awwwww. she is so cute. She's gonna be a big baby, but so cute.

Awwww. The dog is so cute. I want to pet your little puppy! I am going on a day trip tomorrow to Victoria with my FI. I'm so excited.

Bg- is that a far drive for you? Yay for day trips.

30-45 min ride to the ferry terminal. Then 1.5 hr of ferry ride. We are planning to go to the butcher garden there. It takes 45 min bus ride to get there. We want to take our wedding pics there. It's very nice there. I think I went there when I was a little girl. I wish I am still in Hawaii. I hate the chilly and rainy weather here. When are u leaving for your trip?

O, that sounds like its a long trip to get there. It sounds so nice though. I would rather take your weather than ours. Its going back to the 100's. We are leaving Saturday Morning, and coming back on Monday afternoon. Im so excited, it should be a nice trip. My mom doesnt want me to go, she feels that me going to see my fathers grave isnt going to accomplish anything. But i feel like i gotta go ya know. Its our first " family" trip, we are taking the doggies

I am so excited too. Now I don't need to worry about the ring. It's nice that you are visiting your dad's grave with your FF. Do whatever you feel it's rite. You don't need to accomplish anyway by going. You just want to go. I am sure your dad would be happy. You know what I mean? Hey, did u ever post a pic of your earrings? I thought I checked all the posts I missed. My beat is 6 days away. My FI already bought me a Tiffany pendant from Hawaii. He saved around $26cdn by buying it in the state (after all the exchange rate) Hawaii only has 4.2% tax. Nice. I wanna move there. Summer all year around!

eek, gotta catch up and here's a puppy! cute! Though it made me a bit peeved when you said the neighbors had puppies and they were going to dump the runt if no one took it! Argh, so many shelter dogs, it makes me sad. Puppies are so much fun though! I'd say get a collar to start at least, so the pup can get used to it, but the sooner you start with a leash, the better. One of those desk bells can come in handy too, if you put it on the floor and teach your dog to step on it whenever you go outside to take him to potty, pretty soon he'll do it on his own so you'll know.

Oh and building a plane?!? Who does these things, lol. I've had a cabinet from Ikea sitting in the garage for months, that's supposed to hold my shoes and I can't even put that thing together. I need to find some inspiration from you ladies.

Beezy - have fun in Victoria, it's so pretty up there!

Thx Seattle. Victoria is so nice. My FI worked there for a year. It is such a lovely place. I am so looking forward to our little trip after our Hawaii trip. I am going to Seattle and Portland over the labour day long weekend with my parents. I will be soooooooo close to you. Hee hee

No, i didnt, the pics were super blurry. I gotta firgure out how to take nice ones. Thats so nice of your FI, and that tax rate is super low....ours is 8.25% here. Your gonna post pics right, i wanna see :D

Hey SC....your on mighty late.

Speaking of wich, BG shouldnt you be sleeping?

I should be sleeping. I am still playing with my iPad. Maybe I'm still in Hawaii time. I should really sleep. I have to wake up early tomorrow.

You're coming to Seattle?!?!!

It should be nice this weekend!

I think it was around midnight, but I went to bed right afterwards. I a bit of a night owl, though I usually wake up at about 6am for work.

I've been so eager to go on a vacation to Hawaii since the plane tickets have been really cheap lately, but BF's sis is planning on having a destination wedding there probably in March, so I'm forced to hold off. As much as I'd like to go there twice within a year, I think I should either save soem dough or plan on going somewhere different.

Yay for nice Seattle weather though! I'm excited that the sun's actually out right now, hopefully it'll stick around through the holiday. Anyone else with any fun plans?

LOL....
Building a plane wasn't exactly planned. It flew in to the mechanic for an annual then..... well.... things happened and it got taken apart, things damaged, left in the weather.
We got it out of there as soon as we could manage but it is a mess and has to be re-built and damaged (or worn) stuff replaced. Since we don't have a big heap of cash sitting in a closet somewhere, we have to do as much of the work ourselves as possible.

People build them by choice (pretty often actually) but it is a lot of work.

The weather is PERFECT right now! I am Soooooo not ready for fall/winter.

So we bought puppy stuff yesterday....
She's thrilled with it all.

she got new yesterday:
bed
food/water bowls
collar & leash (FI picked out the pretty pink ones)
little rope toy (also teeth cleaning)
chew bone
doggie treats (100% meat and soft for puppies)
Orijen's puppy formula (dry food)
Mulligan's Stew (wet food)
potty pads (for night time and in case we needed to train her from scratch)

We need to get her more toys....
Kind of hard to shop without an idea of how big, what she likes, if she likes to play or just chew......

We named her!

Amelia ---- Millie for short

See you all later :wavey:

I might check in over the weekend if I get a chance. FI and I are hopefully getting the tile backspash in this weekend (Fri - Mon) so it'll be busy.

Jessie -- Enjoy your family trip.

BG -- Have fun in Seattle.

SC -- enjoy the weather!

O Too- that is just so sweet. Im glad you are keeping her. Have a good weekend

SC- im a bit of a night owl too, good for skin, bad for school

Bg- i hope you enjoyed your trip.

Thanks Too, im sure we will. Well im signing out for the weekend. Im gonna do a list update.... :wavey:

See you ladies Tuesday

I finally have a chance to come on, only to find that everyone is leaving for the weekend!

Well, I'm finally moved into my house in Denver. Almost everything is unpacked and the only major thing left to do is get our TVs hooked up. Apparently the person who lived here for the last 15 years didn't watch TV, so there are no cable outlets! It's going to be quite the annoying task to get this place connected but we have to do it before college football starts on Saturday.

