The Official TTC Thread!

oh, and after all this time, i have a confession. I have zero idea what you guys are referring to....

What in the hoodle does FRER stand for?
emembarrassed.gif

Hi Maisie,

Welcome! This is my first cycle charting and I cannot recommned it highly enough. It is fascinating to me and once I start seeing an established pattern I think I''ll feel much more in control (to the extent that''s possible). I think it''s wise for you to start charting now. I wish I''d started before we were ready to start TTC because now I feel a bit rushed. I am 35 and DH is 45, so we feel like we don''t have all the time in the world!

The only other piece of advice I''ll give you is listen to whatever Dreamer has to say. :)

Lol! DD you are very funny!!

I know what you mean about feeling rushed Festy. I all of a sudden feel like I have little time for such a big venture! My husband sent me a text from work today saying he can''t wait to have this baby. That made me feel all mushy and silly! I really hope it happens for us! And you too!!

I am going to have to buy a thermometer. And charts. I wonder where I get them from... I shall look online. Is it easy to work out how to fill them in?

Its all so exciting!!

Hi Maisie! I also read your story in the thread started for Indy and i wanted to wish you the best of luck on this amazing journey you and your DH are embarking. It''ll be bumpy, but I think it''s GREAT that you''re giving it a go! This is a great place to hang out while trying. I hope you enjoy it here as much as we do

. We''re here to support each other through the good and not-so-good things.

I am thrilled there is somewhere for us to hang out. Where else would you get all this support, from friends you have made, from all over the world! I feel blessed that I have this huge resource!

Thank you for your best wishes Mela.

OMG! I''d like to thank the members of the Academy, my parents, and of course my DH !

Maisie,

That is so sweet. I''m so excited for you. I''m sure you''ll get the hang of charting pretty quickly. I also recommend Fertility Friend and their lessons that they email you every day. Their website provides charts so there''s no need to buy anything. I hope this will be a lot of fun for you.

We sat and worked out or finances and it seems we will have enough for the surgery around April next year. Thats not too long to wait!! I have decided to put off my ering reset. This is a bit more important to me just now!!

Hello Maisie! And welcome! Stick with us and you'll be charting like a pro in no time!

I got a peak reading this morning! *dances* We BDed yesterday, and we'll go ahead and continue the marathon over the next three days. That should cover us pretty well.

Hi Ebree!
35.gif

How long will it take me to learn all the abbreviations lol! I am going to stick out like a sore thumb here till I learn them!

Maisie, what an amazing story! I wish you all the best of luck with the procedure and making another beautiful baby! I second the suggestion of using fertility friend''s free course and charts, it really makes it so straightforward!

I''m so trying not to get my hopes up, but I keep finding reasons to really believe I might be pregnant.

First, I''m 8dpo, and last cycle, at 7dpo I started getting brown spotting, 8 days I had red spotting, and 9 days I had full on AFF. I have yet to see ANY signs of spotting, which is giving me hope. Even if I''m not preggo, I''m really hoping my lp will be longer than 9 days!

Then, I realized that I picked Wednesday to test, and that''s my birthday! How cool would it be to get a bfp on my bday?!?!

And finally, after I got out of the shower today, I had Full House on when I was getting ready, and the episode where Becky tells Uncle Jesse she''s having a baby was on! I don''t know if you all remember, but when Robbie was pregnant, she was trying to think of how to tell her college buddies, and she was toying with the idea of using Becky''s strategies. That''s because when they were in college, they would have Tanner Family Fun night, so she thought they would get it. (Robbie and my DH were roommates in college). Well, she didn''t end up doing it because she didn''t think that particular friend would remember, but she had asked my DH about it, and he said he totally would have gotten it! So it seemed like a cool coincidence that that episode was on this morning!

I don''t want to get my hopes up too high, but I really hope I''m pregnant!

Do any of you ever wish you weren''t planning so much and that it could be more of a surprise? I mean, my DH already knows that I''m planning to test on Wednesday, so if I am pregnant it wouldn''t really be a surprise for him. When Becky told Uncle Jesse, he was totally floored, and I think that reaction would be so much fun to get. Oh well!

