thanks. im trying not to, but there are so many life changing things going hard right now that its hard not to (wierd cause im usually not one to worry about these sort of things.) hopefully ill get over it soon though because salmon could turn a sour stomach REALLY sour. lol.
14.gif

BTW: i love your icon!!!!
3.gif

oh no! not salmon sour stomach! lol then everyone will be saying you left there cause they made you sick.
40.gif
sounds like you''re going to get a nice long weekend before starting your new job. i suppose the good thing about all the life changing going on is that there can''t be much left to change, and life has to let you get settled into all this new stuff before you can have anymore life changing events.

morning everyone!

i did the machine for 22 minutes yesterday. my foot seems to be holding up! shoot. now i wont have an excuse to not exercise!

I went shopping yesterday to try on shorts and stuff for our upcoming vacation (38 days, btw, but who''s counting?). I dont know why, but i tried on shorts. and it seems that after every summer i forget how much i hate shorts, and how i look in them. so i am opting for skirts and dresses instead. E is trying to convince me to bring shorts, until i said

''its our vacation. on a boat. why the heck would i wear clothes i am uncomfortable in?''

Dresses and skirts win :) and thank god for old navy having cheap skirts :)
Ha! I could have written your post, Jcar. Well, not the part about the foot.

I HATE shorts! I will only wear skirts/dresses. Why do shorts looks so bad on me? I''ll never know. They seem to look pretty OK on everyone else, I have no idea why I''m so grossed out by me in shorts. Blech.

Ugh, I can''t do normal shorts either. I wear lots of long shorts though. Like, knee length?

Also you changed your pic!

I''ve never tried knee length shorts. I wear capris... but nothing knee length. I wonder if they''d look good on me?
33.gif

I did change my pic! I was bored of my other one... needed to mix things up. Now everyone is going to be confused...

elle I was just gonna say look at you in your new avatar! Your so pretty
4.gif

I usually wear capris, bermudas, walking shorts. I stopped doing the "short shorts" probably at 25. I felt too OLD
6.gif
to wear them anymore. lol

I was back and forth about trying them because im so short, but i got a pair of bermuda shorts. theyre really cute, and actually don''t look bad (i don''t like wearing regular shorts either).

elle- i did notice your pic change, not confusing at all, cute

.

Thanks for the compliments guys. That was sweet of you!

I stopped mini-skirts.

I just feel too old. I think I stopped at about 25.

Soooo.....

What do you do when you realize you don''t actually like the people you''re hanging out with but don''t really have other friends because you''re in a new place?

LOL.

Become an introvert like me?

I''ve been trying to meet new people by getting involved with hobbies... that''s all I''ve got. It''s starting to help. I''m in a friend drought also.

Yeah, BF and I decided to sign up for more activities and then just throw ourselves into any social activity with people from there. Bar? Sure! Hike? Sure! Tennis? Sure!

I just can''t handle the girls I''ve been hanging out with much longer. I can''t I can''t I can''t. They''re nice, just horrible matches friend-wise.

Where are you, in the office? (I''m talking about the photo lol)

Yeah, at least we stopped at about the same age. I think I look good in walking shorts and berumudas anyway. I look more like a lady.
2.gif
And that''s good when everyone seems to think I''m only 21 lolol

I hear ya. It''s the same story all the time... you hit your mid 20s and something snaps. You all just spin off in different directions from all of your friends. Or you can pull a "me" (others have done this too, I see it on PS all the time) where you hold on to a friend just because she''s been a friend so long, and you beat the friendship into the group to the point where you cant stand the sight of one another. Lovely.

FF and I joined a meetup.com group, but so far we''ve been to nervous to attend any of the meetups. It was a night life/social group.

Yeah, my old job. I was a receptionist, so I was at my desk. I hated that job. Thats why the picture makes me laugh, because I was trying SO HARD to look happy.

I was a great fit with them at first....when I didn''t know them that well. But now...well, our values and interests just don''t add up. I have to work to try to stay kind of interested in what they''re talking about and it''s just not worth it. Friends that are worth hanging on to don''t require effort just to get through a conversation. Especially since I''ve known them less than a year.

So after you took the photo, did you put it on your computer desktop to remind yourself how joyful you were there? lol I kinda got the sarcastic "life is great, thumbs up" grin vibe from looking at it...lol

I agree. If you have to work that hard at it why bother. lol

Agreed! It should be easy (well, at least most of the time) to hang out with friends, not a challenge.

Hi everyone. I know I''m not the most active of members, but I do read a lot of your stories (way to creep everyone out right away, CAKENY). Anyway, I find myself on this board more than the BWW boards cuz I was really not into the wedding planning when it was happening, so I find very little reason to go onto the board now that I''m done (except to ogle everyone''s beautiful pics of course).

so hello!

as for changing friends in your mid 20''s - guilty as charged!

Hahaha, cakeny, all are welcome!

And yeah, I''m thinking I''m just slowly going to phase out of hanging out with them. I like them in small doses every now and then. Just not multiple times a week.

