The LIW Small Talk Thread

hi ladies....

too... I don't know about the weekend. Should be ok. If you have time, read my other post. I'm still a little upset over it.

I read that earlier this morning but didn't have anything to add other than hugs. I wanted to think about it some and remember some of the talks/arguements/discussions we had about stuff before the proposal.
The months before FI proposed were MISERABLE. I found that even when he said stuff like that, he just needed time to relax and then it was all better again. Your bf will need to be introduced to wedding stuff gradually. Even now, I try to only bring up wedding stuff once a day or less so FI doesn't get too overwhelmed (got 13 months to go so plenty of time -- some days we have to talk about it a lot more and FI is pretty good with this now since I don't bring it up in every conversation (tried that, he got overwhelmed)). Give him a chance to relax. If he still seems like something is wrong then talk with him about stuff and reassure him that you aren't thinking anything huge and certainly not expensive -- you want to keep it to a pretty modest budget and it will be spread out over your engagement so it will be easier to manage....
After that, try to keep the wedding stuff in here with us. If you don't mention wedding stuff, you might be shocked to find HIM mentioning different wedding things after a few days/weeks.

Don't hand him a big folder of stuff right after the proposal. Just enjoy for a bit and then start bringing ideas out one at a time: "so I was looking online the other day and saw this place that might be nice for the wedding..."

Those last weeks/months stunk and I'm glad to be past them. You've almost made it through. In a little bit you'll be engaged and then married. :))
 
Too, she sounds almost as bad as my mom, and the SO. Whenever im at moms house, i look at the date on everything, and the same thing with SO. He feels like if its in a can, and its only expeired by about a year its still good. :nono: . Hmmm, maybe ill clean out all his cabinets while he is at work on saturday. I was about to eat lunch and brought a frozen dinner from the Mom's house...i had to toss it too. It was good until Feb of 2007. Friggin A. i dont know why these people dont throw away food.

Im sorry you had so much homework to do. Im so not looking foreward to it come the fall with 5 classes, 1 being a music Composition class, One pyschology, and than a Astronmy class thats part physic....can you please slap some sense into me. At least the neighbors dogs didnt wake you, i hate when that happens and you havent gotten enough sleep. Its like you want to throw a old boot at them, like in the old cartoons.

Bg- I think you should go to tyhe malll and try on swimsuits and get a cute wrap to go with it, and cute heels to wear around the pool :D

Yeah, i know, can you like slap me or something. Its gonna be a hard fall between the 5 classes, Work, and trying to deal as a LIW.. :evil: ...hopefully school will take my mind off of the stresses of ebing a LIW. Ive been told by the end of this year, which happens to fall when school ends, so lets keep fingers crossed. :mrgreen:

Ya know what was crayz, my advisor wanted me to take 6 classes, and the Praxis test i ahve to take to beomce a teacher, adn its 100 bucks to take it :nono: :errrr:

How many credit hours is that???

We have to get special permission for anything above something like 15 credit hours (about 3 classes)
 
I just at 18 credit hours. My music composition class is only 3 credits.
 
Too: thanks for your advice. I will not overwhelm him with wedding stuff now. I'll start talking about when we're engaged or when he's ready.

Jessie: I took music composition before. It was fun! You're so hard working. working AND taking 5 courses. GOOD LUCK! I don't need to buy cute heels. We're going to the beach in Hawaii. :bigsmile:
 
Thankas Bg....will didnt know if you were gonna stop by the pool at the hotel. But go looiking for a swimsuit tommorow or saturday. Im thinking about calling in sick tommorow and just going to the movies by myself for awhile. I so need some time to myself, i just feel overwhelmed, and mostly due to family. Gotta love how im the trouble maker of the family, but when my mom goes to the doc for anything, EVERYONE calls me, and start bugging the hell out of me about it. Nevermind how i feel, or the fact i could be sick. :?

Well, it should be really nice in hawaii....i hope you take lots of pics, i so wanna see.

*wanders in* I've been in a generally 'blah' mood today, so I'm trying to come up with something to do/someone to talk to to kick me out of it. This is generally a good place :) Any of you ladies around?
 
I know the feeling...ive been stuck in that mood this morning since the bad oatmeal.....

Yeah Bad oatmeal.....if feels the same way coming up as it does going down.......it was past the " go bad" date. I didnt know it.....i learned my lesson ;(
 
Yick... that's too bad, I'm sorry to hear about it. I haven't had a bad event, just a random shift in mood. It happened yesterday and I can't seem to kick it for the life of me :/ FF helped though, started talking about engagement to cheer me up, it worked, but most of all I found it hilarious that he chose that topic to cheer me up :tongue:
 
awwwww, at least he tried to cheer you up. I know about getting into funks...my SO does a lot when he thinks about money or something. Its okay, maybe you will kick out of it tommorow. Or over the weekend.
 
I'm hoping over the weekend. There's really no reason for my funk other than the very complicated one... I'm about to graduate and I'm scared out of my wits about taking th NCLEX (nursing exam) and getting hired where I want to work (Psychiatric facility). I found out from him trying to cheer me up that he's already got it narrowed down to two possible ways of proposing, so that was enlightening! :bigsmile:
 
awwwww. Its okay. Dont worry it will work out and than if things dont, you will work something out.

The weather is amazing here today. Warm (hopefully not too hot), sunny, not super humid.... Ahhh....
Best part is that I've got a short day so I might get to enjoy some of it!

Nope, i took today off of work. Im gonna go pick up a book or two from the bookstore for the fall. I firgure it i buy a few books every paycheck, than i wont be as strapped for cash once school starts. O, and i found some on amazon.....which HELPS! I know if i bought all the books from school, im look at 499, plus tax :nono: , with amazon helping, it cuts it down to 255....lol.

Are you taking classes in the fall and if so, which ones.

I'm in pre-calculus2 (trigonometry) this summer. (5 credits)

Fall quarter I've got calculus and introduction to computer science (basically an intro to computer programming)
(10 credits)


Books are $$$$$$$.
I've learned to plan for about $200 per class for books (even if I can get used). So far I've been stuck buying through the school (couldn't find them anywhere else) and unable to even sell any back to them :knockout:

Too: the weather here is very nice too. I guess since we're not that far away from each other, our weather would be almost the same?

Peanut butter?

I don't particularly care for peanut butter cookies either but if you mix in chunks of chocolate.....
 
I hate peanut butter cookies. I just think peanut butter and dessert don't mix. That's just me though. Usually I just make the normal peanut butter cookies. I don't eat them, my bf will just eat them all. However, I found this recipe http://www.joyofbaking.com/PeanutBlossomCookies.html I love this site. The recipes are very easy and yummy! The twist is that each cookie has a Kiss on top. It's like me giving him a kiss everytime he eats one. awwwwwwwwwwwww Isn't that sweet? :lol: Perfect for our anniversary!

Do they make dark chocolate kisses? That would be yummy.
I like the look of the white/milk chocolate kisses they had in the picture.

I think you can use any kind of chocolate kisses. I just got the normal milk chocolate Kisses. Do you like dark chocolate? I LOVE LOVE LOVE dark chocolate!
