Hahaha Lactard. We use that term for our celiacs. We''re Glutards.

Hehe. That one makes it sound like you ate too much paste as children.

LOL!

TP - they do make kosher pareve frozen puff pastry! It''s good with all-beef hot dogs for uber-kosher pigs in blankets.

I wish I had a personal chef just to plan my meals for the week (I''d even cook them myself). Every night DH and I scramble to throw something together, and half the time we end up ordering takeout. Can''t seem to get myself to sit down and plan before we head to the supermarket.
Really? Where? I''d love to find it.
B LOVES the pot pie in puff pastry (so do I -- it is just so fluffy and yummy) but I hate to make it. So much time and lots of rolling -- exhausting.

I even checked the Albertsons on Mercer Island the last time we were there and couldn''t find it.

Ugh, how is it that my company allows Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter, but won''t allow evites?

Hmm, I don't know where in your area, but if there's a kosher butcher or kosher grocer that would be a good place to start.

Odd. I also find it odd that out of everyone who''s on her at work, my computer has access to the most internet sites and I work for the gov''t.

I wouldn''t call them good but we''ve got a couple of possibilities in the area. Albertsons was one. QFC near the UW is another.

We order 90% of our kosher wine online (KosherWine.com) and are about to place our first kosher meat order from a vendor in Oregon.

Maybe the market side of the wine place? Worth a look. If they''ve got it I''d certainly be happy to buy a case if they ship.

TP - I inadvertently deleted the second part of my post. Try kosher.com -- i think they will deliver to you.

Let''s see. Maybe a ratatouille one night.

Lunches? Smoked turkey sandwiches, tortillas (the egg & potato type), sweet potato home fries.

I wonder how long he''s staying...

I''m officially moving into TP''s house, lol. All that food sounds lovely.

Alright ladies...I''m heading home. I was suppose to go to the gym at 5 but I''m having some not-so-fun stomach issues...so I''m just gonna cut my losses tonight.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Thanks for the website. I hadn''t been to this one before. Worth a try. They seem to have a reasonable selection of stuff (and puff pastry!!!).

More sources of kosher options is always good.

It''s from Firehouse Subs, which I haven''t seen north of Raleigh. You''re in the DC area, right? Let me know if you find one near you, because I will force my friends to try it. Seriously, I hate mayo but this was amazing.

They seem to sell out of stuff some days. I may have just been in on one of those days. (quite possible since I was in trying to get a roast for Shabbat dinner -- left with a chicken) I''ve also not been very impressed with the quality of much of what they carry. Or the prices in some cases.

That does seem to be changing though.

i''ll let you know how it turns out. i just tried a bit and it didnt taste like much of anything. possibly needed more salt....

I have a shoe dilemma!! I need black heels (summery, but not strappy, because they kill my feet!) for my HM in 3.5 weeks. I could get a pair of shoes that I already have in black. They''re cute, comfy, love ''em! And they''re on sale!
31.gif
But then I have 2 pairs of the same shoes in different colors. Do I get those, or risk something not as comfy? Ack!

I''d vote for the cute & comfy shoes you know. Your HM isn''t the time to be wearing something uncomfortable.

ditto 100%

so, the cheese came out okay! it could be saltier (i eat a lot of salty cheese, aparently) but is GREAT on crackers. i have a feeling it would be great to use for lasagna!

princesss--We actually DO have Firehouse up here! I know of at least one in the DC Area, which is in the Kingstowne area of Alexandria. I just went to their website and it looks like they have 5 in the DC Metro...all on the VA side of the river.

jcar--SO glad your first cheese venture turned out well! It sounds delish!
18.gif
Here''s hoping e''s beer turns out just as well!

sunny--DEFINITELY go with the same shoes in black! No worries that you have two pairs in different colors--if it''s a great shoe, I''d own it in EVERY color!!!

Up for debate. If you know you''ll wear them a ton, then yes get them. I probably wouldn''t, but that''s because I own ten million pairs of shoes already...

I say just do it.

morning everyone! who else had to go back to work today?

Morning, HH! Your DH is quite lucky. If I wasn''t allergic, I''d love to be at home snuggling a kitteh!

Oh no, we''re allergic, just highly medicated

Well, that''s certainly one way to go.

A and I are more dog people than cat people...though he did have a kitteh growing up that he still loves to visit when we go back to KC. I think we''re gonna try to rescue a dog that''s at least part Lab or Golden when we finally have a house with a yard.

yup we''ve got the dog too.

I''m gonna do a round in Macy''s today, and if I don''t fnid anything, I''m going for it! And I will wear them a lot; I have several weddings to go to this year.
