Morning!

5.gif

Elle, we got some of your hot and humid weather (not complaining because it''s been cold and rainy for all of June!) over here on the East Coast. Last night we got a MAJOR thunderstorm, it was cool
36.gif
Today, muggy/overcast. And...not to rub in in, but I get tomorrow and Friday off this week! And, I think I get to leave early today
9.gif
Yay for working for the Jesuits!
Ha!

We have cold and rainy now.
20.gif

I have Friday off.. but not tomorrow.
39.gif

But it should be 80/sunny for Saturday on the lake all day.
10.gif

Chiming in late, but I wanted to say that I''d keep the dress as a possibility, but have another nice outfit for photos. I''d wear red heels with that dress, and jeans and a cute top. But that may just be because I ADORE red heels. You''re tall, so I think a bigger pattern would look amazing on you. You can carry off bolder prints than somebody who is only 5'' 2", so go with it. Big, bold, exciting, and sexy! Just like you. I''d stay away from anything toooooooo trendy (e.g. leggings).

On my plate today: organizing my department''s 4th of July party. I''m seriously the LEAST patriotic person ever (would happily renounce my citizenship for citizenship from Oz, anywhere in the EU, Canada....to name a few), but I *love* a good theme party. So I have a red shirt, white vest, blue jeans and blue and white shoes on and made a red, white, and blue dessert. LOL. If only my friends could see me now....

It''s still a possibilty, but I may do another round of shopping to see if I can do better.

Oh, and yeah, I don''t do leggings. I wore them in the 80s, I don''t get to redo them in 2009. My rule!

That''s hilarious P... I''m the same way. I constantly threaten to move to Canada. I feel like I just don''t fit in here... politically. Can you please take pictures of your outfit? PLEASE??

I don''t live in FL now, but I did for a few years when I was a kid, so I know what you''re talking about. But let me tell you, NY in the summer is no picnic either--it''s like FL (hot & humid) except no one has a pool and the beach is too far!!! Well, a really nice beach I mean. The Hudson River and Long Island Sound don''t count in my book!
11.gif

Morning!

Hot + humid = St. Louis summers, too. No joke, it''s at least 15 degrees warmer on any given day than it was in Chicago last summer. We''re having a "cool" week right now with about 80 degree weather, and last week was in the upper 90s and sweltering. Hooray for having a pool, right?

It is POURING here in Tampa, we''ve got tornado warnings in all surrounding counties. After work, I think a blanket, a good book, and a window seat sound perfect. Unfortunately it''s only 9am, got a ways to go...
7.gif
Yuck.
14.gif

I think we''ve got rain all day, but no tornado warnings or watches, or even thunderstorm warning/watches. Just drizzle. If it''s gonna rain it should at least be a cool storm, right?

Today is going to be a looooong dayyyyy.
39.gif
Yes, yes it is.

I''m in Tampa now, and I can''t wait to finish school and move north a bit to get away from being surrounded by humid weather and water.

Me and you both, my dear. The last time I honestly answered a political question a girl got all huffy with me and said, "WELL! We can NEVER talk about POLITICS!" Ummm, I wasn''t trying to...somebody asked me if I was a Democrat. And you''ve got a head start on me for becoming a Canuck...you''re at least used to the weather!

Yeah... people don''t "get" me. Especially at work. Discussing politics at work is a no-no. They all think I''m nuts. "SOCIALISM??? YOU WANT A DICTATOR??!"

Yes. That''s what I said.
20.gif

Not to get political though...
3.gif
I am cool with other people having different opinions, as long as you criticize mine knowing exactly what I mean!

Canada was sweet as a teenager, since you can drink at 19. We were about 15 minutes from the border, and would spend many-a-weekend boozing it up in old CA!

Hi girls! I haven''t joined in the small talk thread in the past because it seems to move SO fast and I can''t always keep up, but I''m kind of lonely and it looks like fun, so just wanted to say hi to everyone!

What''s your paper on?

I''m hungry. Can I come to lunch?
9.gif

It''s an Advanced Experimental Psychology course and a paper on behavior modification. I wrote half of it already but I need to finish it. Wednesday is my only day off from school, but who wants to write a paper and sit all alone on their birthday? It''s due (along with a presentation on it) next Tuesday, so I still have some time but definitely wanted it done before the weekend. Maybe I''ll have time tomorrow after my class.

And I''m soo hungry - can''t wait for lunch!

Have a great lunch!!

Oh... and I wouldn''t work on it on my birthday, either!

Thanks so much, elle! It''s my 21st birthday so it''s a big one. DH can''t tease me anymore about not being able to get my own alcohol! I hardly ever drink anyway (I just don''t really enjoy the taste of alcohol) but I love wine and champagne so whenever we go to a nice restaurant or a wedding I always want a glass of wine but he would always tease me that I was too young. Not anymore!!
3.gif

I''m going to lunch with my mom and then when DH comes home from work he''s taking me out to dinner. I think I''ll get some wine tonight

aren''t midwestern summers wonderful? i know you''re a couple hours away but was it freakishly cool and pleasant for you yesterday? i know i can take more heat than most, but i was completely fine in a jacket yesterday due to the wind. i''m convinced we''re getting storms soon, and the big fluffy low-ceiling sky seems to agree, although it''s still bright out somehow.

yawn- mornin all, man that headache knocked me out last night

eta: Oh, and Happy Birthday!

35.gif

My professor said she usually has her classes develop experiments and do two projects over the course of the semester, but because this is a shortened 5 week summer class, we only have time for one. We''re doing a self-modification project, so we had to pick a behavior that we engage in that we want to change and we had to try to increase it or decrease it (depending on what it was) using behavioral contracts, antecedent control procedures, etc. and then record the information over the course of the month and write a paper on it at the end. Some people chose increasing exercise, some chose to decrease smoking, along with a lot of other things. I had a hard time choosing a behavior, but in the end I chose cleaning - I hate when my apartment is messy but I also HATE cleaning it. So I''ve been using various methods to try and increase that behavior - and it''s working for the most part! But the paper is annoying to write and I HATE giving presentations so I''m dreading that part.

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes! I''m off to lunch now... be back later!
