie the style together.

Everything will be finished in two weeks and I’m really excited, however my wedding day is in May so it is still quite a while before I can wear it. In the end I would like to have two rings for the “married look” but I have no idea what will fit because the halo will hide most part of an additional band.

Since we didn't have much besides a lot of student loan debt when we got married 10 years ago, DH promised to get me a ring when for our 10th anniversary. When the time came, I looked through tons of websites and jewellery stores to get ideas (unfortunately before I discovered pricescope) and decided that I wanted to get something made because a lot of stores I went to said that they would have to order my ring due to the sizing anyways. Even though there were a lot of solitaires with some pretty settings that I liked, I knew I wanted to have something unique, but still classic. I eventually decided on a twisted band setting with milgrain detail.

The centre stone is 0.70 ct G VS2 VG cut, Ex polish, Ex symmetry and the white side diamonds are E/F VS ideal melee, the pink diamonds are also natural untreated colour, ideal cut and polish. My ring size is 4.5 and the ring is 19kt white gold.

Clearly the diamond I bought in January was my gateway diamond, leading to a life of hardcore diamond addiction. I'm now thinking I need some OEC studs (even though I prefer dangly, non-sparkly earrings). I'm now thinking I need a milgrained bezel-set OEC solitaire necklace (even though I never wear necklaces). I didn't need any diamonds until I "met" you people!

I wasn't thinking I needed another diamond ring, until I spent some time with my dealer (aka eBay) last night. Y'all have created a monster. A monster, I tell you!

This should be posted to me tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have it by the weekend:

1.1 cttw (.15 .20 .40 .20 .15 OECs) sold as H SI1, platinum head and shoulders, 18k YG band. I'll have the band replaced with WG if I keep the ring.

We were suppose to get engaged last night, but something came up beyond my control and I had to postpone it. I'm proposing tomorrow! But I wanted to share the final product with everyone.

THANK YOU MARK @ ERD.

Also, excuse my hairy fingers in the shots.

*NOTE:* In some of the pictures the diamond looks yellow, but I assure you it is very white. Some of the shots are taken in a bathroom with a huge sandstone granite counter-top and the diamond is picking up the hues and reflection of light from the granite.

My new bauble is an art deco platinum setting with a 1.52ct I vs1 center stone, ring is sized to a 5. I had the prongs sturdied up, and the milgrain retraced when it was sized. Although my pictures really don't show its beauty, it has somewhat of a snoflakey pattern and a "poofy" crown, as I like to call it. GIA report calls it a RB rather than a European, but I'm ok with that since it means I get all the angles on the report. It's a very fiery little pebble, and I'm sorry my pictures are so pathetic. I will try with something other than my phone camera soon. Whenever I try to take a picture, the black phone is reflected under the table, even though the stone is bright in real life - so frustrating! Bonus picture is of my eternity band, which will be sized down in the near future. I'm wearing it as a thumb ring for now.

I think I am going to have to sign off after this... after finding Pricescope last year.. My behavior has been deplorable .... I say this because I am officially an addict and might need intervention ... to stop.. at least I am ending (or trying to end) my downward fall into Diamond acquistion madness.... with the purchase of a beautiful Whiteflash Pendant.. after torturing several vendors trying to make the "best" diamond decision for myself (my apologies to those I tortured...) I ended up at Whiteflash with Sheerah. She was fabulous (and so were the other patient souls who worked with me at unnamed PS vendors) and most importantly once I made my decision... they were fast.. I placed my order on Friday and I was wearing my new pendant on Wednesday.... I can't say enough good things about all the vendors here.. unfortunately from hanging out on this website.. I think I have become an over-thinker.. but I also believe this time it paid off for me... I love my new pendant.. neck shots later.. but for now.. Thank you Whiteflash for being so easy to work with and most of all patient!!!

Also.. thanks to Dreamer and DS for suggestions on color and size...and always Phoenix..for trying to direct me in the best direction despite myself...

