I just don''t have anything interesting to contribute.
I find it quite unacceptable that no one has anything interesting to say on a day that I don''t either.Date: 5/26/2009 2:31:54 PM

I''m super swamped at work, so that''s my excuse. I leave tomorrow to go out of town on business for 4 days (missing our closing date in the process--BOO!), so I''m trying to get all caught up before I leave.
I''ve been thinking the same thing, I usually just lurk on this post but I like to read what''s going on with everyone. I can''t wait for work to be over!Date: 5/26/2009 2:40:46 PM

Sorry you miss your closing, that sucks.. but at least you''re getting a HOUSE soon!
Just heard the update on gay marriage in CA. Seriously disappointed that it was upheld.

Hey ladies! I hope you enjoyed your long weekend!
Question: How offended would you be if someone implied that you copied their e-ring??
Ditto Elle. It would totally depend on the situation. No e-ring is really completely original (unless patented or something), and others may have something identical, or very similar. If a close friend or sibling, etc. were to maliciously select the exact same ring as me, I''d probably be upset about it, but otherwise, PSers, etc. replicating my (nonexistent) ring, I''d find it flattering.Date: 5/26/2009 3:23:58 PM

IMO, there are very few ''original'' e-rings out there, and a lot resemble other styles to a certain extent. If it was seriously an exact copy that was an original, and I copied it, i would not feel upset if someone called me out on it.
If you have some e-ring by a well-known designer (i.e. Tacori, Ritani..) Sorry, but... you can''t copy something that''s already out there in mass production. Your ring isn''t an original, and essentially the person who has the ring also has a copy, since there are TONS of that specific ring out there in the world.
It also depends on the person that said it, how it was said, and how accurate the accusation was. Hard to say, really...

Here''s what happened:
My co-worker got engaged months ago...I don''t even know when because we''re not close and I''m self-employed so I only see her every so often. When I was checking out her ring we talked about different ring styles and I mentioned what I liked about her ring, or at least what I found to be unique. I''m pretty sure her ring was custom-made.
So yesterday I was at the office and she noticed my ring and asked to look at it. She kept commenting, ''oh, it has ... like mine. You had mentioned that you liked ... on mine.'' And she said that about a few things. It irked me because yes, I did say I liked her ring, but I didn''t go out to copy it, nor do I think they look similar! Even to suggest that I was inspired by her ring was just sooo....cocky. The design of my e-ring was actually based on an LM. I think I just wanted to vent. Yesterday was a frustrating day because after I left the office some dumb chick cut me off and gave me the finger.
Here''s a pic. Hers was based on this design but she''s also got pave up the claws...or whatever they''re called.
Ya...I know...not worth my time or energy!!!! I think I just need to get it out and then I''m over it, you know?Date: 5/26/2009 3:50:38 PM

Yeah, I would be inclined to be offended, but... honestly... you know you didn''t copy it, and trying to explain that to her will be futile. Also, wasting your energy getting annoyed that she doesn''t *get* that yours isn''t a copy... you''ll drive yourself crazy.
Some people like to look for drama (like copying an e-ring) and they''ll find it regardless.
Or you could just email her a pice of the Leon that you wanted, and tell her that he inspired your ring choice, not her!
There''s no way she could compare herself to the likes of Leon!