Thank you Sabine.

I know what you mean about it being a surprise. It feels like its going to be such a technical and involved process. Where are the days when the lady would come in to her husband over breakfast and whisper.. 'darling I am pregnant' .. and then he leaps up and picks her up and kisses her before remembering himself and gently putting her down while telling her how wonderful she is!!

Mind you, I don't suppose the overwhelming elation is any different. With men its a case of 'See!! I told you my b*lls work!!'

9.gif

Ebree, that is great news!! Good luck to you! Have fun BDing.

Maisie, I definitely recommend the free charting course! I really enjoyed the thorough descriptions of everything and the quizzes.

Also, regarding surprising one''s partner, I think that would only be romantic in cases where the couple had an huge in window in which they wanted to have a baby and it wasn''t important for them to do it soon. I think there''s the implication that one is "trying" anytime a couple forgoes birth control. Personally, I can''t imagine making the decision to have a child and then not making a concerted effort to achieve that, but then again I''m very goal oriented.

Also, I remember Pandora advocated eating pineapple to possibly help with implantation. I''m at 4DPO right now; when should I get my pineapple? :) Pretty soon, right? Thanks!

Ebree,

Whoot whoot! Time to catch an egg. I'm *so* thinking positive for you, girl!

And, with now having had that appt., and not having as much stress (I really hope!!), it should help out all the more now, too!

Yay!!

***
Maisie,

Awesome about the time to try coming up sooner than you'd originally thought.
9.gif

The message from your hubby was too, too sweet, by the way!

***
About it being a surprise when you tell your hubby. I've thought a lot about this because my Paul was *so* adamant about having the proposal be a surprise, when I knew full well it was coming. The same is true for us telling our husbands, I think. Just because you're going to test on said day doesn't mean it will be positive. I'm sure that it will be a wonderful surprise whether or not a husband knows that you're testing that particular day.

I have a set plan for when we are pregnant, and I hope to keep my senses long enough to actually "do it right." Haha. But in my opinion, any way is the right way because it will be such a wonderful moment, no matter if it goes just as planned or not.

***
Today is 5 days past ovulation (DPO, Maisie). My temps have remained above the coverline, and I've had four consecutive days of my temps being in the 98 range. So, I'm totally hopeful and almost giddy that there will be NO fake out O (ovulation, Maisie) this cycle!

Yay!!

CD (cycle day, Maisie) 25 here, and if I don't flip to another ovulation day, I should be a 34 or 35 day cycler this time around. YIPEEE!!

LOL! The fertilitly academy, right?

Fisher I think with 4 high temps you O''d! With the fake out you had one high-ish temp and then they immediately started fallign down again if I recall.... I think you may have O''d early this time! How awesome is that! 10 days earlier is a lot!

Maise are you re-setting your ring again? I love your split-shank, is it turning out to be not quite what you hoped? (and hey, no judgement from me sister, I am always thinking of the bigger and better
2.gif
)

Fisher, thank you for the help with abbreviations!! Its very helpful. Don''t laugh at me if I muddle them up a bit though!!
9.gif

DD I love my split shank but I am just not liking wearing it everyday. I need a less blingy setting. I am planning to put a spinel into the split shank and wear it on special occasions. I have two beautiful Richard Homer sapphires so I will have a lovely 3 stone ring... AFTER my husband has his surgery!!

Maisie,

I still stumble around with abbreviations from time to time. You''ll catch on, and the girls here are great at stating (and restating) what they mean.

What kind of puppy do you have? Cuteness!!

I have a labradoodle puppy. Her name is Lottie and she is mad! I also have her mum, a yellow labrador. She is called Blossom and is the most wonderful pet you could ask for.

Hi everyone. I just thought i''d pop in. :-)

DH and I have decided to stop avoiding. We''re not actively trying (charting, timing for O, etc.), but instead are just letting nature and love do their thing. I definitely know when I O though because I used charting and CM observation for 3 years off and on successfully to avoid. So, even though we''re letting life guide us along, I''ll definitely know when I''m O''ing, which will make for some interesting feelings.

