+ a billion.
Wow. The universe must have given me this message as I signed on for the first time in many months last night. Thanks for pinging me.
I‘m well. I started mounjaro over the summer and I have such a hard time taking care of myself that all my focus has been on taking care of me.
Many people might remember that I had gastric sleeve and didn’t lose any weight, and now I’m finally down 30 pounds. I have arrythmias and went into A fib once, and I don’t like how the medicines make me feel, so it’s important to me that I get this weight off. I’m waiting for my doc’s ok to start weaning off them.
Everyone is well in my family except we just had covid go through the house. My son and I had it for the first time: knocked me down for 7 weeks and I lost my taste that whole time. DH and my daughter had it for the second time.
All of the estimates for the coast house came back at $630k++ (about 280-300 sqft for a pretty basic build) and I didn’t want to spend that for a 3rd house, so we bought a townhome! I closed and had the positive test on the same day. lol. Nightmare as I was then stuck in an empty home for 2 weeks by myself. No one wanted me.
So that has taken up a ton of my time. I’ve been busy decorating.
It’s been on my mind to check in here more. How is @mrs-b ?
and finally, Hello, everyone! Long time no see
I'm doing ok, having just recovered from RSV, strep, an eye infection and shingles - all at once! I've been flattened for almost 8 weeks, but am about 90% recovered at this point. My husband is on round 2 of upper respiratory infections - RSV the first time, now a lung infection. It's never easy, is it?!
Oh no mrs-b! What a time you’ve had! Wishing you and your sweet DH speedy and full recoveries.
Haven’t seen @elizat on here in a while and hope she’s well.
I think often of DF, with affection.
I love how he didn't give a crap he ruffled some feathers here and didn't "fit in" here at Woke Headquarters.
He held his head high here and remained his sweet self with dignity and aplomb ... in spades.
While we were quite different on things that matter less, I like to think that we were quite similar on things that mattered more - although not to most of today's far left.
... just two of a dying breed ... well ...
Hope PreRaph is okay, haven’t seen her in a while and also didn’t want to tag her in case she is taking a break. I wore the sapphire encrusted snake I bought from her recently and it reminded me of all the lovely treasures she would sell and how eagerly we waited to have a chance to purchase something from her collection.
I have been wondering about her for months now. When you say recently bought - how recent?? Would also love to see this item!
... It is so hot here I can’t even think straight ...
That was worded incorrectly, I fixed it, sorry for the confusion. It is so hot here I can’t even think straight although I’m sure it’s worse where you are.
Missing @MamaBee
If everyone reading could please keep her in your thoughts...she has an upcoming procedure and hopefully that will provide her with relief and she will be back here soon...fingers crossed

Yes, these folks have been gone for quite awhile. @DejaWiz was here more recently; not sure if he is on vacation or taking a hiatus from PS.

I'm still around, sorta lurking right now.
Lots going on:
Work...holy crap, work has been crazy busy.
We got a boat! Been working on it to correct some fuel system hiccups (my youngest son and I just got a new carburetor on last night), but it runs and it's fun!
Roofing...all those Midwest hail storms since April has done a number to our roof and gutters, so working get numerous bids so that we can dredge through the repair process.
HVAC...entire system needs replacing. Less than two years out of warranty. Cracked heat exchanger and corroding parts holding the coil, secondary, and blower motor in place. Got the first bid yesterday - this one is going to hurt, lots.
Wow you do have a lot going on! Just know that you are missed but glad you are ok! I hope how soon your problems are solved - really is some major stuff! Take care my friend - home and family come first!!
Thanks, MGR!
HVAC crew is here doing the full system replacement and they should have it done by this evening which will be nice since the humidity is starting to creep up again and it was rather miserable in the upstairs bedrooms last night...we hibernate at 64-66°F nightly and rarely does the thermostat exceed 71-72°F during the day, year round. Indoor temp reading this morning at 6:00 was 77°F with 59% humidity.
Very much looking forward to a working air conditioner tonight!
