Ooh. Cranberry-orange relish sounds great!

And really easy:

Rinse fresh cranberries. Stick them in a pot. add enough orange juice to come about halfway up the berries. Add some sugar (start with a little and add more as needed to taste). Stick it on medium heat (barely simmer, don''t boil). Stir occasionally.

Remove them from the heat when all (or at least almost all) of the cranberries have split open. This lets them get the nice orange flavor and the cranberries thicken naturally.

Oh, and also it is supposed to rain. Great.
Dude, you''re missing an exclamation point. It''s supposed to rain. Great! You can get some of those adorable under the umbrella shots. Just get a bright umbrella and you''re golden (rubber ducky yellow umbrellas make CUTE pictures).

I''d definitely say heels - do you have leather boots? With K''s height, you need something. I''d do at least two outfits - a dressy-casual jeans outfit (maybe a black or white wrap top, jeans, and boots? Or maybe just fun coloured heels) and a dressy outfit (dress for you, nice pants and a button down for K). I don''t think you''d ever regret having the fancier shots taken, but having something a little more casual is nice, too.
plus being in the NW, it would be super cute to have the "rain" picture!

how many months out do you do engagement shots?

I hate thanksgiving. I''m the pickiest eater in the universe. God bless my Sister for making her stuffing w/o onions! The worst is when my Mom mixes all her fricking food together! BLEH! And pumpkin pie? What? I do however have the best cranberry salsa recipe if anyone wants it...

LP - Do you have nice jeans and a blazer? Very figure flattering and timeless. Rock some pretty heels and some simple jewelry and you would be spendid. You could even do a cute scarf since it''s totally going to be fall type pics. Do you do hats? I LOVE HATS and I''ve seen some uber cute hat fun e-pics.

See, at real Thanksgiving (with the fam) my gma and all of the aunts take over, and I''m lucky if I get to mash potatoes. Because I have this overpowering urge to cook it myself, I host what we call ''Fakesgiving'' every year, and invite friends over the week before for a feast. Doing some menu planning now, because it''s easier to spread the grocery shopping out over a couple of weeks.

I like your blanched & sauteed green beans with red bell pepper. Much nicer than the plain-jane steamed green beans I was planning on. Salad is good, too...don''t know how I forgot that!

What a great idea.

Thinking about Thanksgiving just gave me a huge craving for Harvard Beets. Stupid stupid Thanksgiving...

me too. which i am glad pumpkins are around FOREVER!!!

I don''t actually like Thanksgiving foods. I mean, I like turkey, mashed potatoes, and green beans. And I like apple pie. But really...that''s it. I hate stuffing, hate cranberry sauce, hate sweet potatoes......I hate basically everything specific to Thanksgiving.

well granted it used to be canned beets. i think its a texture AND taste thing for me. and i am picky about runny foods not touching other foods (beet juice).

I don''t think i have ever liked them..

I don''t like beets, either. I just can''t get past the texture. It''s like there''s a weird texture/flavour mismatch for me and I can''t handle it. But borscht is yummy. Mmmmmm...borscht.

Harvard Beets are a freshly prepared glazed beet, and there is a WORLD of difference between fresh beets and canned beets.

I like both, but I eat anything.

Also, some refined sugar comes from beets. Just an FYI.

Sunny! Don''t leave us yet!

Freke - As picky as I am I would eat anything you made because I''m sure it would be fabulous!
