Hey Ladies, Sorry i havent been able to check back in, just need a break from the net for a few days. Im doing okay, worried, but okay. I think sometimes thigns like this happens so you can make some changes in your life. Its just making me think ya know.

Too- How was your weekend.

Bg- How was the trip, got any pics?

SC- How was your weekend? Anything Fun?

Cali- Hope the move is going great

Yeah... I know about thinking.
Take the opportunity to go for a job you'll enjoy. You deserve it.

My weekend was mostly sleeping. I didn't realize how tired I was. Didn't really accomplish anything but I did get some sleep. So, pretty good weekend curled up with FI.

I go away for a couple of days and feel like I can't keep up with the posts and engagements, even though it seems like things haven't been moving that fast!

Jessie, I'm so sorry to hear about your work! Try to look at it as a chance for something bigger and better out there.

Too - having everything included with the price is nice, since you don't have to worry so much about having people add a little bit here and a little bit there, for things you didn't even think about. I got quotes from several places but I wonder about how inclusive they were. When I received an itemized invoice example for one venue and saw all the extras I starting thinking about stuff the other places left out. I can't wait until I actually go an visit spots though, I don't think until then I'll be able to settle on things like colors and such.

As for my weekend, it was a rough one. It was my 10yr high school reunion and I drank way too much. I spent all day Sunday being hungover and part of today feeling like crap. I can usually hold my liquor pretty well I guess I can only withstand the power of so many dirty martinis. Lucky for me, the bf is in the kitchen making us some dinner. I love the days when he cooks and I can just sit on the couch. It's pricescope, wedding blogs and america's got talent for me tonight. haha.

What a great bf!
Nothing better than relaxing while someone else cooks dinner.

The little extra costs really do add up fast. There were a couple of places I looked at online that seemed promising until I added on all of the little things. I even saw one caterer that did this (dinner starting at $15/head! -- oops... + salad + breads + drinks (including waters & coffee) + dessert/cake = $$$$$).
I just want a number. One number. I get that if I get fancy with the menu it costs more, but I don't want to be counting the number of forks I have to rent.
(This is a big reason why Cave B is the favorite choice -- no hidden charges)

Too- it sound sos nice to curl up with FI. SO and i got into a bit of an arguement yesturday- we are both animal lovers and we saw a little guy almost get hit. Well we picked him up, and C keep sayin, i know how this is gonna work out, we are just gonna drive around, just to take te little guy back to the nighborhood we found him in. Well he was right, the little guy didnt have a chip, so we took him home to try and post him on the net, but we already have 2 little guys. So i washed him up, because he was super Dirty, and than the fun stopped. He was a puppy and doesnt know about going outside to go potty, so he used our new carpet as the potty. C got so pissed, we took the little guy back to the neighborhood, but it was heart breaking, because he didnt want to leave us, he kept running back up to the car, and sratching on the side, like let me back in. So sad, ruined my whole day. Im trying to NOT think about it, because it will mess up my whole day. We couldnt have kept him though, with our two, and one of the two being sick. That and im allergic to Pet Fur, just holding him i broke out in a rash, and ended up having the rash so bad, it looked like i was covered in bruises. ( Just to clear the confusion up, our Doggies have hair, Poodle, and Lhasa Apso, so im okay with them).

Hows your day going. Im off to school, i want lots of updates when i get back, O and 15 isnt bad, but when you add allt he other thigns, its soooo not worth it.

Oh ;(
Poor puppy ;(

I'm sorry you couldn't take care of him until his family came around.

The place was pretty enough for a wedding but I really wasn't sold on it. The only reason it was considered was that the rental fee was pretty low and it would be closer for guests. Once I read the fine print stuff and looked at the list of "approved caterers" they got tossed out of the running (without so much as an in person visit). I don't like the hidden fee trick.

So excited!!!

The airplane parts are coming! The truck is heading out today and will get our parts picked up the end of next week. A bit after that we'll have them all sitting here ready to be put together!

Yeah, i know about the puppy, but we cant save them all. Blah, so i totally skipped my Ast class, and am sitting in the libary on PS. Gotta love it

O congrats on the parts Too! Is it for a replane or a model. My SO worked in avation for 20 years, he knows the inside of a engine better than anything. When your done your posting pics right? :D

Hi ladies! I'm back from my trip. I had an AMAZING time with my FI. Everyone asked if we're on our honeymoon. I WISH! We just came back this morning. We left Honolulu at like 11pm at night. The plane was sooooooooo full, we didn't get to sit together. He was still besides me, but on the other side. Oh well. We couldn't sleep at all. I just took a LONG nape this morning. Got up an hour ago. It's so cold and rainy here. We wanted to hop onto the next plane to Hawaii. FI got sunburned on his back. His back and shoulder were all red. I had to put aloe lotion on him. :errrr: I love my tan. My back is a little itchy and kinda "pink", maybe a really minor sunburn. Oh well, it was so fun! I'm going to tell you guys more later. Right now, I'm like falling asleep. However, I can't sleep too much or else I can't sleep tonight. I miss my FI already. I got to see him for 7 days 24 hours a day. I MISS HIM!!! :(( ;(

I hope you guys have a very very good week.