After months of anticipation, Victor Canera has created my dream engagement ring! After researching cushions and custom settings for hours on end, and thanks to everyone who has previously posted about their experiences, we narrowed it down to Victor based on his level of craftsmanship and how perfect and attentive to the most miniscule details he was. I had so many concerns and questions and most likely drove Victor crazy, but he was so nice and reassuring, and the end product speaks for itself.

I wanted a micropave halo, but didn't like the standard design that was out there with the donut at the bottom, and the stems curving inward. I wanted all the stems to puff outward, more like a little pillow to compliment the cushion center stone, and I wanted them all to come to a single point on the band, eliminating the donut.

I also wanted my band to be eternity pave and Victor was really great about helping us figure out the sizing, as my e-ring won't allow for future changes. We bought another band that fit perfectly and mailed it to him, and the actual e-ring is the perfect size.

I also, like so many others on here, wanted the least amount of metal to show in the pave work, while still maintaining the ring's strength and durability. This was another HUGE reason we chose Victor--he uses the platinum mixture we wanted, (90/10 Iridium) and his rings are COMPLETELY hand-forged, which made us confident that the ring would have integrity while still keeping a delicate look.

Lastly, instead of having our rings engraved, we had our birthstones put inside the band as surprise stones. They are in my e-ring, as well as my eternity pave wedding band & will be in my fiance's wedding band as well--all made by Victor. I will post when I get it!

Here she is! First impressions are that she's a very sweet little ring. I was really nervous before opening the package and was prepared to be disappointed, but I'm very pleasantly surprised.

Sold as 1930s 1.10 cctw OECs H SI1 (.15 .20 .40 .20 .15) 18k yellow gold with platinum head and shoulders

I paid £900 ($1400) and would LOVE to know opinions on whether I paid too much. It was originally listed at £1395 ($2200). I really like the ring, but am not so emotionally attached to it that I'd be okay with paying too much for it!

The seller did include a box!

Hello
I havent posted here in a looong time, Ive been behaving myself nicely actually Well except for just this one thing... lol
I had grown tired of my 5 stone engagement ring and decided on a re-set. We just recently bought a new house so already that put me on a tighter budget. I contacted LOGR for a price on a custom design. I photoshopped a few photos of the design I had in mind, sent it to them and agreed on a price. They sent me photos from sketch to wax and it was cool to see it come to life. They didnt send me a photo after the setting was finished which i was a bit peeved about, I had to wait to see it in person. The whole process took about 2 weeks from sketch to opening the package. I have to say, I am VERY impressed. I've won a few auctions of theirs over the years and at times they arent always perfect but nice enough for the price IYKWIM. But this, WOW! As part of the deal I stated that all diamonds were to be bright, clear and not discoloured and if even one was "off" Id be returning it. I was kind of expecting something to remind me it was a LOGR ring but to be honest, the ring is heavy, all the diamonds are bright, the ring is well made and nothing is "off" so Im completely happy I took the plunge.
While I was expecting my diamonds to look a little bigger with a bezel and a halo, I wasnt quite prepared for how HUGE they look now in comparison! I have big fingers (size 9.25) and even as a 3 stone I get plenty of finger coverage which Im not yet used to... But that cant be a bad thing right? Might keep the diamond shrinkage at bay for a little longer...
I only have 3 photos at the moment (all of them taken with the main diamonds unset) so I'll get around to posting the compulsory hand shots soon hopefully They have been edited on my iphone so the colours are a little off, they are the only ones I have at hand though and Im busting to share.
The main diamond is 1.03ct - sides are half carat each

