DH says not until he''s 30 (2 years away) but then he''ll say something about soon.

He''s always been obsessed with babies - on one of our first dates he was smiling, waving and giggling at a baby. It was too cute.

People at work are currently driving me nuts. SO........I design a card for someone (last week) because they claimed they needed it "ASAP" well the contact said she would get back to me Tuesday morning of LAST WEEK. Never heard back. So 2 days ago I email her and ask her what the status was. Nothing. Until now.

"Dear Dreamgirl, sorry I never got back to you (because I'm stupid) we decided to design it ourselves (even though we are not graphic designers and don't have the authority to do so) this invite is for a very signifigant event sorry I didn't communicate that to you (because I didn't tell you anything we wanted other than an invite) and we wanted something more formal. Agiain, sorry have pitty on me because I didn't let you know until now (but if I had just told you what we wanted, you could have made the changes for us and now our invite probably looks like complete crap because we did it ourselves)"

I'm going on a walk. I need air.

Elle, I have a theory...I think you just have baby fever so you can get the maternity leave from your job!

I hate this place so much that sometimes I''m like "Hey if I get pregnant, I can get like 5-6 months off." LOL

But on a more serious note, mid 2011 sounds good to me too...we can have like a pregnancy pact or something!

No 2011 babies here. I believe IF we decide to adopt, we both have to be 30 to even start the process. So June 7th 2012 is the earliest we can get that show on the road. But have fun with that!

In the meantime I need to figure out tubal ligations...

Oh I''m capable alright. To make a long story short, FI has a nasty familial medical history that involves heart disease, diabetes, cancer and heart defects. Not to mention his own genetic heart defect that he had temporarily fixed in July 2006, that he will have to get fixed again and again every ten to fifteen years for the rest of his life that he would rather not pass down to anyone. And I was adopted in a closed adoption which means that I don''t know my medical history.

There are other reasons too of course, but those are the most widely known/talked about/understood ones. The other ones have to do with the fact that out of our 3 siblings they have created 9 children, and we think that they have procreated enough for us too. But also there are plenty of children out there that need good homes, and we could certainly provide one. And if anyone knows that, it''s me, because I don''t know what would have happened to me if it weren''t for my parents.

Tubal ligations are a serious thing. They involve cutting and all sorts of stuff. At least 3 days rest after. Risk of complications....

But a vasectomy is a different story. They can use lasers now. Doesn''t even involve cutting. A little discomfort. Maybe a couple of hours to get past that discomfort and then back to work same day if they want.

Good luck with that though. Men are the biggest babies.

All surgery involves some risk. Including the plastic surgery I had 6 years ago.

I''d prefer him to get it, obviously. but my real desire is for both of us to get sterilized.

I''m planning on looking into Essure, but I don''t know enough about it yet. Plus I have other things going on.

Freke, I can''t tell you how awesome I think you are. You guys are making informed decisions about what works best for you, and I love you for that. Seriously. I know you - you''re a researcher who knows the benefits and drawbacks, and you go with what makes sense for you. I love that.


And trust me, ladies, there is no baby train going on over here. I love babies (and hopefully soon will get to babysit my favourite toddler

), but I like giving them back, too. Though I will say my favourite toddler (FT for short) is hilarious. She''s so funny to play with, and is a total ham. She''s one tough cookie, too. And friggin ADORABLE.

Freke - Good for you, I think adoption is a beautiful thing. Honestly if I thought I could afford it I would adopt!

TooPatient - Having a tubal while having a c-section doesn''t add any extra recovery time and it takes about 10 extra minutes so if I have one that is the route I''ll be going. I will have a c-section due to medical reasons from my first pregnancy/birth. Otherwise BF can get the snip snip!
