Okay. So I know we were talking about distrust of medical professionals and such yesterday, but my mom is suppose to have a hysterectomy on Friday the 12th after several years of constant and consistent heavy bleeding that was not controllable by hormone therapy.
In December she was suppose to have a Uterine Ablation in hopes that destroying the endometrial lining would stop the bleeding. Prior to the surgery, the surgeon, but simple pelvic examination determined my mother had a ''small ute''. When they went in to do the ablation, my mother''s ute was much larger than the chosen ablation device and the procedure could not be performed. They cleansed and removed all present loose blood and tissue from the ute and charged my mom thousands of dollars.
This week, my mom went in to see the surgeon for her pre-op consult and blood work.
~The surgeon DIDN''T REMEMBER SCHEDULING THE SURGERY.
~After confirming the surgery, she antagonized my mother saying that she should have taken the surgeon''s recommendation all along and done the surgery right away. I assure you that my mother was never given that option because for YEARS all she has wanted is a hysterectomy. The SURGEON recommended my mother first try pills, then the ablation, and THEN AND ONLY THEN should she consider surgery. Apparently the surgeon countered with something to the effect of (not a direct quote) ''If I said that, it''s only because I have to...I''m a surgeon and would obviously prefer the surgery at any time.''
~My mother was never given any suggestion to take iron supplements or anything beyond a daily multivitamin to help replace lost hemaglobin. Because of this, her heme count is too low for surgery at this moment and she will need to spend the entire day post-op in the hospital receiving transfusions to get her heme count up to an acceptable level.
I am not a doctor, but my familiarity with the medical field knows that this is completely unacceptable. There are so many mistakes that have already been made that I can''t help but worry about the surgery next week. But I don''t want my mother to have to start over in her quest to finally have someone take out her uterus. She''s waited too long and been through too much pain over the past couple years to warrant that.
I just want to fly to Chicago and smash that doctor''s head into a wall.
It''s suppose to be 3-6 inches here. Radar says it''s raining here. The window of my friend''s office says otherwise.

BF''s mum has been sending us photos and newspapers clippings of the snow in the UK and it makes me sad I''m not there. It snowed on me a tiny bit last time I was in the UK and it made me very very happy and other people outside the shopping center looked at me like I was a crazy, but I''d never been snowed on before.......
