Yay Elle for the Gym!

never be afraid to start small and work your way up. building a routine and a (healthy) habit is super important, and people forget that you should be building up the (healthy) habit of eating right and working out.

Definately invest in a couple types of classes - that will help starve off boredom! Try the express classes to see if you have a taste for them, and then go for the full classes later on. That how i did with cycleing. next class up - express step. Though i am not cordinated!

my dog just burped in my face. awesome.

okay - off to my day of h-e-double hockey sticks. 8 hours of work and then 5 hours of first aid training. i better be able to save some dang lives after this.
First off, LOL @ your dog.

Yeah I''ll aim for 5 days a week. I can do that. After my current class ends, I''m going to try a yoga class at the Y.

That''s a long @$$ day, Jcar. Good thing you''ll be able to first aid yourself back to alive if you don''t make it through the whole day.
I want to start doing Yoga for real (I always try one class but then stop). I wish we could go together!

VC, why did he get teary eyed? All you said was, ''you didnt do the dishes.''

I''m sorry you were fighting. I hate fights first in the morning. I hold on the bad energy all day but FI lets go the minute he leaves the house
11.gif
I NEVER have to worry about that. J is out cold until like 9 am.

He did do the dishes last night, I was proud!

So I need to find a way to cut my grocery bill. I''m finding it''s steadily creeping up and now I''m around $120/week including dog food or cat litter type stuff, $100 without. Healthy food is just so darn expensive! DH and I bring our lunches from home and only eat dinner out 1 night a week (max if it happens at all). Breakfast is also at home. I need to learn to shop sales and with coupons. Problem is most coupons are for prepared foods and carby stuff and DH and I can''t eat any of that

Ideas???

where do you shop? that makes a difference for me.

I love yoga but there really isn''t any way to just take it easy at the beginning so I always end up overstretching on day one and then being too sore to move for the rest of the week and not going to another class.

OMG HH! You guys do so well already! I have no idea! Except grocery game.... it perfects your grocery shopping. It pulls the ads and coupons for the week and tells you when to buy stuff, when to stock up, etc. I have friends who have saved TONS using that program.

J and I budget for 250 week for food, not including pets.

The Y has a "gentle yoga" class for like... disabled or old people.

I might need to take that one first...

for just the two of you?!

eta: we spend about $120-$150 depending on the week. That's why we stopped going to Whole Foods because we'd drop $300 like nothing...and get nothing!

Lately I''ve been shopping at the Big Y chain because they do a lot of BOGO/BOG2 and double coupon deals. I''ve also tried shaws, stop and shop and walmart and they all seem to be about the same. Walmart might come in $20 less, but it''s a PITA to get there, deal with the freaks and they don''t have as good a selection of fresh food and meat.

I''m calling me disabled and old!

I feel like my grocery bill should be under 100 every week. What I really need to do is make a list and stick to it, but I''m a sucker for a good deal whether I need it or not.

What about Trader''s HH?

We do a lot of our shopping there. It takes a bit getting used to the variety, but after you do, we really don''t need to stop anywhere else (I was hooked on Stop & Shop because that''s where we shopped when I was a kid, but it''s pricey!). Also, Traders has gotten much better produce-wise.

B, Yea I would definitely, but the closest one to me now is 30 minutes away on the other side of providence.

I love how Ann Arbor is such a locally grown/organic/hippy town. I have TWO whole foods within like a mile of one another, several local produce markets, farmers market, Plum Market (Like whole foods) and TJs. Ann Arbor is NOT that big.

I keep seeing WF advertising lower prices. I love WF and would love to shop there but it''s literally whole paycheck for us. We''re not the type who''s going to go in and buy 1 pack of chicken breasts, some milk, some cans of beans, spinach and call it a day.

Liz, I just checked the GG site and while MA participates, there are only 2 grocery stores (shaws and s&S) and the rest are pharmacies.

Haha, HH. Yes, he cried over the dishes. He does it every time. I''ve determined that his fighting style is to try to turn everything I say into an insult, and then make me feel bad.

Long story short, I just took him outside, railed on him verbally for awhile about how what he was doing wasn''t fair, and things are okay.

same!

And then we want to buy the fancy creams and chocolates...not to mention the cheese (that alone is $50 right there)

I''m glad things are better. Be tough, VC!

Yeah. I wish I could have had a tape recorder with me to record what I said. It was pretty good, lol.

I hate fighting, but I have such a sense of accomplishment when the fights resolve into things being better. Is that a bad thing?

Morning!

Holy balls Elle, do you guys use your food as things other than to eat? I spend maybe $100 a week and that''s for the 3 of us! I''m a super good shopper though and once a month I skip a week of groceries and force myself to cook stuff that''s been sitting on the shelf for forever. I could teach you! And way to go on the gum by the way!
