Freke - Good for you, I think adoption is a beautiful thing. Honestly if I thought I could afford it I would adopt!

TooPatient - Having a tubal while having a c-section doesn''t add any extra recovery time and it takes about 10 extra minutes so if I have one that is the route I''ll be going. I will have a c-section due to medical reasons from my first pregnancy/birth. Otherwise BF can get the snip snip!

Makes perfect sense if they are in there anyway. Two birds with one stone and all that
1.gif

Otherwise, my opinion (in my situation anyway) is that it makes more sense to have the vasectomy. No cutting. Little pain. Almost no recovery time.
But try to tell that to a man. (wimpy guys, it is just a little laser now

And you are 100% correct. Vasectomy is WAY less invasive! My Dad has had a vasectomy, a reversal and a vasectomy and said it''s no big deal. Boys are babies!

No 2011 babies here. I believe IF we decide to adopt, we both have to be 30 to even start the process. So June 7th 2012 is the earliest we can get that show on the road. But have fun with that!
11.gif

In the meantime I need to figure out tubal ligations...
Freke - hey I''ve been researching them because I will have to have a scheduled c-sec w/ next baby so I thought I''d just nip it. Let me know what you think. I''m trying to convince J that a vasectomy would be a better plan...Can you not have children Freke? Or are you just chosing to adopt? If that''s too personal just tell me to stuff it.
Oh I''m capable alright. To make a long story short, FI has a nasty familial medical history that involves heart disease, diabetes, cancer and heart defects. Not to mention his own genetic heart defect that he had temporarily fixed in July 2006, that he will have to get fixed again and again every ten to fifteen years for the rest of his life that he would rather not pass down to anyone. And I was adopted in a closed adoption which means that I don''t know my medical history.

There are other reasons too of course, but those are the most widely known/talked about/understood ones. The other ones have to do with the fact that out of our 3 siblings they have created 9 children, and we think that they have procreated enough for us too. But also there are plenty of children out there that need good homes, and we could certainly provide one. And if anyone knows that, it''s me, because I don''t know what would have happened to me if it weren''t for my parents.
Freke -- I missed this post.

You guys are wonderful. Very responsible decision you are making. Some child (or children) will be very lucky to have such great and informed parents.

Afternoon ladies.

Whoa! I''m gone half a day and I come back to all this baby talk!?!?!?

Elle, I have a theory...I think you just have baby fever so you can get the maternity leave from your job!
9.gif
I hate this place so much that sometimes I''m like ''Hey if I get pregnant, I can get like 5-6 months off.'' LOL
6.gif

But on a more serious note, mid 2011 sounds good to me too...we can have like a pregnancy pact or something!
3.gif
I think you just might be my twin...

hehe

(kidding elley)

Hehe...I won''t tell...or we can just be triplets
3.gif
LOL. HDG, you''re probably right!

On the night DH was going to propose, I dragged him into Moosejaw (an outdoor apparel store) and spent like 30 minutes trying on sweatpants. He was about throw up he was so nervous - playing with the ring in his pocket when I was in the dressing room. I finally ended up buying a pair, and then 20 minutes later we were engaged.

We refer to them as my engagement sweatpants! They're the most comfy things I own!

I want some engagement sweatpants NOW!

Sunny - Want to go wedding dress shopping with me in January? I may be jumping the gun since I don''t have the effing ring yet but I''m pretty sure it should be in 2009. I am in love with Mikaella dresses and they are having a trunk show at some place in Tacoma.

I have engagement shoes, but I know this surprises NO ONE.

LOL.

Do you have graduation shoes???
31.gif

I''ve been tempted for the past month to ask my dad for some CLs for graduation, but FI doesn''t like that idea since they are so expensive and not practical. He wanted me to ask for a new laptop since my old one is about to die.

But THEN he decided to finance two new laptops. (Before-Black-Friday sales are pretty awesome btw.)

So I''m still hoping for the CLs.

I''m hoping too... so I can live vicariously through you!

Lol Elle. I''ll think about it. There are so many more practical things I could get.

In other news, I just slid my pants over my hips without undoing the waistband. Which is GREAT, except that I just ordered some pants in this size. Maybe they can be altered?

What kind of pants are they? I would imagine they could be altered!

IMO... a gift should never be practical! I always try to ask for things I wouldn''t ordinarily end up buying myself. That makes the gift awesome!

Random question: What is an individual hair in your eyebrow called?

These and...

...these. I got them since they were on sale, and I didn''t figure I''d keep them long since I''ve been losing weight.

I just call them eyebrow hairs.

Ohh those are cute! Depending on the cost of the pants, it may just be better to buy a new pair than pay to get them altered.

How much do alterations cost? I have never had anything altered other than my wedding dress.

They were $40 each I think. Marked down from $60, maybe? Alterations are usually around $10 depending on what needs to be done. I could send them back and get a size down, but I bet alterations would be cheaper AND more time efficient. PLUS I need to go check out this alterations shop for my dress, and I have 3 other dresses that need to be altered. If I could do it all in one go...

I agree. A graduation gift especially should NOT be practical. CLs all the way! (Still haven''t gotten mine!)

Get em altered Freke, I love having stuff tailored! I love them both but I really love the second pair, where are they from?

Ann Taylor Loft. I have a 30% off coupon with free shipping on an order over $100 if you want it. Let me know! They just came out with all of their holiday stuff, so I might have gone a little overboard...

Ya me too except I''m going to be really cheap on this wedding dress (I almost typed wine dress) because I feel weird since I''ve been married once. Where is Luly Yang?

Downtown, sadly close to my office so I am forced to walk by there everyday and drool over stuff. Forced!!

LOL at wine dress. Do we need to schedule an intervention?