Jessie: no engagement yet?

BG- sounds like you had a fun trip. Sorry you didnt get to sleep on the plane or anything. Rest now. Any pics? i wanna see. I missed you BG! Welcome back,

No, No engagement, just laid off. I dont think he will propose this weekend, even though we will be on a trip.

I was sick for the entire trip. I'm still sick. However, that didn't stop me from having fun AT ALL!!!

I miss you guys too. I keep on thinking about if you will be engaged by the time I'm back. Oh well, it will come soon!!! I will post some pictures when I'm a bit more rested. Where are you going this weekend again? How long are you guys going for? I'm leaving for Portland on Saturday. Now, I wish I don't have another trip this weekend. I want to spend more time with my FI.

Grrrr....
I had a long post and lost it.

Anyway.... Real airplane. (lots of pics along the way -- I'll post some later so you ladies can see what we're doing)

I'll post more details later. Gotta go make dinner.

What did your SO do in aviation?

Don't worry, I will post lots of details and pictures when I am more rested!

Too- SO was a parts manager for a few different airlines. He had to know about an engine inside out. Thats cool about the plane, that gets so pricey!

Bg- I am so sorry hon. I hope you get better soon, i know about just wanting to be with your SO

We are going to Tucson, Az this weekend to visit my fathers grave and my brother. We are taking the dogs, so its like a our first" family " trip. LoL...Im getting excited, it will be fun for him to see the house i grew up in with my daddy.

Yay!!!! Pictures!

I'm still waiting for that good news. It actually comes Sept. 15 :knockout: so we were off by two weeks on when to expect the info. Not sure if we'll find out sooner than that or not (I REALLY hope so... this waiting stinks)

Parts manager! Fun!
We've got to learn all about the engine so we can overhaul it. If we can manage it ourselves it'll cost a lot less than shipping it somewhere. (I'm sure we'll be fine -- especially since our EAA chapter has some great Boeing people in it :)) )

The airplane is an IAR-823 -- a Rumanian Airforce trainer. We've got one of the earlier serial numbers (not that there were many ever made...). It got into pretty bad shape when a less than great mechanic took it apart (he's in prison now for all sorts of fraud and stuff) so now we have a pile of spare parts (the stuff shipping from Vermont) to replace a bunch of the parts on the airplane (currently at the airport in Snohomish) so we can get it nicely restored and flying again.
Part of the restoration process is that I'm getting my pilot's license (FI already has his).

I'm hoping to offset some (or even better -- all) of the expense by selling some of the stuff around the house that we don't use and the parts we take off of the airplane (wings are still okay, but we have new ones).

How long are you going to be in Arizona?

LoL.....he liked being a parts manager, i wish he could get back into it, since thats were most of his knowledge is , he would be making a lot more money than he is now.

We are just going for the weekend, we leave saturday morning, and than come home on Monday. It should be fun. I have this feeling its going to sneek up on me, so im gonna wash some clothes today and probabaly go ahead and pack my bag that way i dont have to worry about it with worrying about everything else, like today i have to call my health insurance and firgure out when it stops so i can order my asthma meds to have on hand, also i need to call and change my doc appointment and possibly go see the dentist for a teeth cleaning.

So.....

We might be adopting a puppy today.

I got a call last night from my mom. My aunt's neighbors had a litter of puppies and all but the runt have been adopted. If they didn't find someone to adopt it by today they were going to take it out and dump it. My aunt convinced them to keep it overnight (last night) until she could talk to me. FI and I have been talking about adopting a dog for Sentra to play with. Something that is (or would get to) around 20-50 pounds with a good personality.
I've got no clue what breed of dog this is (mix of ????), how old (still puppy - looks in blurry picture to be 6 - 10 weeks?), anything...

Found out this morning that the puppy is a girl.

I just talked to our vet and to FI -- my mom is going to go look at the neighbor's house to see if it is reasonably clean (to minimize risk of causing our other animals to get sick) and if it is we will bring the puppy home. Our vet has appointments open for tomorrow and Friday so they'd be able to check her out pretty soon after bringing her home (plus shots & deworming, etc. if needed).