Sometimes I wish I didn''t know, so it could just be all natural and I could just make love to my husband without doing a statistics lesson in my head afterwards. Haha.

But. . . we are happy with our choice.

We decided to stop using charting and barrier methods so that we could just get it on without worrying about temps, condoms, etc. If I charted to acheive, we''d still be planning things and that''s what we want to avoid. So. . . this is where we''re at. Our life is full and my days are busy for now, so I won''t be obsessing hopefully. :-)

I''ll keep you all updated.

Ahhh! Thanks girls!

Cello, welcome!! It''s great to have a new face around here. DH and I are totally different in our approach (we are both in science and are very much "knowledge is power" kind of people), but I think it''s cool that you''re not charting or tracking. We unfortunately have a narrow window in which it would be ideal to get pregnant, but if things were more open ended we might approach this differently.

I look forward to seeing you around!

Welcome Maisie and Cello!!
35.gif
Best of luck to both of you!

Ebree- yay for the peak reading (it''s so fun to see that little egg on the monitor isn''t it?)! You are just a day behind me as far as O''ing. I think I O''d today and you''ll probably O tomorrow. Let''s catch that egg together!
9.gif

Peony - I''m with you, I''m such a planner that I could never go through this process without having some sort of control. I wish I could be more spontanious like Cello, but that''s not me unfortunately.

Sabine - sounds like you might have some luck on your side.

Wishing you all the best this cycle!

Seems like things are going really well for lots of you guys - hope there are lots more BFPs to come soon.

Please keep the good vibes coming my way. I''m still definitely in need. I got sent home from my call shift last night when I told a couple of the people I was working with that I''m barely pregnant and bleeding and was hoping for an easy night (they''d asked if I was ready for lots of work). In fact, they told me I should have called in sick that morning, which I didn''t even think was an option, what with being on Friday/Sunday call and there not really being enough residents to cover someone dropping out of the schedule. The bleeding got really bad yesterday, almost like a light AF by the evening, despite me stuffing more and more progesterone up where the sun don''t shine three times a day. I really thought it was the start of AF. But I had DH drop off bloodwork for me this morning, and when I went in to check it this afternoon, the beta had miraculously more than doubled to just over 250 in 49 hours. Progesterone had dropped a little, but is still ok. I can''t believe junior is still hanging on in there despite the floods...

Anyhow, it''s time for bed as I''m exhausted again. If the bleeding hasn''t totally stopped by then, I''m going to go in again Monday to check what''s going on.

Kate

Kate that is really great news about the beta. Just know that many people have spotting, some even heavy spotting. Everyone is sending sticky vibes your way!

Kate that is wonderful news... is it possible that you are carrying multiples since you had IUI? From what I have heard from the twin mamas, spotting is especially common with multiples so hopefully that is it for you! Great news on taking some time off. You deserve it and need it, so hopefully you can take it easy for a few days now. STICKY DUST INCOMING!!

DrK, GREAT NEWS!!! We''re all pulling for you!!

Yay, Drk!!!

I''m gonna keep on thinking good thoughts for you! Your numbers ROCK!!

Good morning everyone,

CD15 here and I think I am O buddies with Ebree and BB. DH has been 300 miles away all weekend, so I will have to live vicariously through you ladies this time around. I''m pushing for you! Honestly, as I was experiencing what I''m pretty sure was O pain last night I was thinking "where can I get some sperm?" Happy to report I did NOT go out and find some.
9.gif

Dr K, that it such great news! Isn''t it nice when your body pleasantly surprises you?

Fisher, cheers to a nice short cycle and clear O signs!

Welcome, Cello!

Maisie, if you have gobs of time on your hands, you could start reading this thread from the beginning. I found it very helpful. Somewhere within the first ten pages is a list of all the abbreviations we use.

Wondering how Robbie''s wedding shoot went...