I've wanted a five stone ring in a U-prong setting since the very first time I saw one on PS. I even created a "5 Stone Ring Wish Folder" on DH's computer, for all the good it did me! I started saving for one about two years ago and saved up enough money over a year ago. I just let it sit for a bit while I brought DH around to the idea. He kept saying it was a "20 year" gift. Given that we're just now hitting 5, that wasn't working for me. Last fall, while we were out of the country, I found an amazing deal on a 5 stone ring with OECs on DB. It was too good to pass up. I bought the ring, but somehow, someway, proceeded to immediately chip two stones. One had a BAD abrasion on the top (I really think it happened at the jeweler while it was sized as it wasn't shipped damaged, but have zero proof of that) and then I somehow knocked the SNOT out of the stone next to it and sheared a sizeable chunk off the side. Do not ask me how, I have no idea. I sent it off to Brian Gavin to be evaluated for polish/re-cut, but while re-cut was possible, it made no sense as it would drastically change the size of the stones and the trickle down effects would literally mean a whole new ring.

When I picked up Mom's ring at the jeweler last week, I had them take a quick peek at mine for a second opinion (knowing what it would be) and to see if perhaps, maybe, just maybe, they could source some replacement stones for me. The jeweler gave me the same verdict as BG (no shock), but said he thought he could find some stones. He called me a few days later with a couple of potential stones to look at. I stopped by Thursday afternoon. The stones looked good- more transitional than OEC, but at least 1 of the 5 stones in the ring looked more transitional than OEC as it was. I asked him to put the new stones on the ends and move the three existing stones to the middle. He said he could have it ready by Saturday, so I told him to proceed.

I picked the ring up today and it looks great! One stone is to my eye smaller than it was previously- but it's on the side and I'm okay with it (well, I'm telling myself I am!). They're similar clarity (SI1) and color (G & H) to the existing stones (all G). I basically now have 2 OEC and 3 transitionals, but from the top, you really can't tell too much of a difference and if someone is that close to my ring, I have other problems! I got a great price on the stones, so I'm happy with the outcome. I have the two stones they removed and the damage is pretty ugly. BUT.... I think if I put them into some milgrainted bezels setting earrings for my second hole, I can still use them. I am going to save my money for the settings so that the stones don't go unloved (cause they sure as heck aren't sellable!).

I took some pics out in the sun today. Not the best, but I never seem to be able to get the show stopper pics everyone else gets.

Before I forget- stats:

Approx 1.5 ctw
SI1
4 G's, 1 H
Size 5

Once I found the right diamond from Eternity diamonds, I wasn't exactly sure what setting to go with. I ended up going with what I thought she would like... a very classic, simple and elegant design with a lower setting, the Stuller Solstice Solitaire 6 prong. After going back to my local jeweler a couple of times to adjust the setting height and slim the prongs, it turned out perfect!

Now that I had the perfect girl and the perfect ring, I needed to work on the engagement setting. I decided on a spot near the river. I wanted to capture her reaction, so I hired our mutual friend who is a photographer -- we found a great spot where he could hide out while I popped the question. The pictures speak for themselves... she was shocked and it was perfect.

More hand and profile shots to come once I get them back, but much credit to Kingston Ko Photography. He really captured something that we will always remember!

I have my 10 year upgrade!! First off, I want to offer a big thank you to all that post here in order to educate others on such important and emotional purchases. When I found Pricescope, I only knew I wanted a cushion, and didn't really know where to go from there. I got a great education and I am thrilled with the final product.

First up is the stone. I worked with Matt at GOG and he was extemely helpful and patient with me chaning my mind numerous times. I couldn't be happier with the service that I received and loved the lifetime policies attached to my stone. http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/8187/

From the inital contact with Victor, I was really ipressed by how easy it was to communicate with him by email. I flip flopped between 2 designs and he was so patient and easy to work with. My husband and I are completely blown away by the quality of the setting, and the style suits me perfectly.

Stats:
Antique style cushion
G VS2
8.10 x 8.08

The ring is a size 5.25, but I may have it sized down as it is a bit loose but I'm concerned with swelling in the summer heat. I do not intend to wear a band. I am attaching photos, but I apologize in advance for the quality. I have a new respect for the great photographers around here!
