Mmmmm... tube dough.

Not too much longer for that engagement. Ready for this last single lady holiday season??

Hehe...I''ll let you know when I''m in town. Depending on whether we come early or late in the season, some Dominick''s Sangria and Constant Buzz may be in order...as well as a trip to La Dolce Vita (since A hasn''t been yet) and possibly some good ol'' Pizza House (since I haven''t had that since ladyciel''s rehearsal dinner last September, lol)...

So ready for this last single lady holiday season!!! I''m trying to get A in the Christmas spirit. He grew up in a subsect of the Christian church that doesn''t celebrate Xmas. (The celebrate the holidays Christ would have celebrated; ie: the Jewish ones...but not Hannukah, for some reason...) His fam left that church a long time ago, but he never really picked up on Xmas. Soooooo...I''m working on that one with him, slowly but surely.

That''s interesting... I didnt know that there was such a subsect! Although I was raised Jewish, and J catholic, I seem to get WAY more excited for Christmas than he does. Maybe because its new to me? I don''t know, but I love it! It''s nice actually getting presents for Christmas instead of just Chinese food and a movie!

Do you know what you''re getting A for Xmas yet??

A is obsessed with Alton Brown and Good Eats on the Food Network (it''s that whole Chemical Engineer thing...it''s all experiments!!!) so I got him 2 of his books (one about how to stock your kitchen, and one with all the recipes from the first 80 episodes of Good Eats), as well as a 12'' cast iron skillet, a set of 2 6.5'' cast iron skillets, a couple DVDs, new slippers, a naughty coupon book and something leopard print (for me to wear FOR him)

, and then I think I''m going to book a hotel room for Xmas night and pack a romantic little picnic, just to get out of the house and do something special. Oh, and he''s getting lots of chocolate in his stocking.

Man am I glad I asked you! I needed idea, and J LOVES Alton Brown!! Maybe I''ll look into some cooking stuff!

You really are going all out for Xmas, eh? I wish I could spend a lot, but we really need to save. I hate being responsible sometimes.

BTW: I made cookies last night - chocolate chip. They came out sooo good. I even added some PB to half the cookie dough and those were yummy. FI doesn''t like PB cookies so more for me!!! (oh, and I made them out of cookie pre-mix - Barefoot Contessa style. Yum Yum Yum in my tum tum tum!!!)

You really are going all out for Xmas, eh? I wish I could spend a lot, but we really need to save. I hate being responsible sometimes.

I highly recommend AB''s stuff. I got A his baking cookbook for his bday and he had his nose in it the entire flight home from KC!

I actually got all those gifts under $200, aside from the hotel I haven''t booked yet. I was very lucky to get a bonus at work this year, and had earmarked a decent chunk of it for Xmas presents. Plus, because we get paid bi-weekly, my budget is set for 2 paychecks per month, however, this time of year, based on how the pay periods fall, I end up getting an extra paycheck. So I always split that between savings and fun money. Plus I''m hoping spoiling A but not getting ridiculous about it will help him fall in love with Xmas!!!

HDG, you''re TOTALLY invited to LDV!

And Bia, I want some PB/Chocolate Chip cooooookies!!!

Dude that''s nothing. When we do our annual (me and like 10 friends in my Dad''s motorhome) tasting trip we usually do about 7-10 wineries in a day. Our record is 12.

Thanks B! I don''t know why but it felt weird...like I just needed to hold back! Maybe because I know that J really liked the guy and that he was hurt, so I needed to be strong! I don''t know!