Too - congrats on the new puppy! You did such a wonderful thing saving that little girl and I can't applaud you enough. I cannot believe how heartless some people are, it really upsets me to read that they were just going to dump her. I love dogs and have two little furbabies myself, so I hope she is a wonderful addition to your family! And what a cute name. :)

Safe travels Bg and Jessie!

Hi Cali :wavey:

Glad your move went okay. Who doesn't have cable???
I know it happens, but all of the newer houses come with it already built in and many (most?) of the old ones had it added through the years..... even my Grandparents (who don't have internet) have cable.

I know, it's so weird! We have to run cables from the basement for now and nail them up along the ceiling. That will not be very fun...

How's Millie doing adjusting to your house? Is she getting along with your other pup?

She hasn't officially met the other animals yet. The vet checked her out yesterday and she was found to be very healthy, probably about 8 weeks, but with worms (one came out and was sitting on her tail wriggling when the vet came in :knockout: ) and fleas (just a couple) so she got the de-wormer (does worms & other parasites & fleas) and a topical flea treatment.
We'll probably start introducing today since the worms are dead/dying (I've seen them coming out  ) and I don't see signs of fleas anymore (to be safe, the other cats and dog got Frontline too).

Here are a couple of pictures from an hour or so ago.

Aww she's so cute! But totally gross about the worms/fleas. Be careful about the fleas though, those things can stick around for a long time once they're found! For 8 weeks though, she looks like she'll be pretty big once she's grown. I think she's already as big/bigger than my little guy! She looks like she's taking well to the leash though.

Oh, and btw, I don't have cable. Well I have the basic basic local channels. I don't miss it though, I hardly have time for TV and if I had access, I'd probably waste more time than I already do. Whenever I'm at my parents house I watch food network and the wedding channel.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Too: sorry about the worms/fleas. They are gross. Anyways. 8 weeks. She's pretty young. SO CUTE!!!

Cali: I was just thinking about you. I'm glad you've moved and kinda settled down. How's the ring btw? Mine is getting resized by Tacori. I should have it in 10 business day. No longer than the 3rd week of September.

Today, I'm feeling a bit down.

Too - what a pretty, happy girl! But yuck about the worms, just shows again how irresponsible the breeders were. She is definitely going to be a big girl... How much does she weigh now and did the vet give you an estimate for how big she would get?

I hope the introductions go well! We got our second dog when our first was 2 years old and she didn't immediately like the puppy. Just give them some time, usually they work everything out themselves.

Bg - Ah, so you did send it away to get sized. How much bigger did you go? My ring is sitting in a safe in my bedroom, taunting me by the day. I have to go in the safe almost everyday and I always want to snap open the box and look at it (but I don't :halo:). I've started asking my bf the last couple days when he's going to propose since I just want to wear my ring! He thinks it's funny to torture me, but my patience is waning.

Why so down? I've been down too - I got my season ski pass today and I look absolutely ridiculous in my picture. I'm quite slender, but the angle made my face look ginormous for some reason. I wish I could laugh at it, but I'm so embarassed.

what a gorgeous little pup toopatient!

hope all you LIW are had a lovely week. This week I tried on a ring :-O my goodness it was exciting! He has been starting to feel it all out but I still feel it is a quite a while off.

Ohh calibali how are you coping with knowing your ring is waiting there for you! I'd be going crazy haha!

That's awesome Mif! What kind of rings did you try on? Do you like any specific style or are you still feeling out your preferences?

After I posted here what an angel I am, I went and tried on my ring. I told my bf I did and he was a little annoyed, but he wasn't exactly surprised. Since we've received it, I've probably taken it out 5 times without permission. I really need to stop though since it looks smaller and smaller each time and then I might be less enthused when he finally proposes.

I'm not exactly sure what he's waiting for, I'm booking our flight to Bora Bora on Monday...

That dog is too cute! Glad you are being careful about the worms/fleas!

Calibali: With a trip on the way, you have to believe it'll happen then! Try not to try it on too much (even though I know I would). Your bf has to do a better job of hiding it!! :wink2:

Just had a really funny convo with the SO about rings. He joked that I should *want* to wait until he had a better paying job so I could get a better ring! I told him I could get exactly what I wanted for about 3K, because the sapphire center stone I want is about a third of the price of a diamond the same size. His response: "I guess the side stones will just have to be bigger then!"

How many times do I have to say that I don't care how much it costs before someone believes me! :D

On another note: I am SO BORED. Everyone is away for labor day weekend and my SO has his first night on call. I just did all my school work for the week... now what?!

Just a quick check in...

BG -- why are you down???

Millie is about 8 weeks. In addition to the fleas and worms, we found out Friday after the vet closed (they left a message) that her fecal sample came back positive for a parasite. My poor little Millie isn't feeling well today. Not sure if it is the shots, de-wormer, or the parasites but she's had diarrhea all day and been low energy. (the vet said to expect this so I'm not too concerned -- she's still drinking and ate some earlier today --- it's just so sad to watch her feel icky) I've been taking her outside to potty about once an hour and she's still had accidents in the house. Poor thing. ;(

Not from a breeder. She's a rescue puppy. The rest of her litter got adopted out (sounds now like it is just someone who isn't responsible enough to have their dog spayed) and she was the little runt they couldn't find a home for. We heard through a chain of people that if she didn't get adopted that night (like within an hour) they were going to dump her on the side of a road.... :nono: :nono: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:
One of the people in that chain agreed to take her overnight so we could get her the next day.

Hopefully she feels better tomorrow.
