Puppies are so much work. I''d rather have another baby.

Back from lunch and all caught up.
The problem is, now I want a baby, a Golden Retriever or Labrador puppy, and a whole mess of eBay sparklies.
Thanks, y''all.

I want a puppy desperately!
DH said I can have one as soon as I''m ready to take care of it all by myself (in other words, he doesn''t want to have to pick up its poop), and if it''s a non-shedding breed.
I have shih tzu mix (I posted a pic of her in Hangout) and she doesn''t shed at all. Plus we have a wizdog that lets her go inside when we aren''t home to take her out - no fuss and very clean. She''s only 9 lbs so its very easy to keep up with her.
You and Elle would make great doggie mamas!

I think he likes dogs enough, but he doesn''t have the burning desire for a puppy that I have. Once he saw how wonderful puppies are, I think he''d fall in love. I had a dog as a kid, and his family never had pets, so I think that''s a big part of why he doesn''t really ''get it.''
His brother is afraid of/hates dogs, so I think that''s why they never had one. Now his parents have a dog, and they are so in love! (But the BSC SIL kicks dogs when they come near her, so I feel kind of sorry for the dog when they visit...)

I don''t even notice shedding anymore because of the cats.
If an outfit does not have cat hair on it, it is not complete.

FI wasn't a dog person either. I mean he liked dogs well enough but he never had a burning desire. That is until I brought Sophie home. He fell instantly in love with her and now that's his heart. I think she's his main girl, truthfully.Date: 12/16/2009 1:36:37 PM

I know, she''s evil! My MIL tries to make her feel bad about it every time we''re all together by talking to me about how much I love dogs and would never, ever kick them.Date: 12/16/2009 1:46:03 PM

What happens when one of the dogs gets sick of being kicked and bites back? Or she kicks one and it get surprised and bites out of instinct?Date: 12/16/2009 1:50:10 PM

I don''t think she kicks really hard, she just kicks them because that''s how she thinks she''ll get them to move away from her. I don''t really trust people who hate animals, though...

Yeah, good question. When dogs snip at her after she kicks them, she uses that as a justification for having kicked them. ''See? He''s vicious! Keep him away from me.''
It''s basically the same thing she does to me -- she says something witchy, and then when I respond witchily, she point out how witchy I am!
Anywayyyy, DH brought home some Chocolatey Coated Chocolate Chip Dunkers (the cookies from TJs) the other day, and I have eaten my way ALMOST through the entire tub.

I wholeheartedly agree with this elley. A dog might give you that extra something that''s missing right now. Puppies are very much like babies in their helplessness - cats are always on point!Date: 12/16/2009 12:49:08 PM

it was the marriage part. that changed everything.
I''m still in the ''oh crap'' phase
I wish I was still there.
I''m not ready for a baby yet, but very much want one.
Must. Get. Puppy.
I would so love for you to get a dog. They are so wonderful and loving and adorable and furry and cuddly and funny and I love their doggy breath! I know how much you love your cats, so what''s adding one more to the family?
One of the greatest experiences of my life was having Sophie as a puppy. She has enriched my life beyond measure.

I think you missed my early post sunny. I had the BEST cheeseburger last night (after I said I was ''off meat'' for a while hehehe). It was soooooo good. It actually made me think of you all since we are always talking about stuffing our faces.
I *heart* TJs! By far the most dangerous thing I get from there is the peanut butter filled chocolate covered pretzels...Date: 12/16/2009 2:23:46 PM
