The May LIW Small Talk Thread

Bia-wow!!! What a long time to clean!!! Are you guys planning on selling anything, or was it all trash?
I took out my summer clothes from the storage closet with the highest intentions of changing everything over from winter to summer, but wouldn''t you know, I didn''t lol! The rubbermaid bins are sitting on the floor still, lol, but the cats love it because they can sit on my clothes. Weather here in NJ is horrible. It was in the low 90''s last weekend (yay flipflops and tanks) but since Thursday, it''s been rainy and in the 50''s!
Princess, that''s hilarious about the lures. I remember I used to help my mom pick hers out when I was growing up, and I always went for the glittery pink ones, lol

Oh Dreamgirl! I am so sorry that so many things have happened in such a short span of time! I am sure that your BF will find a new job and will be very happy. I've heard about a lot of people losing their jobs only to end up in a position they like much better - either they get a better pay rate or the environment is better or their role changes and they end up really liking the new experience. Stay positive about things and I am sure the pieces will fall into place.

I am also going through a similar experience with my grandfather. We had to move him into a nursing home and his health is declining very steadily. In mid May he is scheduled to have a blockage removed from his leg and there's doubt as to whether he will survive the procedure and if he is able to survive they are unsure if they will be able to save his leg or if they will have to amputate it. So, the outlook isn't good and I've accepted that. I just focus all my hopes that he transitions from this existence to the next one peacefully and comfortably. I also hope that my father is back in the US and is not still in Saudi Arabia or another part of the Middle East when my grandfather's time to pass comes. I would never want my father to have to suffer through a 22 hour flight because his father passed away. Too sad to think about.

It's great that your job is safe. I hope that you do not have to face any more possible layoff worries! I hope things start to turn around for the better - I always feel like Spring is a perfect time for renewal an growth for us as well as nature. Seems like during spring - good things start to happen!

I know it! I'm very hopeful that he will find something wonderful. He wanted to move on anyway so maybe this is HIS TIME! I have confidence in him. He's such a smart guy and deserves great happiness in this time of his life. Thank you

I'm so very sorry to hear about your grandpa! That's just terrible. My grandpa had conjestive heart failure. We knew it was getting worse slowly over time and there really wasn't much of anything that they could do. He was 97 and there was a surgery but just like your grandpa, if they had done the surgery he wouldn't have survived the surgery or the recovery would have been too much for him. Other than that, he was very healthy and happy. So we waited until the time came and he passed peacefully in his sleep...I'll send you my love, thoughts and prayers and I too hope your father will be back in the US soon.

I think you meant me. lol yeah, get this.....S just bought 2 new lures over the weekend. He tells me "I'll get the sparkly, shiny and diamond-like ones because they attract your eye, they will certainly attract the fish!"

lololol He seems to think me and the fish have the same taste in lures... and of course there were 2 sizes of the same lure, I told him "Get the bigger one! Bigger is always better"

He says "Sureeeee..." lol

(I would know, me and the fish have a lot in common according to him)

lol I HATE to clean. I mean, I love everything to be clean. I just don''t like cleaning it!

Hmmmm...I can''t think of anything weird other than wanting to be outside more. But that would probably be normal.

Tread carefully here...because you have to finish once you get started and you''ll be surprised how much junk you can cram into your closets and drawers. Prepare for it to take more than one day!

That''s too funny about the lures!!!! Do you have to have a fishing license where you live? Here in NJ, if you''re over 14, you need to have a license to fish, which costs $23 per season.

I''ve had one before but we need to go get new ones again. I think its about $24-$26 for one. I was telling him I can buy it for him because I know how badly he wants to go..lol

gaaaah, i can''t wait to be done with this semester and actually have some time to myself (and maybe time to do a photoshoot with my ring?), except then, less than a week after finals end, i start my internship halfway across the country...

blah, need more time. but excited to be almost done with the semester. but not excited to be away from FI for three months.

I used the eliptical for 15 minutes straight yesterday. not a huge acomplishment, but better than nothing, with my stupid broken foot. and my out of date apartment gym does not have an exercise bike. i thought those were supposed to be cheap?!

Yay jcarlylew!!!! That''s good!!!! Those exercise bikes and machines are outrageously priced! I''m not sure if I''m going out after work for 5th.

we were supposed to do a cooking class, but right now its a bit much (especially since taking one on Thursday). I''ll just work and go home and work out and work on the apartment more. I really want to lose some weight/inches before i go on vacation. 39 days to go! my goal is to ellipticals for 15m every day (most i can do with my foot for another couple weeks) and weight train so i can pull myself from dead water (weight) into a dingy boat. not a fun attempt.

although i will celebrate my 15 minutes on the machine with some therapeutic shopping during my break
