You know, latey (last month or so), I''ve been getting on PS more often on the weekends. I never used to, but I''ve gotten more invested I guess. Now I sign on to catch up on certain threads I''ve been following. Sometimes I pop in and post, but usually I just lurk for a few minutes. I rarely see you on.

Yeah, I occasionally lurk on the weekends, but for the most part I just catch up on Monday. I''ll check in during the weekend if there''s a fast-moving thread that I''m interested in.

ditto''s.
ususally the weekend morning is the only time i have before the internet gets stolen for video games.

I get super worked up when i call out. like, if i have a headache, i INSTANTLY get a sore throat. weird.

Who is Gomez?

We''re probably going camping this weekend. which we have no money to do so. honestly i would just like to kick it at home and pack for the BVI.

Only like my favorite band EVER.

Well.. definitely top 5. I''m not sure they top Radiohead...
Top Radiohead?! Ummm, I think not.

That''s awesome that you''re seeing them! I''m not a huge indie rock lover, but of the indie bands, I like them a lot. Ian Ball is my fave.

Yeah, it''s pretty hard to top Radiohead.

Here are my top 5 in no particular order:

1. Radiohead.
2. Gomez
3. Oasis
4. The Black Crowes
5. Tom Petty

I think. I hope I''m not missing anyone...

Ive adored Tom Petty since I was about 9.

The Tom Petty/Black Crowes concert i went to about gave me a heart attack.

OOHH. indy rock.

i see.

jk. sorta. growing up in the NW, i had my fill of indy rock. with the exception right now of sebadoh, vampire weekend and few other seattle/portland bands.

go figure though, since the last "new" album i downloaded from from 1971
12.gif

ooh. i dont think i could ever do favorite bands since it changes so often, but here is a stab at it

1. Queen - i love freddy Mecury
2.

yeah see, i can never think of 2-4 because it changes so often. Right now i am really digging John Joe White

It''s birthday week!

So, I need to figure out what I want to do. BF has the WHOLE WEEKEND off! (But not Monday. Boo!) I want to either do a day trip on Sunday or do a few things all weekend. Maybe a hike on Saturday and a baseball game on Sunday? (Charlotte has a pretty bad minor league team. It''s so much fun!) I don''t know. We''ve already done the zoo, dangit, so I feel like doing the drive through safari park won''t work this time. He''s not really into the historic old towns and stuff, so that won''t work. But he loves hikes (but probably won''t be down with the 2 hour drive each way for the hike I really want to do), and I could probably convince him to spend $7 on a baseball game.

What do you guys think? Any other ideas?

(Btw, my top 5 band list looks like this:
1
2
3
4
5

Yeah. It''s blank. I''m so bad at picking favourites.)

I like the hike idea. Spending a day outside is one of my favorite things to do. Baseball game would be fun also, but I prefer the hike!

I''m not very creative, so I don''t know if I can come up with anything else, but I''ll try.

Thanks ladies. I''m hoping I don''t have strep throat but it is likely since I get it about once a year (sometimes once every two years). For some reason, my throat and lungs are the areas where I am always susceptible. I drink a lot of vitamin C as a result but sometimes, usually after finals or a big project, my body is just vulnerable. It''s also been chilly in NY the last few days, I don''t know if that has anything to do with it.

Elle, did you notice we are close to hitting the 3,000 post mark? I think, in the last few months, I have been posting a lot more than I did all of last year.

LOL Thanks hon.

We''re a long ways away from 10,000, but it''s still pretty cool, since I can remember like yesterday what it was to be a newbie.

jcar- Yay for your $5! lol

So..........I've got some EVEN MORE bad news.

Just when you think things couldn't get any worse for FF, we found out Saturday that his OTHER grandma now has kidney cancer and they will do surgery TOMORROW to remove her kidney. I guess the cancer is in the center of her kidney so it needs to come out asap. They will also remove her gallbladder as I guess she has gall stones too.

I just feel so horrible that this is happening. We are already still so worried about his grandma in MN but now his other grandma in ID too
40.gif
It's just crazy. FF read up about it a little bit and 80% of people after 5 years are considered cured. We will have to wait and see...

2009 just keeps getting worse and worse

Hey ladies! Just peeping in here because the thread is bolded now

I''m doing one of those cleaning binges today where I go through every room in the condo and deep clean/purge until I feel better about the clutter. Right now, it''s totally intolerable. And stupid me decided to start this project and then agree to let a friend crash in our spare bedroom tonight while passing through the Midwest...which means I have to get it done ASAP so there aren''t piles of things all over the spare room!

Hope everyone is having a nice Tuesday!

scratch ticket - the crosswords one

I had to get snacks for everyone so i figured, why not?

Oh no, looks like DG and I posted at the same time. Hope everything gets better with FF''s gma!

I know it! Both of them aren't looking so good at the moment.

He's a little upset because when he was in MN visiting that grandma after her stroke, his other grandparents from ID were driving through CO on their way home from IL. They were going to stop and see FF but he wasn't back yet. Then he was talking about how he wished he could have seen them because you never know what's going to happen. And then THIS happens...

He might have to go up and see her just because I wouldn't want him to regret not seeing them since he missed them when they were passing through. They are such nice people, I just feel awful.

I''m sorry to hear this Dream. I hope they get that sucker out, along with all the cancer, in one shot.

How was your doctor''s appt? Was it just a freckle or what?

Oh yeah, did I not say? lol Sorry....yeah he looked at it and says its fine (such a blessing!) but we will keep an eye on it anyway and he can remove it if I want. It isn''t very big at all but it''s grown and just looked wrong to me. I''m glad I had it checked out. He looked at other freckles too and I''m good right now. He also looked at my right wrist because it bothers me a lot. It even hurts to carry a gallon of milk in my right hand. I was worried it was carpal tunnel but he said its just some tendonitis which is also good news but not that good because THAT''S why it bothers me! lol But it''s nothing major so I''m happy.

Ugh. I felt so awful when I saw FF after the Dr. Because he was so worried about that freckle he wanted to know the news. So I told him it was fine and I don''t have cancer! Then I find out his one grandma has cancer the same day.

i am so sorry to hear about the other grandma - my thoughts are with them both.

Aw DG, I am so sorry. I''ll keep her in my prayers. I''m glad your appointments went well, though.

DG - well at least good news about the freckle!