If she turns out to not be a good fit and we decide to not adopt her, I'm going to make sure she has a safe place to go (the lady who runs the shelter we adopted Sven at is also involved with dog rescue stuff too so she'd be able to get me into contact with a nice place and help get her adopted to a good home)

ETA: I'm such a softie...I've never met her, but I think I'll be kind of sad if they found another home for her (doubtful but...).
(sad, but happy that the sweet puppy is in a good home)

Awww. That is so sweet Too. I think its a good idea to have two babies, they keep each other company when your not home. Hopefully the house was clean and the puppy is healthy. If you keep her, what do you think you will name her? O, im so excited, i cant wait for a update tommoror!

I'm sitting here with my cell phone waiting for my mom to call. Not sure when she's going or if they still have the puppy or anything.

EEeeeeeeek! So frustrating. I just want to know if we're getting a puppy or not so I can get excited to meet her or try to move on knowing that she's in a good home somewhere.

No clue about a name.... I didn't even know if the puppy was a him or a her until a few hours ago.
FI is the creative namer -- all of his cats have been named after airplanes (Miglet, Antonov).
I've never been good with names -- I managed to come up with Lilly and Huggy (she liked to hug a lot)

I wonder if the puppy has a name?
Potty trained???

Well, she is young so you can change the name, also, She is a runt, so it has to be something strong. Im never good with names either, i like weird names, so C is the one to name.

Hopefully she is potty trained. You have a doggy door right, i think if you do, it will be easier to train her if necassery. I know about waiting. I hate waiting for thigns too

They've still got her. My mom is going to go meet the woman. This woman took her from the original people (with the mother dog) a few days ago to find her a home. So her house is fine but we've got no idea about the original house. So mom's going to look and make sure that she's not all covered with sores or anything (which we don't think she is) then we'll adopt her (I'll meet my mom somewhere to pick her up) or at least bring her home and make sure she gets adopted to a good family.

Poor FI is in meetings until 4 today so he's likely to get greeted by a puppy when he's done...

Still no clue about breed (she's mixed), expected grown size, etc....

No doggie door. Sentra is too large to have a doggie door (anything big enough for her would be big enough for a person (and would let the cats out too) and I don't think we can manage one in this house (other than cats, there isn't really a place for one because of the layout).... Eeeek... also have to block all of the LITTLE gaps under the fence -- it is safe for Sentra, but this little fluffy puppy is small.

That puppy is so cute! (blurry, but cute!)

I have a tiny dog (a mini dachshund, though not the one in my profile :) ) and need to replace my storm door... I was thinking of getting one with a dog door, but I think if I put in the extra work she just wouldn't use it :) Never thought about the people-sized door needed for some dogs, that would certainly be an issue.

On that note, to block all the gaps around the bottom of the fence, I just bought some of the short garden-edging "fencing" It's about 8 inches tall, and but that wherever the gaps started to get big. It's kept her in so far

Hi Mae :wavey:

Too- She looks so cute, she looks like a lab mix, blurry pic though. Yeas, your gonna want to block EVERYTHING off. LoL...o wow, yeah, no need for a doggie door than, i know our friends have a huge dog and the dog door is mechanic and opens for him. Its actually kind of cool, he runs at it full speed and its still open when he gets there. Keep us updated on your adoption. This is the most exciting thing ever. Im sure she will be fine, so no worries. YAY for you, you new mommy you

Great idea. I was thinking about stacking paving stones or something but the smaller ones would get move and large ones would be ugly and expensive.

Luckily (unluckily?) we've got some time before she'll be out there anyway so we can get it ready for her. She needs a slow introduction to Sentra so they can adjust and I'm not going to leave them alone together until I'm 100% positive Sentra has learned to play gently enough she won't get hurt (she'd never hurt on purpose, my concern would be getting too excited and play pouncing at her).

So....
I've never had a puppy. Not a little one. The youngest dog I've had was when we adopted Sentra when she was 2-3 years old (and 50+ pounds).

Excited!

O that is so exciting.

Just talked to Mom.

She's meeting the woman at 2:30. FI and I will meet her at some time after that.

So.... pictures soon!

Mom's supposed to ask what she's been eating so we can get some of that and then transition her slowly after she's settled in to the nice food (we've got a great pet place about a mile from our house :)) ).

Here's what I have on my list to get now:

food & water bowls
bed
brush

If she doesn't have a leash should I get her one now or wait until later? We have a nice bag/crate to take her to the vet in so that isn't a problem.

We've also got a pretty big kennel (like 3ft x 4 ft) to use if we need it (like at night until she gets adjusted or when introducing to the other animals)

Awwwwww... Im so excited for you. I would say get her a puppy collar, it would be a nice " welcome home" gift, and a leash, just in case you want to start walking her, and for when you take her out back to go potty.

Woo. Puppy is so cute. I am so excited for you. I just came back from the jeweler. My erring will be ready in 10 days. Tacori will resize it. I can't wait until I get to wear it all the time. I tried 4.5 many times, even with 2 bands. Yeah. FI tried some wb and he knows what he wants! He wants a plain white gold band with milgrains around the edges.