And that happens naturally anyway, as you get older. Oh gosh, I''m not even that old and i''m already starting to sound like my mother.

Okay, in happy news one of my best friends is graduating this weekend and I go up tomorrow night just in time for GRAD BALL! And it turns out I have this dress in my closet that still fits (I bought it before my senior year of HS). Crazy! So I''m off to buy shoes and celebrate that something I bought when I was 17 and skinny as a rail magically fits me now.

Hi there cakeny! Congrats on your new marriage! I was just looking at your wedding photos. Don't know how I missed it. Maybe I didn't hit the BWW board that day. You looked so beautiful and elegant
2.gif
I especially loved your hair!

I'm not far from my early 30s. I'll be 28 in July

lol

I often times wonder who all reads or lurks around these parts and reads the things that I and the other LIWs post.

Dreamgirl, I always remember you because you were the first person to "welcome" me to PS when i joined last year. :)
30 is the new 15, no worries ;) Thank you for the compliments on then wedding! It was indeed a good day.

Princess, that''s so fun. any reason to buy new shoes is a good one. Plus, I love finding old clothes that still fit, although HS might be a stretch for me. But hey, kuh-dooz to you! (sorry, anyone watch real housewives last night?)

Awesome! Wow! You have a great memory. I''m glad I was here to welcome you
2.gif
Then again, I remember some of those who welcomed me when I joined too. Guess it''s kind of like the first impression of being welcomed after joining PS.

cakeny: I am really, really loving your venue (I think I already told you
9.gif
). I am thinking about going to take a look in a few weeks (If we decide against a DW in Puerto Rico). Any advice you can give me before I go? Are we talking very pricey?

TIA!

Okay my ladies, time to go make dinner...what are you all having?
31.gif
Elle, my run kicked ass today. I felt on top of my game...maybe the weather?

Hey Ladies- I have been MIA (I feel like I go through spurts of saying a lot and then nothing)... But it''s finals week YUCK! I have one more test and one HUGE project due.

Yesterday at work, there were these black gnats and they would land on you and bite your neck and along your hairline you couldn''t even feel them but they would just be REALLY bloody- well I got bit about 4 times and today THEY HURT and are ITCHY! EWE EWE EWE...

RE: Friends- I have not had a best friend since maybe 10th grade in highschool- girls are TOO HIGH MAINTENANCE! When I started dating my BF, the group of girls I was friends with then were all mad because I was hanging out with my BF more than them- and I do understand this, when girls do that, but I only think it''s annoying when they have been dating like 1 month. We had been sort of dating for like a year! It was serious... anyways- who wouldn''t want to hang out with a guy who is nicer than any girls?!!

I can''t stand how girls think too much things into things- I HATE when you think, are they mad at me because I did this? Is this why they aren''t calling me?

I have two good girlfriends right now that I hang out with a couple times a week, but I think we kind of act like boys sometimes- we sit around and watch tv and play sega and nintendo and their DS''s hahahaha. Like dream, I would rather hang out with my mom or bro and sister and my bf any day...

Hope this helps!

Ha i was going to say I will post more in June, but then I realized I leave May 29th for Belgium!!! WOO HOO! And I won''t be back till June 28th... so not much posting unless I have time while I''m there... I might
21.gif

Asscher- word. girls are difficult. But then the ones that aren''t are priceless so I keep those. ;) Jealous of Belgium! Always wanted to go. Is this a honeymoon? Vacay? either way, awesome!

Bia- Hi again! You know, for Manhattan, and the view/location, I thought the base price was pretty reasonable. And you are from the area so I''m sure you have an idea of the average prices around these parts! BUT- the price pp goes up with every "extra" cocktail cocktail station you add. So the base price included a cheese plate, a mediterranean plate, and a bunch of passed h''ordeuvres (which are AWESOME, lamb chops- highly recommended). But if you want pasta stations, carving stations, sushi, seafood raw bar, etc, you have to pay extra for those. That''s where they getcha! We ended up added a sushi bar and carving station. But lots of people did tell me that they were too full from the cocktail hour to enjoy the dinner so there''s that to keep in mind. Too bad cuz the dinner was apparently excellent. Which - i wouldn''t know since i didn''t eat anything all night.
20.gif

oh and btw, it''s warmer in NY than in SF right now. What is up with that? so i envy your weather and your good run.

cakeny = cranky former NYer currently residing in SF (for about 5 months now).

OH GOOD LORD.

The Cardio kickboxing sadist of a teacher freaking kicked my BUTT tonight. I am so sore I feel like I may fall over. My legs could give out at any second. Blech.

There''s no food in the house, and FF isn''t here. I dont know what to do. I''m scared, alone, and hungry. I can''t COOK! I might hurt myself!

Man I''m so sore I can barely type. Yikes.

Glad your run was awesome Bia.

Elle - PASTA. Very few people can screw up pasta. VERY few.

Well, shoes are purchased. Confidence is boosted. Life is good. (Minus the friend thing and still having to pack for my trip tomorrow and not getting to see BF for a few days and dealing with the fact that my hours at work may be cut.)
